They have never messed up an order. I’m a photographer. I’ve never been discontent with the final product. The prices are feasible. And worth every penny. I send my film photography friends there. I put in an order for bumper stickers today. I know they will come out right. I trust the people there. There’s free coffee. Friendly atmosphere. Great service. Ready in about 2 days and it’s $ 11 for a set of prints and a DVD. There hours are 10am-​6pm M-​F. I love this place. I think the best kept secret in Raleigh. I always grab their free bumper stickers and put them on my car. I enjoy advertising and printing them, because it’s the best place I’ve gone to for photography, prints, stickers, canvas, everything.

Basically came here after checking on 4 other places. I spoke with the owner, showed him the work (graphite on paper), he said he could do it.
Came back to pick it up and it looked amazingly bad. Had to go over it entirely. Additionally, front desk chick wanted to charge me 15 bucks more than what I was quoted. She begrudgingly came down but long and short of it is — this was just subpar product here. I’m used to many more options for highly professional work so Raleigh has been a major disappointment, and J W was no exception.

Large Format Printing in Downtown Raleigh

I wanted to blow up some photos to poster size to hang on the wall. I googled large format printing in Raleigh and found J W Photo Labs. And the best news of all, this business is located in downtown Raleigh and is within walking distance of my home. Woohoo! And for others, it is conveniently located less than 1 block from Peace Street on N. West Street and they have a small parking lot. Also if you live further away, you can deal completely online with them and they ship.
Since I’m a novice photographer and have never printed large format, I called J W Photo Lab and asked them a lot of questions. They were very helpful and more than willing to answer my questions. They never made me feel stupid, which I appreciated. They said I could upload my photos online and they could take a look to determine the size I could print. But I wanted to talk with a person face to face and they invited me to stop by at any time. I dropped in the other afternoon with my memory stick and Megan helped me out. She viewed my photos and described my options including mounting on foam board. They use a foam board called Gator Foam Board which Megan said it is foam board with plastic on both sides making it stronger and more durable. She wasn’t sure about how large the photos could be printed without losing clarity and quality so she asked a guy from the back, obviously some one who knows some thing, to check out the photos. He said I could go as large as 24 in. by 36 in. I ordered 3 different photos to be printed to the designated size and mounted on the Gator Board. Since I ordered 3 prints, I received a discount, which came out to be about 40% off. If you plan to blow up a few photos, do the all at once to receive the discount. Megan said she couldn’t have the prints ready for a week. They usually have a faster turn around time but they were in the middle of printing jobs for the annual furniture market. She said they would call me if the prints weren’t going to be ready by the target date and time.
My husband went to pick up the prints a few hours after the target time and they were not ready. It was disappointing that we were not contacted by J W Photo Labs to inform us of the delay. It wasn’t a big deal since we live close by and we were not in a rush but Megan said we would be notified if there was a delay.
The prints were finished the next day and my husband and I were incredibly pleased with the results… beyond ecstatic! They looked fantastic! The prints have made the wall in our home into a masterpiece gallery. We recently had a party and every one commented on the photos. I look forward to working with J W Photo Labs again and I highly recommend them for large format printing.
