Had a fabulous experience! Very professional. Kimberly gave me a facial and Semetra the massage. They were both excellent. I was impressed.

I’m visiting out of state for a friends wedding and my girlfriend and I didn’t plan ahead. We called the day prior after trying many local spas for a massage. Without and luck we called Hand and Stone– I had very little expectations going with a chain spa but we wanted a massage. Austin was my massage therapist and he did a fabulous job. He took his time, he asked if I wanted him to specialize in any specific area and it was a great atmosphere. I also paid an additional 15.00 for the peppermint scalp treatment which was beyond fabulous. You really do get a great bang for your buck– I spent 75.00 on a 50 min deep tissue and scalp treatment. I really don’t think you can beat that price matched with his level of service. I highly recommend Austin!

Membership is a good value, but BEWARE… I have been a member for several years. Had a freeze put on once well over a year ago for 3 months and all was fine. Did it again in April and got a $ 10 charge! Only after discovering it on my credit card and calling to see why, I learned they now charge $ 10/mo. to «keep your account active» while it’s on a freeze. So a 3 mo. freeze = $ 30. Not cool.

I absolutely LOVE this place. I’ve been a member for over a year and don’t regret it for a second. The environment is relaxing from start to finish. The receptionists are always super friendly and in time, remember and greet you by name upon walking in the door. I can honestly say that I’ve never had a bad massage or facial at this establishment. I look forward to my monthly visit to Hand & Stone on Falls of Neuse. :)

While it isn’t a super fancy spa like Fearrington or Umstead and located in a strip mall, I still feel like I am getting pampered! I had the membership for about a year and found it more useful to me to stack up my packages and come every other month. I love getting the facials(ask for Carrie) and Melissa gives awesome massages. Both ladies worked on my problem areas and I feel great!

Even though the waxing and facial services I received were good, I made the mistake of being pressured into purchasing a package. I was under the impression from the explanation I received that I had 30 days to cancel before my card was charged. In fact, the receptionist told me that if I changed my mind all I had to do was call and cancel. I had not used the service and was already a customer there so I called to cancel prior to the thirty days and was told I could not until my card was charged for one month. When I explained to the receptionist how it was explained to me she told me I could cancel within the thirty days but had to go in to sign a form. I went in and explained my situation and was rudely told by the receptionist who was working this past Saturday November 1 at 10:15AM that I could not cancel until my card was charged. I explained to her that I had called and was told all I had to do was stop by and the receptionist told me that there wasn’t nothing she could do to help me. When I asked to speak to a manager I was told none was available. I was so frustrated trying to deal with this I left in haste and called when I was in my car and left a message for the manager/owner to call me, this was Saturday and I have not received a call back.

I actually am a member. and I prefer the one in Cary to this one. Regardless, they need to learn to answer the phone without asking you your name right away and for all this information when really, you just wanted to know if they had an available appointment that same day. Either you have an available appointment or you don’t. You don’t need to know my name to do that. And I’m just sick of having to talk so much to people to get a straight answer. Example: AS a member, last time I went, I wanted to maybe get my husband to join too, and found out it would be cheaper to use my ability as a member to buy a gift-card for him as my guest every month than to have him join me in a family membership. As for the massage itself, both for me and my husband on the one occasion we went here, it wasn’t great or bad, and I agree with the other review here about them making checkout stressful. Very unimpressed with the staff overall. Customer service doesn’t mean acting like a robot and asking whatever questions some coroporate memo tells you to. It means LISTENING to the customer, who might start getting annoyed by your intrusive and unnecessarily questions right off the bat… or your taking 20 minutes to check me out… and that’s WITHOUT A LINE!

This was my first massage ever, so i was anticipating what this experience will be becasue I have tight shoulders and knots from working out. Hand & Stone were supper great about changing my appointment to an earlier walk in date so A+ for that. Very nice in greeting me, offering me water, the ambiance was spa like. Unfortunately my masseuse had a crazy horse voice so she couldn’t talk much but all was fine. I had gotten the introductory hot stone massage which was great but my masseuse had spent so much time on my back that she had to rush through my neck and legs and couldn’t even really get the knots out. They do offer the monthly membership which is actually not that bad but the next day I woke up with even more knots in my shoulders and neck pain so not too sure what happened there.

My boyfriend and I went here for the first time last weekend, and we got the couples massage. When I booked the appointment, I said I wanted a 90 minute couples massage with the deep tissue(which cost a little more) followed by a complimentary 10-minute foot wrap/massage. When we arrived, we were about 15 minutes late because we had a detour, and I called before we arrived to let them know we would be behind schedule… and it did no good because the receptionist was talking in a very low tone, and I had to ask her to repeat herself like three times… and she eventually hung up on me. And when I called back, the line was busy. Anyway, so when we arrived, we didn’t get to start our massages until 15 minutes after we got there even though we already had reserved that time. When we get back to the beds, the massage therapists tell us they can only massage us for 30 minutes, and the massages were the WORST ever… in fact, my boyfriend and I were both in more pain and more unhappy when we left than when we came in… and our massages were clearly not deep tissue which is what we had paid extra for. Whenever we went to pay, we were charged for the 90 minute massages even though we only got massaged for 30 minutes. I asked the receptionist why our appointment time wasn’t reduced to just 60 minutes, and she told me it was because they only had us down for one hour(so they didn’t put down the right time when I had initially called). I believe they really overbooked their appointments, and they didn’t want to look like it was their fault. Additionally, if they try to reduce your cost by offering you a membership package… DON’T DOIT… it’s a complete rip off… you end up paying more in the long run. I will never go back here, and I will not recommend this place to any of my friends. Spend a little more money, and go somewhere else with better quality!

I had a 50 minute hot stone massage and an additional foot wrap/treatment. The services themselves were good, the bed was comfy. However, this is a chain and one thing about these chains is they are a business first. As soon as you walk out into the lobby to pay, they hound you to buy products, sign up to be a member, purchase packages, etc. After you get through declining all of that for the 20th time, the lady tried to charge me full price when I was supposed to get the introductory rate. I literally had to pull up their own website to show her that she was charging me the wrong amount. So all in all, I won’t go back, I prefer NON chain spas because they don’t hound you to shovel out more money, what a way to ruin the relaxation!

I woke up with a headache in the morning so I decided getting a massage was the way to go. I called and scheduled a same day massage which was important. The waiting room itself is not much nor do they have a changing area or showers. You go into the room and have your massage. The massage itself was excellent by Melissa, I used a Unilocal check in and got a 10 minute hot towel foot massage promotion. This was a nice bonus and would have cost $ 10. The only thing that caused me from giving them five stars is that the head and scalp massage was not included so I had to pay an extra $ 15 for this. Coming in with a headache I had no problem paying the extra money and getting 15 minutes of a scalp and head massage with peppermint oil. It smelled great and my headache vanished from the massage. They have a plan where massages/facials are reduced but I wasn’t interested in a monthly plan. I like to take advantage of specials for first time customers like here $ 50 today, or Groupons, Living Social, etc. All in all it was a wonderful experience, telling me about the monthly plan took two seconds and didn’t detract from my happy massage mood. I would certainly return if they have a special again for second time customers.

I’m sorry to the other comments. Although, Ashley was awesome at the massage, the staff was nice and the place was clean. That’s where it all ends. If you’re looking for a spa experience, you’re not going to get it at Hand and Stone. You have to wait in the front lobby until your time and then there is not another room to change your clothes then the massage room. And at the end of your relaxing time, you check out and are hit with the sales pitch to join the health and wellness program. Kind of puts a kink in your relaxation knowing that it truly is about the bottom line for the business. I have been to quite a few other real spas and have never had this experience. Personally, I would rather spend a little more and get the whole relaxation package. You can’t truly relax if you feel rushed. Just sayin’

This Hand & Stone location is always kept clean and the staff is warm and courteous. I’ve had several great massages here and joined the monthly wellness plan. While Hand & Stone’s monthly plan is as affordably priced as other memberships, it just doesn’t feel as «corporate,» which is a good thing. Abee was particularly great during my last visit. The receptionists always help me make my appointment with my preferred therapist, even if I call that day(which I do often, haha.)
