The setup is confusing: there are machines and toppings both behind the counter and in front; we didn’t know what to do. The young girl who served us did little to help or explain. She acted as if she didn’t care… actually, I don’t think she was acting. The yogurt itself was ok… not particularly good… though it was expensive.

Cute branding. I really wanted to like this. The customer service was terrrrible. Took some visitors and we were kind of confused at the flavors and would have liked a little guidance. They list a lot of flavors on the board but there are only six self serve options. The flavors on the board have to be mixed by the staff. So we picked one of each– one from the board to be blended and some of the self serve. The blended one is a block of some frozen ice mixed with frozen fruit… Not the best. Consistency isn’t exactly soft serve. The self serve was ok, not my favorite either. So sad… Really wanted this to be better! Raleigh froyo isn’t quite there yet.

Decent yogurt, but whoa, attitude much? The staff merely deigned to serve us out milkshakes and appeared thrilled to get us out of their hair. So, no thanks — we won’t be back.

I was looking forward to trying the pumpkin fro yo, but the employee left the store as I was pulling up. It was 12:30 in the afternoon, the open sign was lit up, but the employee locked up shop and taped a note to the door written in pink highlighter that said«be back soon.» Well, I won’t.

I first had Yogen Fruz at the state fair last year, and hands down, it was the best thing I’ve tasted at the fair(yes, I dare say that even with the blooming onions, wisconsin cheese, turkey legs, and funnel cake). I had a blueberry frozen yogurt, and the flavor was bold and fresh. It tasted like the real thing, not the fake powdery mix flavors you see at other places. Towards the end of the night I went back to get a second serving and was so disappointed I didn’t make it back in time. So when my boyfriend and I had a chance to go to Raleigh, Yogen Fruz was on my agenda. We got two frozen yogurts, despite my boyfriend who does not do well with cold foods, because of course I could finish both of them eventually. One was mocha with chocolate chips, and another was a fruit flavor(I forget) with fruit toppings. We saw the real thing being blended in. Deep flavors. Definitely not powdery yogurt mixes. Did not disappoint. The location at Six Forks Rd is petite, clean and nice. The staff were friendly too. I really wish there were one in Chapel Hill, and I hope to see them at the state fair again this year! Can’t wait until the Crabtree one opens too. I would say it’s a little pricy compared to some other places, but you get what you pay for, and for desserts I’m all for quality over quantity. Yogen Fruz all the way.

I love Yogen Fruz. I went first when I was in Mexico. So when I came home and saw they were building one in North Hills I was super excited! My favorite is the«top it» with the regular frozen yogurt. I love the tart flavor and the fairly fresh fruit they put on top making it healthier than Ben and Jerry’s across the street. I hope they do well, there never seems to be a crowd or many people in there. Yum yum! I’ll keep coming back!

I was super-excited when I saw this place as I’ve loved the froyo in California years back. This was a huge disappointment. The original flavor was bland and tasted more like vanilla than the creamy tartness I loved. The worst part was the texture… it was grainy with ice crystals.

With all of the Pinkberry knock offs its pretty hard to stand out in the land of fro-yo. So I went into Yogen Fruz with much hesitation. First there were three employees working this small space and I think their total age combined is still less than mine but whatever. Anyway the girl who took my order was new so she had no clue what to do with herself so someone else took her place. The menu was a bit confusing as they had summarily named things for the different types of yogurt combinations they offered. Once I figured out what I wanted I let her know and that was that. What’s different about this place is the fruit or candy is blended into your yogurt. It still comes out looking like normal yogurt although it’s no longer white but I don’t want you to read this and think that they look like blizzards from Dairy Queen or something. It was actually a nice change from having vanilla yogurt with strawberries and instead having the two blending together for a nice mixture. From what I gather the Yogen Fruz is new to that area so if they can pull it together staffing wise and make the menu a tad easier to understand I don’t see why this place could do just as well as any Pinkberry. Actually if they kept it up I’d rather go their than Pinkberry. I cannot believe I just wrote that.

I was a little disappointed by my Yogen Fruz experience. I expected more of a local yogurt or freshberry feel, but Yogen Fruz was very odd. The twisted yogurts were too complex and strayed away from the idea of simple, healthy yogurt.

My first Früz experience was in Tyson’s Corner, and I had a pineapple concoction and loved it… so upon seeing this new Früz pop up in North Hills I was PSYCHED! It’s a brandy-new spot, so it’s mega-clean. The two lady staff was helpful and friendly, very quick to offer you a taste of things and make you something new if you didn’t absolutely love it. The Früz differs from your average fro-yo joint in that they’ll blend something really great into your yogurt as opposed to just plopping it on top. Being in the holiday mood, I was thinking about the limited pumpkin spice offering, but the Früz-er helping me recommended the apple pie very enthusiastically… so, I went for it… and i’m glad I did! It truly was like apple pie and something cold and creamy had a baby, and that baby was delicious. It’s a little pricy, but odds are that if you’re in North Hills you’re already spending a few bones… so get thee toYogen Früz for something yummy while you’re at it!

I have been bitten by the frozen yogurt bug due to my extensive traveling throughout the US this past year and this is what I have learned. If it’s served behind the counter, don’t bother. The self-serve frozen yogurt places(where they weigh your cup) are the way to go. Raleigh is getting Yogurt Mountain on Creedmoor soon and I believe Cary already has Marmalade Skies… which I’ve been meaning to check out but it’s just such a hike from North Raleigh. I decided to give Yogen Fruz a try… even though I was pretty skeptical. Turns out, I was right and was very disappointed in this frozen yogurt… almost threw it out. Certainly won’t be going back.

Ah, yes, walking into yogen fruz brought back nostalgia from Texas where there is a yogurt shop on every block. However, I found yogen fruz’s concept and yogurt the most appealing to me because it doesn’t try to act like ice-cream tasting yogurt, and also has this cool idea where you can have the fruit mixed into the actual yogurt through a machine. I’ve only had the fruit mixed and I recently tried the chocolate yogurt and really enjoyed it. The yogurt itself boasts pro-biotics and isn’t too sweet, and not too tart. Be sure to check out this spot. It is probably maybe just a tad bit pricier than some of the other places, but to me, it doesn’t even matter. You can pretty much custom make whatever you want with fruits, nuts, chocolate toppings, or choose one of there pre-made ideas that seem to be classic crowd-pleasers…

Carolina’s first Yogen Fruz! At last fresh fruit and frozen yogurt in Raleigh. Want techno and frozen yogurt?.. this is the place. You can choose to have your yogurt straight-up with fruit and toppings on top, or custom mixed(make your own or choose one of their signature combinations). The best part is the choice to add fresh fruits on top(although the fruits mixed in are frozen). Green tea lychee signature was refreshing and the added pineapple(owner’s recommendation) changed it up a bit. The chocolate almond yogurt is their most well-known signature. 4 stars. eat your heart out Cold Stone.
