Very very underwhelming. Your«smothered» burrito had nothing more than a little drizzle added. The only evidence of it was the hardly there layer of your topping choice on the plate. If it didn’t cost $ 12 for an average sized burrito without much filling and no sides, it’d be a much better experience. The flavors were good and the guac wasn’t bad. Need some salt and maybe a squeeze more lime, but chunky and that’s always a plus. My mother in law got 2 tacos that had good flavor but were soooo small with very little filling. Not worth $ 3-$ 5 a taco by any means. Service was pretty slack as well, but it did seem like there was only 1 girl serving and maybe 2 hosts?

Went here last night before seeing a movie because hey it’s hard to mess up Tex mex right? Wrong. Absolutely wrong. Once we were seated it was about 15 mins before our waitress came over. She was standing 5 feet away hugging and talking to some man that apparently works there as well. Then she brought my fiancé the wrong beer. I started having my doubts about the place but what can you expect when the staff wears leggings and old tshirts with unwashed hair. We ordered the ACP and taco salad nachos. The ACP’s rice wasn’t cooked all the way and the nachos were burned and absolutely nasty. The lettuce they slapped on there was slimy and the sour cream had an odor to it. After 20 mins I finally got the margarita I ordered. I had ordered the smaller pineapple specialty and was brought the bigger size and charged for the larger one even after pointing it out. The waitress seemed sweet but it was impossible to get her attention and getting the check took about 20 mins. Later that night we both had upset stomachs so we will not be returning.

Really like this place. The food is great for the price. We usually sit at the bar and the service is great. The fish tacos, in particular, are good. Nice place to meet friends before a movie.

Possibly the worst non-fast food restaurant I have ever been to. We stopped by Flying Burrito before seeing a movie at Raleigh Grande, with low expectations — thinking, how much can you mess up Tex Mex? So much, as it turns out; so very much. First they tried to seat us way over yonder in the«kid’s» room — a bare side room of some previous alternate use, with some tables tables and chairs plunked down, even though there were several tables open in the main dining room. A measly basket of tortilla chips served with the most watery salsa I have ever seen was the highlight of the meal. The pork and pinto bean«junior» burrito with pork green chili sauce I ordered was miniature and utterly and completely inedible. Aside from its complete lack of seasoning, the scant filling was clearly spooned out of a pot of severely burned pork and bean mush(and also incredibly spicy hot). It was at least 15 minutes before we could get the attention of the waitress to order an alternate chicken taco, but we needn’t have wasted our time — a plop of unseasoned shredded chicken spooned over a sprinkling of what I guess was shredded soggy iceberg lettuce on a flour tortilla.(I didn’t realize cheese was extra and must be specially requested.) After an interminable wait to request and another to receive the check and another to retrieve our credit card, we scrammed out of that place — never ever to return.

I took my three granddaughters along with my wife here. It was Taco Tuesday so most of us had tacos. I ordered three different ones along with a flavored margarita. The flavors were good but the liquid in two of them leaked down my arm and dripped on my shirt front. The waiter was unfriendly and seemed rushed as we had to go find our own napkins and utensils off the edge of the bar. When I tried repeating the order from my granddaughter who has a soft voice, he looked at me with one eyebrow higher than the other and said in a short response, «I heard.». I could have dealt with the drips but not the drip.

I moved to the N. Raleigh area about a year ago and began to be a regular at the Flying Burrito. I quickly became a regular as I would sometimes get home from work late and did not feel like cooking. The place stays open pretty late on most nights. I quickly became a fan of the tacos(especially Taco Tuesday’s) and the wonderful margaritas. They have some very interesting margarita flavors like a mango margarita. The fish tacos are my favorite. I can honestly say that these are the best fish tacos I have tasted anywhere. What I like is that they do not use chopped up pieces of fish masquerading as a fish taco, but rather, a large generous portion of golden fried fish with a spicy sauce and slaw lightly dressed in a tortilla. You have to see and taste this to believe it. The word must be getting around because in the year since I started coming to the Flying Burrito the crowds have grown exponentially, especially on Taco Tuesday’s. I have seen some reviewers complain that it is not authentic Mexican. Well, if authentic Mexican is what you want, go find that restaurant, there are quite a few in the area. If you want a great place with a courteous staff, good food, good drinks, and a great atmosphere then come to the Flying Burrito. Did I mention the fish tacos? See my picture. Better yet… go get some… you will not regret it.

The interior of this place will totally surprise you. The prices are a little higher than I expected, but we were starving anyway and didn’t pay much attention. I’m thankful we didn’t. The stuffed avocado appetizer was awesome! The shrimp tacos were delicious! The steak quesadilla was mouth watering! The music was great, 90s alternative rock. I would definitely recommend this place and we will return!

Don’t go here if you want a full blown mexican meal. But if you want some great tacos(cheap) and some good drinks go here. It’s a total local place and that’s what I like about it. Nice and easy and you can get food quick before going to see a movie(right next door) and then come back after for some drinks! The also have some great veggie options which even I as a meat eater love. They have awesome bloodys($ 4 on Sunday!). Just need to try their brunch menu now.

They crammed 4 teenage mutant shrimps in a taco built for two and I loved every bite of it. I mean if these shrimp were any bigger they would have got ID’d at the bar.

The service was good, and our appetizer was great – Stuffed Avocado. If you’ve never had a warm avocado, this is the place to try one! A seared avocado half stuffed with seasoned ground chicken, onions, peppers, rice & black beans topped with melted cheese. Served with poblano aioli & chips on the side. The poblano aioli tasted a lot like regular mayo, but the dish itself was very good. For my entrée I had a Rooster Enchilada, and this is where things shifted to slightly disappointing. It was very bland. And for all I know, an authentic enchilada may be bland, but I’m used to something a little more flavorful. It was served with rice and my choice of beans and was only $ 4.50, so really, how good does it need to be? I joke! Your food should always be good, but it is a matter of personal taste. Although I didn’t try one, their Margarita menu looked great. I’ll try this place again and order something other than the enchilada!

First time back since they were in that Travel Channel show, but I think it’s gotten better. The sweet potato fries with apple butter was amazing as always and the chips/salsa flow never subsided. The vegetarian options were great(my wife got the veggie tacos). I got the Ultimate Porker with extra jalapenos. It was fantastic, the meat was moist and not overly cooked, and the jalapenos were the perfect touch. You can’t go wrong with this place. Plus, I hear they might be installing corn hole sets soon for the customers.

My go to for fish tacos. Beware of the super spicy mayo the next day. While it’s cute and the fish taco rocks my socks off I haven’t found another taco on the menu I really love. The staff is OK though pretty blasé. This is the only reason it’s missing a star.

The Flying Burrito is great. Very laid back place with a decent beer selection. They also have some great Margaritas! I’ve been there a few times now and have the ordered tacos, burritos and quesadillas. I haven’t been disappointed yet! All meals come with chips and salsa, and the guacamole is definitely worth ordering as well. They have corn hole and outdoor seating to enjoy during the summer months. Its great for large groups and the wait staff have always been wonderful.

Heard tons of commercials on the radio, so we figured we’d drive the 30 minutes to check it out. Had like 3 different waiters, had a coupon for free quest and they charged us for it. Had a steak taco, but it was like chewing on a dog toy. Straight rubber. There’s an outside area but it’s crammed together, not that anyone was even there. It’s also in a weird location and building looks run down. There’s so many places in Raleigh, don’t choose to eat here. The goodwill next to it though is quite fabulous.

Honestly, I can’t remember what I had, but I do remember mine was very good, but my boyfriend’s was not. It was crazy slow in the afternoon, so we opted to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine! They have great outside seating. The service was anywhere but. I’m not sure what the problem was, but they didn’t seem interested in us. We might try it again and chose different menu items. Great little location though.

It was a slow night but me and my best friend had a great time. We sat outside where out waiter was attentive, funny, and us feel like this was our old watering hole. We had the cilantro margaritas which were probably the margaritas I’ve had in the Triangle. The Outer Banks tacos were also quite tasty. Zero complaints about this place. Will come visit again soon!

This place was obnoxious and the food was terrible. I went on ‘taco Tuesday’ and it was packed though I really don’t understand why given the abysmal quality of the food. I got a stuffed avocado and a side of chips and salsa. The salsa had no flavor even though I got the spiciest one. Total waste of money there. The stuffed avocado was even worse. It seems like there’s no way a stuffed avocado could possibly be bad-avocados are delicious after all. However, this place managed to make it bad. The ground chicken it was stuffs with was a weird pink color which was unnerving. Whatever it was marinated in was strange tasting. I could barely choke it down. The service was terrible as well as the food. It was crowded yes but not crowded enough to justify how slow the service was. The only good thing about this restaurant is the free guacamole I got for checking in. The search for decent Mexican food in raleigh continues…

All I can say is… Come here on TACOTUESDAY for $ 2 tacos! My coworkers and I came here after work on Tuesday this week and I was duly impressed by the food and the prices. We had a wonderfully attentive waiter and he even refilled our chips and salsa after noticing that I devoured the salsa and chips at an alarming pace. The salsa was fresh, tangy, and chunky with tomatoes and cilantro — it clearly did not come from a can. And the chips were thicker than normal storebought tortilla chips – they also had a bit of Cajun seasoning scattered on. I think I ate at least a complete tray of the chips and salsa. My friends and I each ordered 2 – 3 tacos. I tried the fish taco and the ground beef & chorizo taco. The fish taco was amazing. Crispy breading, loaded with lettuce, tomato, cheese, and the fish inside melted in my mouth because it was so tender. Next time I’m ordering 3 – 4 of those fish tacos. The ground beef & chorizo taco was good, but I couldn’t taste any chorizo because there was more ground beef in the taco. You can ask for the lettuce and tomato in each taco for no extra fee, but cheese will cost a little bit extra. The portion size was just right and I actually felt full after eating 2 tacos(and a lot of the chips and salsa…). I’m delighted that I’ve found a go-to place for cheap, good-portioned, delicious tacos. I’m definitely coming back to try their margaritas as well – I was intrigued by the mango flavor option in the menu.
