I heard about Torch from Offline and decided to swing by today. The iced honey lavender latte was delicious and the barista was very friendly and willing to give advice about different drinks. I especially love that they have a mission to educate other coffee sellers about beans and roasting. The Brier Creek area definitely needed a coffee shop like this!

Cool place. Great staff. They roast their own beans. The espresso is strong and comforting. The cortado was rich, creamy, and perfect. A great local coffee shop.

Great coffee and espresso drinks, very knowledgeable baristas. Their beans are roasted onsite and always fresh. They source their beans from small farms in many areas. Their Hingakawa coffee is unique and sourced in Rwanda.

Upon finding this place on Unilocal I HAD to try it. Lavender late… yes please. First drink is free which is a super plus. The gentleman was super nice and quick service. The lavender latte was good, a little over steamed and the lavender is very subtle. The location is just a little confusing and just oddly placed.

I like this place! It’s very secluded and independent. Their honey lavender latte is amazing. I want to see this café grow and expand. Privately owned it can become a good place for high quality organic food.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh! SuperKoffeeKraftMaschine Bean Roaster Mit Passion… Boom Boom! Honey Lavender Latte ! Yell 20 Points!!! ok it was more like –19 points… So I was glad I had the«El Mexicoca» Weekly Special of the Day, first, reminded me of something back home! Hot Chocolate… they have Hot Chocolate… I did not try it yet… I’m hoping they will adopt something EXOTIK like Escazu… like: Oaxaca or Xocolatl or Xochiaya… that would be great! A so called«White Chocolate» Hot Drink is an idea that worked for some places Bean Roaster They are roasting there Coffee Beans! I think I heard the Barista say they were getting some Laotian Beans… That would be cool! Tea They also had some Indian Tea, I’m hoping to get to check that out too! Cool Customers The Patrons are pretty Cool and Friendly

My experiences with this coffee and business may be an outlier, but certainly a one star for what its worth. First for the coffee itself. I ordered it online and it was delivered very timely. That was the only positive experience. The coffee I got, the Slow Down Roast, was described as Caramel, Dark Chocolate and Sweet Berries. Opening the bag, the beans were rather light and didn’t have a pronounced aroma. My first cup of coffee I made with them was nearly undrinkable. I tried again and again with a few different brewing methods, and all were very bad. The only way I can describe the coffee is weak, extremely sour, and had a metallic taste like the back of a spoon. While I am far from an expert with coffee, I am rather experienced with home coffee brewing, and have never had coffee that was like this. From local roasters to mass marketed beans. All I can think was this was for some reason a bad batch, or they wouldn’t be in business. Needles to say, the beans eventually made it to the trash chute. This would be bad enough. But where I am extremely disappointed with Torch is the customer service. After trying to make the coffee in many ways, I emailed them and asked them a few simple questions, such as recommended brewing method and the expected flavor. After almost a week, I got a reply that instead of answering my questions, offered to send me new coffee. While that wasn’t my intent, I agreed to let them send me more, thinking this batch was a mistake. After a few weeks and not seeing this promised replacement show up, I emailed to check in. I got a response saying«Sorry, I thought you got that already. I will check for you». Okay, another week or so passes and still no coffee. I emailed them again just to follow up. And no response or coffee ever came. I am not dissapointed in not getting replacement beans, as that wasn’t my intent. I am completely dissapointed with what I can only call lies and non-response at this point. Don’t offer to do something, not do it, and then ignore me. I would love to say I would give some of the other coffee they make a try, but knowing all the other good local roasters, I am just not sure how I can

LOVE this place! It’s in a warehouse and not easily spotted, but the coffee is fantastic and so is the barista! What more could you want in a coffee shop???

Phenomenal experience. Truly an undiscovered gem of the entire Triangle area. Freshly made, wonderfully tasting specialty coffee drinks made to order(as many as you’d like!) are accompanied by an in-depth and fascinating discussion of coffee, with everything to its history, its plant, various origins, and ways in which coffee is produced covered. You get hands on experience with making coffee, from the raw product to the finished bean! The staff and especially Mr. Trevino are friendly, kind, patient, and informative. The coffee tasting event concludes with, well, just that, a tasting of different types of coffee– and wow is that both interesting and entertaining! This is the perfect professional development, date day, or «treat yourself» experience, and for the price($ 35/person), I’d say it is also a steal! Great time!

Finally, «Quality» coffee drinks arrive in the Brier Creek area. The beans are roasted on-site, the décor is simple but comfortable, and the owners love to talk coffee. If you are looking for a step above Caribou, two steps above Starsucks, give Torch a try. If your drive out of your way to enjoy coffee at SOLA, Jubala, New World or Joe vanGogh this place is for you. They are just getting started so don’t expect a full-blown café, but do expect a great cup of coffee.
