Starbucks

When you live off New Bern Avenue there isn’t an overflowing option of food/​drink options in the area. This Starbucks is a great spot to grab a quick coffee or breakfast sandwich conveniently located directly on your way to 440. I’ve been a handful of times now and have not had the same problem as other reviewers where they are overly slow. They aren’t say McDonalds fast, but you are out of the drive-​thru quick enough. The employees are quite friendly and each time my order has been correct. For me as long as they get my order right and have somewhat of a smile on, I am good with it!

Friendly staff. Most mornings there is very slow service in the drive through= long lines and late to work. Sometimes the order isn’t quite right.

Everyone is so friendly here.
I’m from california where most of the time we’re constantly in a hurry. The vibe I got as soon as I entered was very welcoming.
It was really interesting to get that traditional sense of Starbucks with the added touch of Raleigh.

The baristas make the best Americanos here! I love that they have a huge outdoor patio. I used to come here every weekend to do schoolwork. I’ve recently came back and it’s still just as awesome. The staff seems pretty nice o have no complaints.

I hate leaving negative reviews and I love Starbucks. Typically Starbucks leads all in customer service and quality. This store leaves lots to be desired. I never use the drive thru because I typically enjoy going into the café.
This store had cleanliness opportunities no one smiles and unless you are well known to the staff; they go out of their way to ignore you. This has been my experience over a dozen or so visits over the past month. I want to love this store because it is convenient. I find myself driving miles out of the way to visit the location at Capital. I tip, I smile and I don’t mind a wait if the store is busy so I don’t get it. The service industry is brutal and I completely understand a bad day. New Bern has been having a bad day for at least a month.
I actually mobile ordered in their café last week after standing at the register for several minuets, unable to get the attention of a barista. I was the only customer in line, 4 employees were engaged in cleaning tasks and chatting and I still waited over 10 minuets.

Soooo slow. My mission in life is to find out why this one is always so slow and gets drinks wrong. They have staff. So wth?! Every time!

I love this Starbucks! In fact… I hate going to any other one because they’re not this one. My baristas all know me by name, know my favorite drinks, and make them well. I have run into the owner a few times, and talked to him about my experiences twice. I had a complaint that my favorite flavor was suddenly unbearable and he researched it to find answers. Although he got back to me by phone within a couple of days, and could not find a change in the syrup’s ingredients, or origins, he had already given me his card, and 2 vouchers for free drinks and he apologized profusely for not being able to explain the flavor changes, and asked that I always call him with any other concerns.

Should I really be doing a review on Starbucks? Here goes… they gave me the wrong sandwich. I distinctly heard them call out my sandwich and I repeated back to them the sandwich and when I opened it, clearly not my sandwich. Mine was gone with someone else so I made due. Next, they called out my drink order and someone else tried to take my drink. Not Starbucks fault but it speaks to how crazy insane busy this location is and why the drive thru might be a better option if I want my order done correctly. However, it has a spacious patio area that I really dig on Saturday mornings. Read the paper or a book and sip on my mocha latte. By the way, the mocha lattes are not that great at this location but I like getting out of the house on a Saturday morning and this is the closest coffee shop to me. Starbucks. It’s average coffee but I’m okay with that sometimes. At least the service is very peppy and happy.

I just want to update my original posting that the issues continue of being completely hit or miss here. A few days ago, I ordered a Chai Tea Latte. They were out of Chai so I ordered something else but was really bummed. When I got to the window she let me know they comped my drink since they were out of my Chai, totally made my day! 5 stars, great service! I will say MOST days is great service. Today, simple drive thru order, Iced Coffee with vanilla and cream. Repeats it back to me, yep that is right. Get my drink, take a sip as I’m driving down the road a few miles away, no vanilla. Ughhhh! It didn’t have vanilla written on the cup so technically the person making it didn’t know, just the fault of the person who took the order and repeated it back to me. 1 Star. Like can this location please get it together so I have a 5 star experience every time?!

This Starbucks meets the «a-​okay» descriptor of three stars, but it’s definitely not any better. The drive-​thru is convenient, theoretically. Unfortunately, the wait tends to be extra long at the drive-​thru which kind of negates any convenience of not getting out of your car. Some employees are friendly, some are not. But ultimately you’ll get your drink made correctly, and that’s what matters.

I like this Starbucks. Every time I’ve come here is clean and there’s somewhere to sit. It is corporate Starbucks proper with $ 5 lattes but if that’s your jam I say have at it.
There’s a nice outdoor patio that’s buffered from the road, complete with umbrellas. Merry a friend outside for a coffee. It is really pleasant.
The seating inside is a little worn but there are nice big tables for group work and wall area for individual work.
The employees are friendly and chatty. I’m not sure of their names but the red headed guy is super friendly and really makes you feel welcome. I’ve never had to wait for a seat at this location. I think most people use the drive thru.
Speaking of the drive thru I’ve stopped by on the rate occasion that I’m running ahead of schedule and it’s super fast.
The reasons for the four stars is because it’s next to the absolute worst Walmart in Raleigh and is a cluster to get in sometimes. Otherwise it’s fine.

I’m never disappointed with this location as far as service goes. The bums and beggars outside are a nuisance, but that’s New Bern Avenue for you.

Very friendly place and cozy

I’m a huge fan of any starbucks. The drinks here are good. The baristas aren’t as chipper as the ones at my favorite starbucks (On 55 in Durham) but they make good drinks.
The space is extremely small. But I believe most Starbucks are small and the one in Durham is particularly unique because of how large it is. ‚
i say you can never go wrong with Starbucks’ coffee!

I really really love this Starbucks. Not only is it close enough to the house, and the young baristas are always nice and helpful. I never have any problem with my orders.
There are two things about this place that just make it awkward. it’s in the back of a shopping center, with a small parking area; that parking area had to be shared with a drive-​thru lane, so the traffic can be very compact and awkward sometimes.
But, I love this Starbucks, because it opens way late than it’s good for my health. When I needed a little pick me up at 9:45 PM I still have time to hope on the bike and ride over for a double shot latte before it closes (10:30 PM on the weekend.)

Line moves fast and the people are friendly. THey prepared a really good mocha caffe so I was happy. traffic around the area can pick up though. THe place is located in the shopping center where Walmart is.
