Went for the first time today due to me boycotting the other one on Capital and boy did I regret it. The ceilings were dirty and moldy due to not cleaning the filters. Now to the food and I can see why their sanitation grade is only 90 they have a very limited menu as opposed to the other locations on Capital. Now here is where it gets good I found Hair in my Lomein and my 6 year found Hair in his French Fries! And me saying this caused a stir in there to the point where just about every waitress had to come and check to see if it was really Hair in our food. The manager was decent in his first attempt to give me a $ 3 discount off my food which caused me to say I don’t think so which then led to him removing the charge for 1 Adult Meal $ 12.99.Safe to say that I will never ever be eating at this place again. The Golden Corral that was there was horrible and this place has picked right up where they left off. Do yourself a favor and avoid this nasty place you can do much better than this.

After many years of eating here(we were one of their first customers), we were shocked to be disrespected twice within 7 days. Both last Friday and today, the lousy server grabbed up a plate from our table without even asking if we were done with it. Today, it was a different server from Friday but one who worked with the one that disrespected us Friday. Table was #58. I went to the manager and asked him to discharge this person at once. I’d have kicked her out the door without opening it. The manager promised to handle it and get rid of her but offered no compensation for having our lunch ruined by this incompetent fool. My wife says we will never come back. Of course, no gratuity was left,

Has its ups and downs… It’s only $ 10.65 for lunch on a Tuesday… Good food, I love the selection… My only downfall, and its a BIG downfall. Customer service… I’m just a single guy on his lunch break. Why do I feel like I’m being watched and rushed out the door? I can’t believe I’m saying this. But it could be some of the worst restaurant server experience I’ve ever had. She gave me this bill once I got my 2nd plate… Which is fine, but I didn’t ask for it! Lol I’ll try again one day but I am in NO rush to get back :/ Great food, Unfortunately.

Returned to one of my favorite buffets after many years and was terribly disappointed. Price and selection are the only positive aspects to this Restaurant. Servers are indifferent to the point of being rude, that is, when they grace you with their presence. 90 health grade posted which speaks volumes to their lack of operational processes and controls. Saw the Grade as I departed or I would not have stayed. Will not return!

Food is decent, they do pretty well at keeping the buffet stocked and fresh. LOTSOFVARIETY. They had so many options to choose from, including a mongolian grill and a large array of sushi that is also included in the buffet that is actually pretty impressive for a asian buffet. The sushi is OK, it’s just nice that they try to mix it and offer at least 15 different rolls although, they are pretty basic when it comes to ingredients… salmon, avocado, tempura, cream cheese, cucumber, basically just in different orders on different rolls lol. But it wasn’t half bad. Now the service there… that’s a whole different story. It’s horrible. I’ve been there several times with a lot of different people and if there is anything they are really consistent with is their poor service with the many, barely speak english, servers. Now it’s really hard to displease me as I can be a little too forgiving and understanding but you know what. The girls there just suck. You could literally be in the middle of putting the fork in your mouth and they will just reach right in front of your face and over your food(MINDYOU I AMABOUTTOTAKE A BITEHERE) to grab either a glass to refill or a dirty empty plate. This has happened on several occasions and not even just to myself but to the other people having a meal with me. You could even ask them not to do that and then it’s like they still do it just to spite you. Now IDK if it’s just a language/culture barrier or what, but that is not okay. I’m asian myself but jeez people. Then the last time I went with my fiancé and 6 month old, we finished our meal and were about to leave to pay at the front desk until our server said«Oh you can pay me, pay me here» and I told her don’t worry about it as I know she is busy as it was a pretty busy lunch hour so before we could start making our way to the front, she’s looking around at the table for a tip(which we were going to process on the debit card slip since we didn’t have cash) and then literally raced to the front desk, interrupted the poor girl that was ringing me up, yelled at her and then proceeded to finish my transaction. My fiancé and I were like ummm okay… she told me the total and asked for the card which I started to hand over and the little b**** snatched it out of my hands! Literally the worst thing you could do as a employee or even as a customer! It’s SO hard to make me upset, especially in customer service as I have the patience of a 110 yr old monk but after her reaching across our food and faces, demanding tip, racing to the front desk, yelling at the poor girl that was already there, and then snatching my card. I had to do what I have never ever done before. I left her a big fat goose egg. My fiancé was watching me as I went to sign the slip and whispered to me «what are you going to leave her? don’t leave her anything» which my first thought was no, I can’t do that, as a previous server of 8 years myself, that’s the worst thing you could do especially when your pay depends on those tips but then I looked up to see if she was watching ANDTHE B**** WASFREAKINGHOVERINGOVERME as I was deciding on the tip! It was absolutely ridiculous. But ANYHOW, food is pretty good, lots of variety and the plentiful sushi is a plus yet if you’re looking for the worst service in Raleigh… it’s here.

Phenomenal variety! They’ve got all the fundamental Chinese food fare represented and a whole lot more. Bonus they have a hibachi chef that will cook to order your selections. Also they have sushi made right there, and my wife says it’s pretty darn good. Overall a way above average Chinese buffet. 5 stars if this is rating a buffet, 4 stars for overall restaurant.

I Just came from this place and all I have to say is if you like being treated like shit this place is for you! ! :) waitress was rude as hell she kept trying to make us pay while we were still eating and even chased us to our car in the parking lot because she couldn’t count since she claimed we didn’t pay the full price when we did. I have never been disrespected and mistreated this bad at ANY place I have ever been. F*** this place. Never going back here again and will never recommend it to anyone!!!

Was in the area and since I’m always up for some Asian food decided to stop in and give this place a try. Being a buffet, I wasn’t expecting the highest standard as far as food is concerned. Came during lunch hours so I paid about $ 9. I didn’t get a drink as I wasn’t sure if it was included in the buffet price or not and the hostess didn’t seem to speak very good English. This place seems very popular as it was very busy and most of all the tables were full. I was surprised at how well the cooks kept up with the demand of the people. They were constantly bringing out new food every few minutes. One of the first things I noticed about this place was that they offered SOOO many different items, more then I’m used to at an Asian buffet. They had everything you’d find at an Asian buffet from noodles, fried rice, a sushi bar, seafood, veggies, lots of meat dishes, salad, soups, desert and many more options. I stuck to my normal choices. My first plate I got a variety of sushi, green beans, spring rolls and chicken broccoli with mushrooms. Second round I got noodles and chicken wings. All of the food were fresh tasting and flavorsome. If you’re wanting something quick and not expensive, this is a good option for you. There are many choices and the quality of food is pretty good. I’d give this place a 7 out of 10.

There are some really grotesque Chinese restaurants(regular and buffet) in Raleigh… dark, dirty spaces with greasy food made with poor quality ingredients. What a relief to stumble across this place! It’s clean, it’s spacious, and it seems to be busy all the time so the buffet is always fresh/topped off. But you don’t really notice the other diners much or hear them because of the room/booth set-up. There’s a you-pick Hibachi area too. I hate seafood, but my mom sampled it all(except crawfish!) and loved it. Are the waitresses a bit disinterested? Sure. But tips are notoriously crappy at buffets so I doubt they feel the usual incentive to fawn over the guests. For fresh and delicious Chinese food with plenty of variety, I’d be willing to bus my own table and get refills at a drink station. This is our new go-to«cheat day» restaurant of choice.

Our usual Chinese buffet spot was a bit off on our last visit so we searched Unilocal for an alternative. Hibachi China looked like a worthy option so we made a visit. The parking lot was full when we arrived so it appears they have a following. The building looks like an old Golden Corral so it’s pretty spacious. The staff is friendly and keeps the drinks filled and the plates cleared, only encouraging us to go back for more! There sure is a lot to choose from! Almost everything we tried was pretty tasty. Normally at a Chinese buffet if there’s sushi I’ll have some of that first, but I got so distracted trying different things on the buffet I never even made it to it! The surprise came when we went to pay the bill. On Sunday it’s the dinner price, even at lunch, so about $ 10 each. We didn’t have coupon, but now we know for next time!

Large variety of Asian foods, as well as traditional American. Sushi is plentiful… Had about two dozen options when we stopped by here for lunch. Hibachi grill is available for made-to-order plates. Was pleasantly surprised to find out that lunch pricing is only $ 8/person which is a nice bargain price if you ask me. The place was pretty packed to capacity, and the cooks kept on re-filling all of the food trays, rushing back and forth from the back, so every 2 minutes something fresh and/or new was coming out it seemed. Location is convenient right off Capital Blvd, although official address here is listed on Millbrook Rd. We’ll be back again for sure!

Don’t be fooled in thinking this is a Habachi restaurant. Nothing compared to a Benihana. It’s a full on Asian buffet, with a flat stove behind the counter. Pretty disappointing.

Louis C. K. once said, «I don’t eat until I’m full. I eat until I hate myself.» That was how I felt by the time I stopped eating. There was a wide array of food choices. The moment I walked into the restaurant, I was a little overwhelmed by the options. There were hot food, cold food, noodle soups, hibachi grill, and sushi. For the price of only $ 12.99, you can eat to your heart’s content. The sushi bar had 5 different nigiris(mussel, imitation crab, octopus, white fish, and salmon), and many, many rolls to choose from, including deep fried and non-deep fried options. The nigiri sushi was not as fresh as I had hope. However, I really enjoyed the deep-fried roll covered with eel sauce. I guess you could never go wrong with deep fried food! The hot bars choices included the typical Americanized Chinese options and tons of seafood(crab, crawfish, salmon, shrimp, clams, octopus). I didn’t try the seafood but the rest was just average tasting. The grilled beef was really good though. It was cooked to medium rare and very tender! My final trip to buffet involved noodle soups. I love noodles soups and did not want to miss out on this. I was having a hard time choosing so I asked the cook for suggestion. He was very nice and allowed me to sample the soups with only the toppings and without the addition of noodles. The curry soup that I tried was delicious with rich coconut flavors. The shrimp in the soup tasted fresh too! If this was a wrestling match between the buffet and I, I think the buffet had won. I was so stuffed even without having the chance to try everything on the menu.

This is a great selection of chinese food, seafood and sushi. They also have a hibachi grill. The price is right. It can be really crowded during peak times but there is always plenty of fresh food.

I have passed by this place about 10,000 times. Never felt the need to go since I’ve had a few bad experiences at chinese buffet spots. Friend wanted Chinese and this was the closest spot. First clue that this was a tad bit different was that there was a guy taking names on the wait list. Wait a tic… a wait list? Ummm ok. This spot is crowded and I do mean crowded. Like Golden Corral on a holiday with free dinners. And loud. So many kids in there you’d think that Hibachi was doing a side business as a daycare center. And of course none of the so-called parents were actually doing any parenting. There’s a center grill spot where you can get hibachi-style fare cooked to order. On the other side of this is the sushi bar. If that is your thing. You can even watch your sushi getting prepared which is pretty interesting. Kanki’s this isn’t but it’s not a bad thing. There is a pretty good salad bar and dessert area. The rest of the buffet is your typical Chinese food menu items but you’ll find lobster, crab and shrimp here as well. The strips of steak I sampled were very tasty but the bbq chicken squares were very dry. This is a 3.5 star kind of place… almost a four star if it wasn’t so loud that you almost cannot have a conversation with your dinner companion. You’ll spend most of your time trying to enjoy your food while hearing EVERYTHING that your neighboring tables have to say. And the kids screaming… wow… it’s like razors scraping down your auditory canals. Want to feel full? For about $ 15? Come here. Want a conversation and a nice, relaxed environment? Go elsewhere. Good food though except for the chicken. Best part. unlike most other chinese food… I wasn’t hungry again two hours later. Happy chop-stickin’!

This restaurant was an impulse-lunch decision, but I’m happily free of luncher’s regret. In fact, it was a pleasant experience, start to finish – well, middling to finish. You see, the start was a Unilocal search, and this helpful dialogue: «There’s a buffet,» my brother suggested. «Let’s go there.» Great, thought I, a buffet with mediocre Unilocal reviews. No problem. But, being one to brave even the most mediocre-sounding events, I agreed. Worst case scenario, I’d get to join in the three-star cacophony. Best case scenario, we’d have a new way of feeding a large family armed with hearty appetites. A good risk. As we pulled into the surprisingly busy parking lot, I was pleasantly surprised. The exterior of the building looked impressively nice – so nice, in fact, that it caught me off guard, and my only comment was, «They have doors!» Yes, the Hibachi Buffet has doors! And, not only do they have doors, they have four walls – or more! – and enough seating to swallow the hordes lunching there at 1:00 without feeling crowded. The food selection was diverse and routinely well-made. My veggie tempura and mini pizza bites were well-cooked and tasted good, and the teriyaki chicken was only slightly dry.(We also discovered that the apple sticks taste great with pudding and a little bit of garlic sauce. Happy accident.) There was also a great selection of fish products for my secretly-a-fishaphore brother, and a round bar that served sushi and fresh-made meals. Or served as a containment unit for chefs, The Avengers-style. All in all, it was a buffet lunch, but it was a darn good buffet lunch. If you’re looking for the best, most accurate cuisine, I and my pizza bites are uncertain if this is the place to turn.(Then again, I didn’t get a chance to look into the meals at the bar.) But if you want an interesting, varied buffet meal with enough pudding to properly douse your apple sticks, Hibachi Buffet is a good stop. And did I mention that we fed two people for $ 17? Not bad at all.

Very impressed with the décor of this restaurant. It certainly looks nothing like it did in its days as a Golden Corral. As this was my first time here, I would have appreciated if the person that seated us had asked if it was the first visit or not and as least explained the layout or what dining options were available with the sushi and/or the grill. Dinner service begins at 4pm weekdays and is $ 12.99 a person. We started with the salad area If one wanted fruit salad, there were a lot of options. For the garden salad lovers the selection was very disappointing. From the dinner buffet I selected the steak, which was plentiful. However I found it to be not very tender and a few pieces were just above rare. The baked chicken was very meaty, but only warm and lacking in seasoning. Mashed potatoes tasted as if from a mix — certainly not made on premises. Sliced ham was tasty, and the buttered rolls were large and hot. I found the description of the french fries as «potato wedges» amusing. For dessert I had a bowl of ice cream, and was pleased to see many selections of flavors. I did not eat the sushi because I’ve never had it. While the presentation looked very nice, there was no labeling for the novice like me to know what the various rolls contained. I also had no idea of the grill and if the chef would custom make something out of the various items for you. Service was prompt and maybe a little over anxious. It is like they were standing close by waiting for you to finish a plate so it could be removed from the table. Our check was in a holder just above our table waiting for us to ask for it. Server even asked the moment she put it on the table if I wanted her to go ahead and take the payment. I’m all for efficiency but this was overkill!

Stunned and mystified. Stunned at the quality for the price, and mystified as to why the heck we haven’t been here before, especially considering we live within a few miles. My goodness, if you can’t find something or many somethings to like here, than you can’t be looking right! Our experience began around 3:00 today(a Saturday afternoon). Thinking it was an off-time to eat, we were surprised at the number of cars in the parking lot and by the almost full restaurant. By the time we left, we were not surprised at all. This place is definitely where to go when you’re hungry for big flavors and huge variety. Never mind how many plates some of us went through to experience a good amount of that variety, but at least I served up small portions, so as to try as much as possible. Favorites for me were the sweet and sour fish with cauliflower, the black pepper chicken, lo mein, steamed fish, potstickers, green beans, broccoli in several dishes, cold boiled shrimp with tasty cocktail sauce. Even the fresh honeydew melon and pineapple were ripe and delicious. I am not exactly sushi-savy, but the couple pieces I tried were sure yummy! Husband found a whole bunch of other items that he enjoyed as well, and even thought the cookies n cream ice cream was great. We both agreed we want to go back and try the Mongolian-type station, as well as the noodle bowls. Having never been here before, and not asking in advance, we had NO idea what all of this was going to cost us. Much to our jaw-dropping amazement, the bill was a mere $ 20 for two(and that included two iced teas). Minor critiques would be that I would have loved a knife, but never saw one(could have asked though and I didn’t)…napkin container on our table ran out while we were there… husband had to wait a bit for tea to be replenished… and the restroom, although overall clean, was left untidy by obviously way too messy guests(what’s WRONG with some people???) Again, minor things. Seriously don’t know how they are doing this kind of quality for this kind of price, but as long as they’re willing, well… so are we!
