Front back shots!!! Its like a little tiny Bloody Mary and I go out of my way to stop by here! I love how cozy the bar is since its in an old house.

Eh, not so much. We stopped in for a beverage only. It is a nice, comfy, intimate place. The service is what kicked it down a star. Not crowded, except for the bar tenders attitude. Pass.

My new favorite drink spot on Glenwood! I love the cool beachy vibe, including the teal color and surfboard décor. Their jalapeño shots are made in house with pickled peppers and come with a yummy bloody mary chaser; this is a must when you stop by. Outdoor seating is plentiful and they have fires for spring nights, which is perfect. I would like for there to be more craft brew options besides crank arm and hope that a larger selection appears as they get more established. Finally, the food selection is quite entertaining and includes cup of noodles and candy. Just a mild advisory: we’ve been there twice on weeknights and both times we were followed by persons wanting money on the street, so be smart.

We LOVE Brooklyn Heights. Such a cool atmosphere and place to have a drink. My boyfriend and his friends had a blast playing huge jengi there and having a boys night out. I picked them up to be their D. D and accidentally left my phone there. The next day the employee who went in that morning helped me get it back by calling my friend who was trying to reach me that day and had even charged it for me. A++ customer service we will be back very soon!

Bartenders give our order to someone else an then ran out of the beer we wanted. No consideration or apology from the bartender who made the mistake with the long beard. Awful experience won’t be back.

Such a chill spot. Located right on one of downtown Raleigh’s main drags, BH is great for watching the scene while not really being in the middle of the scene. It’s next to everything, but the culture here suggests that D-Bags should stay away. The bartenders are great. The costs are relatively low. Music is always on here. Sometimes they have live music. I hope BH stays around for a long time.

A group of friends and I went here for the first time and I can honestly say it was great. We spent most of our time out back on the patio playing corn hole, but while inside we were given great customer service, and we were all please with how all of our drinks were prepared. Both bartenders working that evening were interactive and professional with us at all times. The only thing we would like to see differently is a little more light added on the back patio for cornhole, but that is our only complaint and even then, it didn’t really negatively influence our experience. A great time and highly recommended!

Brooklyn Heights is a great little bar to get away from the craziness on Glenwood. It is hardly ever crowded and their outside area around back is never used by others. It is almost my friends and I secret hang out. We were out on St. Patrick’s day and this was the only place that had an outside area to sit down and hang out!

Brooklyn Heights is a relatively small place that has some live music. Last night I got to watch one of my favorite local performers, Frankie Goodrich. The bar inside is small but the main room is very chill and loungy. There is seating outside in the front and a larger outdoor area in the back. On great nights like last night, it’s very nice to take a step outside in between sets and enjoy the fresh air. There seemed to be a sufficient array of drinks, the acoustics for music were good, and the bartenders were friendly and personable. I will definitely go back if there is a good performer but this may be a spot that I mostly visit if I am walking around Glenwood and just bouncing in and out of places.

I can’t remember the bartenders name but she was great! Would definitely come back. Especially now that I know there is a parking lot hidden around back.

Good vibe, live music. Just next door to Spanish tapas and slightly less pretentious as the bar on the corner. This place is a local niche. The one man band was fairly impressive, although a bit loud, it would only sound so to a person who didn’t know the covers he was playing– clearly catered to folks of the same generation as I. He did a pretty awesome self composed song and had a good collection of *groupies to cheer him on. New bartender was great because her pours were very generous, though no guarantee they’ll be consistent. The place looks like your best buds home as you walk into the parlor and large bar is there to serve you. Cushy couches and a few tables to view the stage performance. Good porch and patio area for those sucking on the cancer sticks. Low key, good place to start the night.

Best bar on Glenwood South. The staff is really friendly and the drinks are always tasty. Their Bloody Mary’s are awesome. They used infused vodka with Zing Zang. It’s delicious. Want something cheaper? PBR tallboys are only 2 bucks. They have patio seating in the front and back. They often serve free food too. Best place for Sunday Funday.

If I’m looking to save some money but still have a good time, or if I’m looking for a spot to ‘pre game’ before I go to a club, Brooklyn Heights offers that in a great location. The place looks like a house — when I first saw it, I thought it was some kind of frat-tastic house catering to the bros strolling along glenwood, when in fact, it’s quite the opposite. The place is a little dive-y(often has cover bands on weekend nights), people smoking outside on the deck/front yard area(which I removed a star for — sorry, but I don’t like having smoke blown in my face as I’m going in or leaving). I also removed a star for their bathrooms. While they are nice earlier in the night, they can get very messy as the night goes on and since its a 1-person bathroom, there is almost always a line after 11pm. Their couches inside offer comfortable seating for nice conversation. The bar has nicely priced beers but often as the night goes on it becomes more and more difficult to grab a drink(if you’re not the aggressive type and place your hand on the bar/squeeze between people, it will take you a very long time to get a drink if its packed). The could definitely use a larger bar, but the place is small as it is. It’s a great place to go earlier in the night, and I do enjoy myself there… but as the night wanes on, there are plenty of other places I have in mind.

I had a good time at Brooklyn Heights, and got a kick out of the southern interpretation of what it means to be a hipster in Williamsburg(hint: it’s pretty close). The DJ was good, there were cheap PBRs, and a few people awkwardly dancing with them in hand. The front patio was a really nice place to drink, especially with the gorgeous weather. We snagged ourselves proper seating and planted for quite some time. Bartender was quite pleasant as well, and service was quick. There was never too big of a crowd, at the bar, or outside, and the line to the bathroom moved quickly. Bathrooms were very clean as well.

Love the DJ here. If you are a Hipster, you will love this place. Drinks are expensive but when you are a hipster, its cool. grab a drink, hang around on the couches or chill out on the porch. Its like a house party with all your best friends.

I was balancing my checkbook and saw that the bartender who served us added $ 3 dollars to my original tip. Pretty awesome. I hope this review costs them $ 3000 in business not to mention I’ll never set foot in there again.

This has become my new Sunday Funday location. Relaxed atmosphere, great bartenders and a playlist that keeps my Soundhound app active by tagging new tracks I’m interested in checking out are all a big part of it. What brought me there in the first place? Well, rumor had it that they had the best bloody mary in town. Many bars in Downtown Raleigh claim the very same thing, and some have lived up to the hype. I decided a few months ago that it was time to test out another rumor, and can honestly say these guys take the top prize. There’s no «make your own» gimmick, or enough garnishes to make your drink look like a planter. It’s all about the ingredients. They have a large glass container sitting behind the bar that they fill with jalapenos and vodka, and just let it soak. They pour directly from the jar into a pint glass, top it off Zing Zang mix, and if you ask nicely, even throw in a little Old Bay for an extra kick. PS — all this is only $ 5 on Sunday. If you spend most of your Sunday afternoons dreading what the next morning will bring, then I would suggest stopping here to extend your weekend well into the evening and enjoy a pint or two. Sit out on the porch, or inside at the bar or one of their couches, and sip your stress away…

It’s not my fault that I don’t try new things here when you always have PBR tall cans for $ 2. I like this place to start out or take a break from the typical Glenwood scene. Apparently it is supposed to be 25 years old and up? I’ve never had a problem. Hanging outside is great in the summer, but the interior is fine as well. My friends and I prefer to bogart the leather couches in the front, which provides a great venue for the solo artists and small bands they have most weekend nights. Last time, the band was too loud, but the time before that, the solo guitarist was playing songs from bands like Everclear and Filter, and I was very happy.

After walking by Brooklyn Heights a bunch of times, I had to stop in. You need to be a member but it doesn’t take much: a buck and some of your personal info and you’ll soon have a card.(For those of you new to NC, if you don’t serve food with the alky-hol, you’re a «private club, members only») The place looks like a small white house with some tables and chairs scattered in front to watch the Glenwood crowd. Inside the place is nicely done: pair of leather couches, pub tables and an nice L-shaped bar. It’s cozy and inviting, a nice spot for a leisurely cocktail. Service was very good and while there isn’t a ton of drink selections, you’ve got everything you need. Very mixed crowd on Saturday night ranging from hipsters to yuppies and suburbanites, no surprise there. Overall I think this place would be really good on a slower, Tues — Thur night when the crowd was a bit thinned out. I’ll be back to see what this place is like without the mobs!
