It was a Sad Evening… I was there for the final dinner… I got my last Greek Salad last Sunday night. Ciagos will be missed greatly. Chris, & Elaina thanks so much. Whether it was a quick lunch, or entertaining guest, Ciagos was always there for me. Many lunches and dinners with friends, many pizzas to go during a busy day at work, a Greek salad between customers, a relaxing dinner before heading home on a busy day. My two favorites menu items were the Pizza and the Greek salad. Best wish on your retirement Chris. I’m looking forward to your cookbook. The Record Krate

This place was okay I had a spinach salad which was very lack luster for the price. The salad dressing was homemade which was nice however the service was very clearly brand-new and needed a lot more guidance and supervision.

I dined at Ciago’s with my parents and grandparents on a Tuesday night. The food was decent, nothing special. Me and my mom split a medium Vegetarian pizza. The sauce is a little sweeter and more garlicky then I normally like, but it wasn’t bad. It did come out very hot and we were able to take a third of the pizza home for leftovers. My grandmother ordered the chicken parmesan and added on eggplant for an additional fee. Her plate was huge and she did not even come close to finishing it all. But she did enjoy it. This would not be my go-to pizza or Italian spot, but I would give them another shot since their entrees were large portions. The restaurant was pretty empty, as we were one of four or five occupied tables. I did notice that the restaurant was loud, despite there not being that many people. So if you are looking for a quiet meal, then this probably isn’t the right place. Our server was extremely nice and patient. My grandparents are not who I would consider to be easy customers since they ask A LOT of questions, but our server listened and answered every question that they threw at him. Overall, it was an A-OK experience. Nothing to rant or rave about.

The food here is great. Get the Wedge salad! The atmosphere is laid back and a perfect little Greek owned Italian restaurant. The pizza is great and fresh. You don’t get that greasy commercial food. On occasion when they aren’t busy, they have actually brought the pizza to my apartment(2 blocks away). This is a great place and the patio is dog friendly.

Came in last night and server said don’t have miller or bud light on draft. The food was good and was a busy night. Server came back many times to say they did have miller light but something was wrong with the draft system.

Food is nothing special and over priced. Calamari was ok but very bland. The pasta sauce had a strange taste to it. 99 cent kids meals were a good deal. Overall would not recommend.

I love this place. Chris Candes knows how to cook. He used to own a fine Diner in New Jersey a long time ago. He came down to North Carolina in the late 70’s at the request of Mike Cederas to be partners with Mike at Two Guys. Chris is Mike’s nephew. The two of them had a great run at Two Guys Restaurant(named after Mike’s two sons) on Hillsborough Street for 34 years until they sold it several years ago… after which time Two Guys went down hill fast because the people who took over the business had no clue on how to run a restaurant and didn’t believe in showing up for work. Now Chris runs Ciago’s with his business partner Bobby Lewis. Mike Cederas retired. Chris’s daughter Elaina works very hard and goes out of the way to make sure you are happy. If you have a problem just ask for Elaina! Chris has alot of knowledge about cooking. .just sit down with him sometime and listen to what he knows. …you will be impressed. He has forgotten more recipes than I will ever know. I will bet my life on that.

Average food — good healthy portions — food was served hot and the server was personable. Will probably give it a second try if I am in the area.

First glance… the bar is nice. Wide. Spacious. Deep rich woods for that lodge feeling. Then I ordered a drink and things went a little sideways. Asked for a gin and tonic. It was a Thursday night. The bartender who was a nice as can be informed me that they were out of tonic for the weekend until their shipment came in on Monday. Ever heard of a Food Lion? Tonic is not contraband and can be purchased legally for about a dollar a bottle to carry you through the weekend. I was a little frustrated so I’m not dismissing them out right. I will go back for a longer look. When they have tonic.

If I could I would give Ciago’s 3.5 stars. This locally owned Italian restaurant is right off of St. Mary’s St. close to Glenwood South. I feel like this restaurant has been a lot of things over the years but Ciago’s seems to be staying. My friend suggested Ciago’s for brunch on a Sunday. They don’t advertise the brunch very well and think they could get a great crowd if they did. My friend thought there was live music which is one of the reasons we came but we were disappointed that nobody was there playing. I came in around 11:30am and was the only person in the restaurant of course I was a little skeptical but by the time we left the place was filling up. The brunch menu has plenty to choose from including omelets, french toast, pancakes, biscuits and gravy and more. I ordered the Greek omelet it came out perfectly cooked with all fresh ingredients, and I really enjoyed the made from scratch potatoes on the side. There is nothing like real«hashbrowns» and they made them right here. Top my brunch off with a large and nicely priced mimosa and I was one happy girl. I enjoyed the laid back atmosphere, and the service was good. A great casual spot for brunch, I’d give it a shot for dinner as well.

Have been there twice now — first time on a Dealsaver deal and I liked the pizza so much I went back. Great pizza — lots of mozzarella, not too much sauce, terrific crust. And both times, really good service. I read it’s the same family that ran Two Guys, which I loved in college. Just a block or two off Glenwood South, definitely worth checking out.

Ciago’s to me is a very standard italian restaurant. If you’re in the mood for a hearty pasta dish, it delivers. You can call ahead to pick up or sit in the dining area, which seems nice enough. The food is well-prepared and the price point could be lower, but isn’t unreasonable.

My gf and I ate here the other night, the waiter, Bob was very friendly and attentive… his service was great… I wish I could say the same about the food. We started off with calamari. it appeared to be prepped in house and had good flavor, but it was so badly overcooked it was like chewing rubber bands and we had to send it back. My gf had the squash soup which was excellent. My salad was fresh and crisp. The bread was home made, fresh and very good. For a main course I had the fettuccine Alfredo, the noodles were cooked well but the Alfredo sauce was nothing more than than a paste of flour and water. My gf had the lasagna. She started spooning out large globs of pasta… chunks of lasagna noodles that were stuck together and had been cut up in squares and tossed in a dish of very watery sauce and covered with a layer of mozzarella cheese. Because of the dichotomy between the very good items we had and the very bad, I assume they do have a good chef working there… unfortunately he was not working the night we were there.

It was all-round ok. Would go there if we were in the neighborhood again, but wouldn’t make a special trip to go there. Our service was fabulous though. :-)

My wife and I plus a friend decided to try this place after seeing positive reviews and people actually inside. First thing we ordered drinks. They don’t have grapefruit juice, so no Seabreeze drinks. My wife and I had the baked ziti. It came in a bowl, and wasn’t baked at all. They may have put it in the oven to reheat it and melt some cheese, but it was greasy and only mediocre. My friends burger was mediocre too. All in all, it was just Ok. We probably won’t be back, there are too many other places to try.

As relaxed and comfy as your favorite leather chair, this is our now our favorite«go to» for a casual, delicious meal. You feel like your having dinner with family. We’ve tried most things on the menu and have never been disappointed. If you went to State back in the 80s &90s, THIS is the authentic Two Guys from Hillsborough. Same delicious taste, same huge portions and the young teenager who ran the cash register is grown up and still«in charge». **take out/delivery is awesome-just DONT order via Unilocal.(Made that mistake). Unilocal will quote 150min delivery. They sub out to DelievryToGo, so online order from them directly. You’ll have steaming hot pasta in less than 45 mins.

My girlfriend and I went here on a Friday night. We order the baked ziti and chicken parmesan. Everything was great, we plan to come back here. Great ambiance, with a nice patio. Looking forward to spending some summer nights here on the weekend.

So I found out about this hidden gem on groupon. I’m not much of a Unilocaler but I had to do it, this place was really good! For $ 12 we had a huge pizza, garden salad, and a drink. The server was nice and helpful. And the food was so fresh and delicious! All of the dressings were made from scratch and you could taste the freshness. I will definitely going back!

This is an italian restaurant in NC that I actually like. Located on St. Mary’s Street on the corner gives the atmosphere an extra charm. Their soups are amazing and the food is very good.

Love this little locally-owned place! The service was good and the food was even better. You also can’t beat the price for what you get. The owner came by and talked a bit, but didn’t announce she was the owner until I asked. I love little places like this downtown!
