I ate at munchies yesterday. It was overall a very pleasant experience. Attentive wait staff, tasty food. I had a beef chimichanga and a beef chalupa. My wife had the chicken fajitas. Both were good. They also have a 32oz beer special for $ 5.50 right now. My only real complaint is the small size of the seating area. There was only one other table being used but I could see how it would be inconvenient if they were busy. All in all a great place and in the summer I would probably sit outside under their covered patio seating section.

We were the only patrons in there and the service was pretty slow. It was an ok experience.

Went tonight for dinner with 3 kids. Food had good flavor with both chicken verde and mole enchiladas fresh. Kids tacos were typical. Salsa had good flavor but really chunky. Really slow service given it wasn’t full. Nice outdoor seating!

The staff was very friendly and the service was fast, and for the most part, very good. The food was excellent and everything appeared to be freshly made. If you don’t like sour cream, be warned. A big dollop comes on the top of every plate. I don’t care for sour cream at all and asked the waiter for a spoon and small plate to offload it. After a couple of reminders, he finally brought the plate. When I asked him to bring some more lettuce to replace what I had to discard because of the sour cream, after an extended wait, he brought that too. And when I got the bill, there was a $ 1 charge for the lettuce. Amazingly there was quite a bit of resistance when I complained about the charge. The seating has not been very well thought out either. Our two seater was not quite large enough to contain our food, but it was the only table we had to choose from. And there’s barely enough room for the wait staff to serve food between tables. Bottom line, the food was very good, although a bit pricy. Tex-mex for two with no alcohol was $ 35 with tip and tax.

We ate here on a Saturday evening and it was great. What it lacks in atmosphere, it makes up for in friendly staff and good food. The salsa was superb. It has just a tiny bit of heat, fresh cilantro, and a whole lot of flavor. Could have eaten it with a spoon! The fish tacos were ok, but again, I’m fussy about fish tacos. The grilled talapia was great, but the creamy sauce was too sweet for me. Reminded me of thousand island dressing. The chicken and beef enchiladas were tasty! A little more spicy than most, tons of flavor. The refried beans and rice were spot on too. My search for the perfect fish taco continues, but we’ll definitely go back to Munchies!

Moms had a coupon for this place and had already eaten here so she invited me and hubs to join her and dad for dinner. I LOVE mexican so I was very leery of trying something other than my fave spots but I do what I do to please the parents when they are paying. :) Hubs asked if we needed to partake on some Mary Jane puffs prior to going in, hence«Munchies», but I told him I was certain that had nothing to do with the name of the place. The place had a bistro sort of look, less mexican. It seemed more upscale from the looks of it, however, the prices were extremely affordable and the portions were huge! We started with the chips and salsa. The salsa is handmade every morning and was yum-o! For our meals, I got the chicken quesadilla with rice, hubs got the Enchiladas a la crema which were topped with a poblano sauce and served with rice and refried beans, dad got the same as hubs, and moms got the chicken carnitas, which in my world looked just like fajitas everywhere else. Everyone LOVED their food. The chicken in my quesadilla was the most flavorful mexican chicken I had ever had! We all took to-go boxes home. The place really began to get packed out as we were leaving so you may want to call if you are going on a weekend. Not sure if they take reservations but it may be a good idea to try. So excited to have found this place and since it is in North Raleigh off of Durant, it is a short drive for us from Wake Forest. We will def be back!

Delicious food, friendly owners, and clean to boot! My favorite is their take on a classic: arroz con pollo. They really take it and make it into something delicious. The food tastes homemade with lots of flavor and the lime margaritas are perfectly tasty. I also appreciate their vegetarian options and indoor or outdoor seating. Not sure what the other comments are talking about as the place seemed very clean. The owners and chefs are very nice and take pride in their work and you can taste it in their yummy food. I will definitely be eating there more often.

decided to wait a few weeks til they settled in… the shredded beef in my dorados was tasty but dry. no cheese no nothing. Small place in the former seafood place(actually 2 seafood places) on Durant Rd. This location just seems to be the kiss of death for any restaurant. Plus side. wait staff was attentive; they didn’t remove the nice long bar that was there so maybe after hours it is a hotspot.
