It’s Harris Teeter not much to be said, food produce and this has the best meat department around and the seafood which not whole foods certainly is definitely far better than lowes or the sh$ty kitty. Polite staff but hey all seem to work at a very slow pace.

Gotta LOVE the customer service when stopping by the neighborhood grocer. Judith, the Assistant Manager, has a positive attitude and understands that building relationships with customers increases brand loyalty. The folks behind the deli counter and the seafood counter are also cheery and very helpful when you are trying to make a decision on your purchase. But I can’t overlook the amazing women that are the Pharmacists ~ Desiree and Kelly ~ who are always busy but never fail to stop and share a smile and hello. Now that’s what I call delightful.

I rarely go to Harris Teeter because(a) they are not in my neighborhood and(b) I usually wind up spending more than I would in a typical visit to my local Food Lion. this week I decided to shop here after looking at the weekly ad. This is not the easiest location to find. You certainly will not see it from either Capital Blvd. or Falls of Neuse Rd. One of the specials that brought me in the door this week was a buy get 3 free special on deli meats and cheese. Great value! I also took advantage of several BOGO specials and a few specials I did not see in the weekly ad. Because I stuck to the plan and 85% of my purchase was specially priced items, the final tally was in the reasonable range. Few things I do like about HT. I can find products that I cannot find elsewhere. Big fan of the deli and the $ 4.99 meal deal and the deli sandwiches. Appreciated that a cashier came to me and took me to another register for my checkout.

Good grocery store and usually the line is fast. Not today– wonder if it has anything to do with being bought by Kroger. Who would think they might need extra checkers on a Saturday?

What can I say it is a grocery store. It is new, it has everything I need under one roof. OK it is not a Piggly Wiggly but HT will have to do.

Very odd placement. The only thing over here is a division of Rex hospital. That’s it. Kind of weird. But as always, HT rocks!

I look for reasons to go to this Harris Teeter. This locale is on my way to work in the morning so I stop by a lot and grab muffins or some other sort of breakfast grab and go from the bakery. It is also nice because it is easy to get in and out of. I have been at all times during the day and night and have never had to wait in a long line. Perhaps this is because it is sort of hidden down in Wakefield and not seen by New Falls of the Neuse or Capital Blvd traffic. The store has decent prices, I usually like to get things on VIC special. They have a fabulous staff that is ALWAYS hospitable. The selections are good, but since it is a smaller store they don’t have as much as the larger Harris Teeters but this can easily be overlooked by how gleaming the store is. It is always super clean and a impeccably neat.

First of all, let me say that this store is absolutely spacious + awesome inside. The manager was SO helpful in my pursuits to find an insulated bag and 5lbs of dry ice(yes, I was express mailing some delicious Bojangles to some friends in Cali). She’s SO awesome that she helped me TWICE with getting the dry ice — it’s locked and you need help retrieving the dry ice treasures inside(gloves b/c you CANNOT touch it with your bare hands). **FYI — Dry ice will dissolve in your freezer into empty nothingness — so only get it if you are putting it in an unrefrigerated space(like a cooler, box, etc). There — you learned something new today!

I visited this Harris Teeter for the first time yesterday. In fact it may be my first ever visit to any Harris Teeter. It will also be my last time to ever visit any Harris Teeter. I normally shop at Food Lion, or the Kroger that is across the street from this HT. However, the Kroger is going out of business, so I went to get what I could at the Kroger then decided to go across the street to check out this Harris Teeter. I had a terrible experience. The store is near impossible to find unless you know it’s there. There is no stoplight at the development road intersection making it difficult crossing traffic to enter the store road. The parking lot is cramped. I was already dreading having to exit the store before I ever got in. Once inside, I immediately felt distracted all around. There’s just too much crap crammed inside this store, its way too busy visually and physically. The store layout is complete backwards from any store I’ve ever been to. Produce section is to your left, cash registers to the right. You go towards the right to get to the frozen food section. I walked into the produce section and immediately noticed $ 6 watermellons. The same ones I just saw at Kroger for $ 4 just a few minutes ago. I started checking prices and everything I saw was priced much higher than I’m used to. Examples Water for $ 0.99 was $ 1.39 here for the same quality store brand. Chicken breasts were over $ 5.00 a pound here. I found a VIC card sale sign for some meat, but the packages of meat referenced were no where near the sign. I spent 10 minutes analyzing the sign and shelves trying to find the correct product. Store brands were hard to identify, I figured I’d try and find store brands to be cheaper however I had to search for them on the shelves. Regardless, I tried to pick some store brands and items on VIC, and went to pay. At first there was no cashiers at any registers. They were all marked closed, but the self checkouts were open. I was not going to self checkout. Finally a cashier came to her register, and I was confused about how to even get to her. The checkout stand layout was not anything I had seen before, but I eventually figured out that I had to push my cart on one side of the candy rack, then walk back around that rack to get in line for the cashier. The cashier pulled the cart up and unloaded it directly onto the scanner. The total rang up to just over $ 30.00, and the cashier asked for my VIC card, I said No, I need to get one. So she went to get the paperwork, and handed it to me. I asked if I could bring it back later, she said no, I had to do it now. I didn’t want to hold her line up for me filling out this but she insisted. So I’m reading the application and I see it asks for my drivers license number. I see an * beside that. So I look all over the application for a few minutes for the * meaning but could not find it. The cashier finally asked what was wrong, and I said I’m trying to figure out why the drivers license is needed. She said her manager could explain. I asked is it required to give the number and she said yes. I said no thanks then. She looked very confused and said she would get the manager. I said no, that’s not necessary. But she did still. The manager came and said it was to ensure the same person didnt use the same coupons more than once or something like that. I said ok, whatever, but still no thanks. They both were very confused. She said we do not share it with third parties, no marketing etc. I said I understand, but I’m not interested. Finally she gave up, and I paid the full amount of my purchase. I figure I probably lost about 15 bucks by not having the VIC discount and paying the high prices on other items I brought. But by this time I just wanted to get out and go home and chalk losing my money to lesson learned.

Love this brand new Harris Teeter in Wakefield. Great produce, meat, wine, and cheese selection here. They also offer a nice salad bar with many different selections as well. The craft brew offerings here are a little narrow but serviceable. Prices are a little higher than other grocery stores like Lowe’s or Kroger but the quality, clean stores, and selection make it a great place to shop.

The latest Harris Teeter to come to the Triangle area has several things going for it that others in the area lack: 1. Cheese counter 2. Boars Head products 3. Express shopping(haven’t tried it) 4. Located across from Krogers Oh why did I have to go and say that? Well HT still lacks in the Organic /Vegetarian department. So I often find half the list remains unchecked and I have to head over to Krogers –which I like less for every thing else– and finish there. Would it kill them to stock current Tofu? Other than that, I am a big fan. The produce is fine, double coupons makes me happy and my roommate likes the meats there better. The people here in this store are even cheerier than most HT employees and you can even find someone to help you if you need to. I have switched which HT I go to now that this one is open. What would make it perfect? If a Traders Joe moved in next store.

Brand new Harris Teeter just opened at the REX Health care center at the corner of Capitol and New Falls of Neuse. This sparkly new HT opens with the produce section heading around the left hand side of the store(which is completely opposite of most HT stores in the area). The store contains everything that you can find at most other local HT stores as well as the following: — A much larger cheese island — Boars Head Meats and Cheeses in the Deli — More amply stocked seafood department(vs. other seafood counters in this area) — Larger section of fresh bakery breads Also — triple coupons this week, as well as a lot of incentives to transfer prescriptions, and free groceries for every 400th customer through the register. The cashier made my day when he proudly announced — «Wow! You just saved $ 127 with your VIC card!» Ba-da-bing!
