The Remedy Diner is hands down my favorite restaurant. Food is always delicious and the atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. Great outdoor seating for summer, and for winter they have a great bar with delicious drinks to keep you warm! Service is always wonderful and friendly. My favorite is their vegan BBQ chicken sandwich followed by one of their many tasty vegan desserts. Carnivorous menu for all you meat lovers! 10⁄10 would recommend.

Awesome place for anyone! I’m a vegetarian and went with two meat eaters(who both ordered veg options) we all loved our meals. I had the Viet Nom Nom with Tofu, pickled cabbage, carrots, cucumber, cilantro, jalapeños, Sriracha aioli on a hoagie roll. So yummy! I love spice and this definitely had a kick to it! The pickled cabbage made the sandwich — can’t wait to go back. It’s so nice to see such interesting uses of tofu The place isn’t much to look at but the good is great!

I don’t live in Raleigh and only go there a couple of times of year. But every time I find myself in Raleighwood, I make sure that I have time to visit Remedy Diner. I love love love this place! I have to admit that I’m one of those people who, when they find something they love, get it over and over and over. I’ve eaten at Remedy around 5 times and each time I’ve gotten the Tempeh Tantrum(PETA award for best vegan sandwich) AND the vegan key lime pie. The sandwich is awesome and completely deserves the award. It’s like a healthy BLT for vegans/vegetarians. And the key lime pie is mind-blowing…it comes with this coconut whipped cream and is so delicious. There are many other things on the menu I’d like to try and maybe next time I’ll branch out(or maybe not!). Love the vibe and décor of this place and the service is great. Nice staff who work here. I wish Remedy would open a second location in Durham!

I was wandering around with my daughter looking for a place to have soup and a sandwich and I’m glad I chose The Remedy. I really enjoyed the vibe of this place! It was super laidback, great music playing, and a little on the hipster side, but I dig it. After perusing the menu, I asked what kind of soup they had(for my kiddo) and our server offered a sample. I thought that was a nice touch.(It was a delicious quinoa chili, by the way!) For a sandwich, I ordered probably one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had, the Sgt. Billy Club. The bread was perfectly toasted, and all of the flavors came together beautifully. I was also happy that they had Coke products here because North Carolina seems to love their Pepsi. What’s up with that? ;) The staff was friendly, and displayed the perfect amount of attentiveness at just the right times. My one regret is not saving room for the homemade desserts. Key lime pie, you’ll always be the one that got away :( I will definitely visit again when I come back to NC!

I wanted to like this place. I really really did. But I was sorely disappointed. So here’s the rundown… I don’t eat much meat so the vegetarian and vegan options on the menu were intriguing and I couldn’t wait to try it out. Dined there on a weekday afternoon with BF. The décor and vibe inside are cool and a little funky and I liked the low lighting. However, we chose to dine outside on the back patio because it was a nice day. Service was prompt. Not overly friendly but it was 4 o’clock on a weekday and I think the bartender was the one coming out to take our order so it was totally fine. We ordered two margaritas on the rocks. The drinks we were served were definitely NOT margaritas. It looked and tasted like a mix of orange juice, grapefruit juice, and tequila. Strong, but lacking«margarita» flavor. BF drank his but I didn’t finish mine. We both chose vegetarian entrées. I ordered a black bean burger with fries and BF ordered a salad that came with mixed greens, blue cheese crumbles, avocado, and«tuna» salad on top. But he chose to get the«tuna» salad on the side.(Tuna is in parentheses because it’s mock tuna salad, using some kind of grain instead of the fish so it’s vegetarian) Black bean burger had hard crispy edges all around. Like, hard enough to bang on the plate AND it sounds like you’re eating potato chips when you crunch it. Not cool. I removed the whole outside and just ate the center of the patty doused with ketchup. It had ok flavor, but not great. Salad greens weren’t very fresh or crisp, blue cheese crumbles were tiny and sparse, and avocado was already brown and oxidized like it had been sliced and sat somewhere for quite some time before finally making it onto the salad. The salad was served with a piece of baguette that was as hard and dry as the edges of my black bean burger. The flavor of the tuna salad was strange. Not sure if they were actually trying to re-create the taste of tuna but it was a definite miss. I kept tasting it over and over hoping it would grow on me but unfortunately it did not. The entire meal fell flat. I gave the place three-stars simply because they have plentiful vegetarian and vegan options but I can’t say that I would ever return. The menu looks great but the recipes need some tweaking and definitely some QA before the food goes out.

All kidding aside, really disappointed in the menu changes. Who is doing this and why. Gone: Lord of the Fries(garlic fries) Vegan Nachos Greek Out(vegan gyro) We’ve loved coming here, but it’s really narrowing our choices. Note on soups: have always been watery, and after several ‘misses,’ I make a mental note never to order them. Finally made it in for a Friday night blue plate special of vegan tacos which we enjoyed.

Always excellent service, spacious patio where dogs are welcome. Love the Zoobee salad, which is not vegetarian. The fake bbq sandwich is super yummy. The seasonal mixed drinks are my favorite thing. The desserts are homemade by the owner’s(manager’s?) mom. The vegan chocolate cake gives me life. They display local artists and switch the art out frequently — a concept I love. BUT sometimes the art is too edgy and puts me off my food. I had to deduct a star for that and the fact that the food is exceedingly slowly prepared. Don’t go if you’re in a hurry.

The best buffalo ‘chicken’ sandwich EVER! As a vegetarian, there are few meat products that I miss. That being said, buffalo chicken has always been my weakness. Thank you Remedy! You nailed it!!! I ordered a side salad to go with it with the lemon tahini dressing — amazing as well. What a cute little spot with a chill vibe. I could stay and hang out there for hours. Bartenders were wonderful and super friendly. Check it out if you’re in the area and looking for something different.

Those 3 stars go solely to the fried broccoli and vegan ranch. I will likely come back and bring friends JUST for that. Oh and the mimosas. 1 star for each item. My man friend got the BLT — nothing to write home about. I wanted the biscuits, but they were out by the time we got there(not that late in terms of brunch?) so I just ate some home fries. I wish I had just ate the broccoli and mimosas. The service — I could tell they were trying but it was like everybody was confused? Wasn’t well coordinated. Like I said, I will be back for the broccoli. But I hope next time I am more impressed bc this place has a lot of potential!

As usual I appreciate the vegan options! The award winning tempeh tantrum is ok. not my favorite tempeh sandwich but I really enjoyed the bbq pulled«pork» sandwich. Good service and nice laid back atmosphere! I really need to come back sometime to try the vegan biscuits and gravy!

I was under the impression that The Remedy only served vegetarian and vegan food, but while I was searching for a place that had good gluten-free options for a friend who was visiting from out of town, I discovered that I was wrong. Their menu is definitely veggie-heavy, but there’s lots of carnivorous sandwich options as well(which they serve on gluten-free bread on request). The place itself is best described as «hipster diner», with colorful artwork and giant chalkboards displaying the specials(including yummy cocktails and vegan-friendly desserts). I went with just about the most opposite thing to a vegetarian meal as you can imagine: a Cuban sandwich. It was very good, and everyone else liked their food as well. I just thought $ 8 was a bit much for what you end up getting, especially since the sandwiches are just served with a side of potato chips(not even a pickle spear!). Also the service was pretty much non-existent, to the point that we had to go up to the bar to ask someone to get our waitress to get our checks, after we sat with empty plates in front of us for twenty minutes. On a slow Tuesday night in a restaurant that has… max…about four booths and five or six tables, that’s kind of ridiculous. In the end, I liked it, and I would definitely recommend it to vegetarians/vegans or those with food sensitivities, since it can be hard to find places with good food geared towards your needs. It’s also a great spot to go if you’ve got a mixed group of carnivores and vegetarians, since everyone can pretty much find something they like.

I’ve been here twice now, and it’s quickly becoming a part of my Raleigh tradition. They have amazing vegetarian options, and some pretty hefty IPAs. As you can imagine, it’s also fun to order their mixed drinks like the«Liquid Lobotomy». Who wouldn’t want one of those during a diner trip? Since I’ve only been here twice, there are only two meals I can personally vouch for, and both are very spicy sandwiches: The Flame Job & The Viet Nom Nom. Both were divinely mouth-warming(and paired well with a cold beer). The first time I went, I also had vegan mac and cheese I believe. However, I didn’t see it on the menu the second time I went. I’m not sure what happened there. But I hope it returns, because it was gravely missed the second time! And last but not least, the bathrooms. Awesome. I know it’s strange to Unilocal about a diner’s bathroom, but I must. The women’s room is covered in graffiti art, but the beautiful inspiring kind, not the silly initials kind. It’s like walking into a little gallery when you go into the loo. What a nice surprise. I’m not sure why this place is called a diner, because the bathrooms are too hip to be in a diner. And the food is too sophisticated and delicious to be called typical diner food. The only true diner aspects about Remedy are: 1) the amazing desserts and 2) the servers are all friendly and make you want to come back and be a regular. I’m considering moving from DC to Raleigh, just so I can be a regular at Remedy. Seriously.

I’ve got a feva. And the only prescription is flash fried broccoli. As I’ve been training for the Rock N Roll half marathon, my illness has grown. My five mile route takes me right by Remedy Diner. Imagine the frustration of jogging past multiple times in a week and not being able to stop knowing the cure awaits you inside. Sick with hunger, you might say. My husband came home to find me lying on the couch, famished. I begged, pleaded(actually I just told him because it’s 2015, not 1915) to take me to Remedy Diner. He knew it was urgent and so we headed over. The parking garage and private lot were available and once inside we were seated immediately. Thank god the service was fast lest I perish. Two crowns of the flash fried broccoli appeared swiftly, with a spoonful of vegan ranch, to help the medicine go down. I ordered the club sandwich. I’ve done their tempeh sandwich before too. It was great. I’ve had a weird breakfast sandwich style brunch item from here that was pretty strange but everything else has been wonderful. The waiter was attentive but not obnoxious and my fever was quickly dispersed by the amazing food. So, the next time you’re feeling ill or maybe just feeling like playing hooky, definitely go here for a «sick day» lunch. Remedy Diner has the cure for what ails you.

Let me start by saying, I am far from a vegan or a vegetarian, but this spot is AMAZING. Someone in that kitchen knows how to play with flavors, and everything that graced my palate was extraordinary. My friend had the Tempeh Tantrum, which I sampled. It was so good, that I am considering going back there today to get it again. It was that good. I also saw on the menu that it won an award for one of Peta’s «top 5 vegan sandwiches in the US». That’s pretty awesome. It deserved that award. That pesto mayo! That avacado! That sour dough bread! That bacon that I could barely believe was vegan! It was so authentic and delicious. I can’t say enough about this sandwich. I wasn’t hungry, as I had already eaten, so I ordered a sandwich to go. I asked the server for a recommendation for something that wouldn’t get too soggy if I took it home with me. He recommended«Flame Job» and it was so incredibly satisfying. I chowed that whole thing down this morning for breakfast. Just enough heat with jalapenos. The tempeh and chipotle mayo and pepperjack cheese were JUST what the doctor ordered.(Talk about«Remedy»!) This sandwich was vegetarian, but not vegan. I dont care *what* it was, it was just GOOD. We had sopapillo cheesecake for dessert. Creamy, rich, flavorful, topped with strawberries. Loved it. So 5 stars comes from a girl, who two reviews down wrote a review about eating an entire pig head for dinner. For real. Remedy is so good for vegans, vegetarians, and carnvores alike. I really do think I just might go back over to Remedy today. This may be my new weakness, and it’s just down the street from me. I can get there in seven minutes if I walk fast.

Remedy Diner felt like a cross between Royal Tavern in Philly and the first Champs Diner location in Brooklyn. My wife and I enjoyed the vibe and the friendly staff. We had the Tempeh Tantrum(what they’re known for) and the Vegan Nom Nom. I loved both sandwiches. The Tempeh Tantrum is a little light and the Nom Nom is spicy. I took the jalapenos off and it was fine. My wife and I also split the vegan key lime pie which was awesome!

Located very close to the parking deck, commuting to this restaurant on a cold evening was very easy. The cozy little place was inviting and I was glad we didn’t have to wait for too long on a Saturday night. We started off with the Buffalo Non — chicken wings. I was excited about this because it had won the PETA top 5 award. My mother who was a first time taster of mock chicken absolutely loved it. Whereas I’ve tasted them before and felt they could definitely be better. It wasn’t bad so I still had some hope for the entrees. We had the tempeh tantrum to me was a veggie version on BLT. Another PETA award winner which was a disappointment. The NCBBQ had a good smoked flavour and I thought was a good attempt. Veggie Reuben was smaller than usual reubens and reminded me of a grilled cheese sandwich. It turned to be the best of the lot. We also tried the wild heart which was OK but got bad towards the end. Overall all I wanted fake and they delivered it. May be I’ve just tasted better(in the downtown itself) and hence I don’t think I’m going back

Meh. I’ve experience better at Carrboro and Asheville… The night started out with the non-chicken buffalo wings. The wings were hard to cut and chew. I have better mock chicken appetizers than this one. However, a first timer would like it. I ordered the Wild Heart as a cocktail to go with the meal that was come later. The cocktail wasn’t to my liking. Desperate to have something that I would like. I ordered the Tempeh Tantrum which«had» received the PETA award for best sandwiches. One bite into the Tempeh Tantrum made me question the flavor that the dish was delivering. There wasn’t any. Table side hot sauces were required. Note that the Tempeh Reuben is light on the tummy. The veggie reuben was the best of the lot. It tasted like grilled cheese sandwich with some mock chicken in it. The NCBBQ was chunkier of the lot. It had some flavor to it but definitely could be better. The service had its high and lows. Bottom line: First timers might like it and lacks flavors here and there.

This is the place where you’ll want to take your vegan friends, your meat eating friends – all your friends, really. We came for brunch on a Saturday. I had the«Hot and Gooey,» because how could you pass up a name like that? It’s a vegan dish, which make up about half the brunch menu. The Hot and Gooey is a biscuit with meatless chicken, bacon, and Daiya cheddar, all covered in gravy. It is easily one of the most delicious meatless meals I’ve ever had, and I’ve been a vegetarian for about 10 years. One of my goals in life is to be able to make a vegan biscuit that’s as good as the one I had here. It came with roasted potatoes, which were also excellent. I’m really looking forward to coming back here and trying the rest of the menu.
