Applebee’s

Have eaten here a couple of times. Last time was over the weekend while watching the AFC game. Service is always great, and the food is pretty good. And of course plenty of TV’s for watching the games of any sorts. Last time, I was there the bartender Tiffany was very nice and maintained conversation with her customers…

This is the worst Applebee’s ever. We ordered a Sangria and the person behind the bar didn’t know what she was doing. The Sangria had a ton of foam in it and it was extremely disgusting. We sent it back and just asked for a soda. The bartender proceeded to talk about us loudly behind the counter. We asked to speak with a manager because it was disrespectful and unprofessional. The manager came out and apologized. As we were getting ready to leave, he begged and pleaded us to stay because our food was ready. When the food arrived, the bartender started cleaning a table nearby our table. She proceeded to talk about us and say, «what goes around comes around. Those types of customers will get what they deserve.» We were never rude. We simply sent back a drink that was horrible. We asked her to stop and she then began to accost us. This Applebee’s is ver ghetto and needs to be shut down. My guest and I decided to leave because we were not going to sit there and be spoken to like that. I am a customer and no customer should have to have an experience like that.

Food is meh. It’s difficult to expect much from an Applebee’s. The wait staff is polite, but they get confused with decent size parties. The food is never as good as it looks or sounds. I’m glad I didn’t come during peak hours.

Visited this location for the first time yesterday. My waiter was Kendrick, and he was great. He did his job very well.
The only problems were, the napkins we received had food stains on them. Kendrick apologized and brung two more.
The other problem was, the battered shrimp weren’t good, and I had to send the plate back. They really need to try new seasoning for the shrimp.
But the Fiesta Lime Chicken was GOOD!

This location is extremely slow. We had to wait five minutes just for someone to come help us. We ordered take out but were forced to go to the bar to order which was very unseemly and had drunk people at. Neither my husband nor I drink. We felt very uncomfortable at the bar ordering our to go order. The girl who checked us out was horr with us and put the servers’ needs before ours. It was as if we were a nuisance. I don’t care much for their food anyway but we went because we were given a gift card. Next time we will probably just give the gift card away.

We visited this location after for a special occasion after college graduation. We were hesitant to visit after a bad previous visit, but the manager called me after the last visit, and said that on my next visit to ask for him and that it would be much better.
On my last visit there was a problem with the mashed potatoes where they were horrible. I really love mashed potatoes so me and my boys all ordered mashed potatoes this time as well. When the food came 2 of the plates came with mashed potatoes, and the other one came with fries, even when I specifically stated no fries, but mashed potatoes. I asked the waitress, and she confirmed that I ordered mashed potatoes. She stated that they were going to make some fresh mashed potatoes and bring them out. When the mashed potatoes came out we all looked at them. They looked the same as the last visit, visibly not fresh. You could look at the potatoes and tell that something was wrong with them, even without touching them. I asked for the manager, and his comment was «They just didn’t stir them well.» That was a horrible comment as you could look and tell the potatoes were not fresh. When you touched them they were hard and had a protective skin on them. The manager said he was going to take them back, and adjust the bill. What the manager did was add on an extra charge for the potatoes that were included with the price of the meal, and then remove it.
So basically we paid full price for fries we didn’t order, what we ordered we didn’t eat. The manager didn’t seem to care about us, even when he knew it was the same problem I had the previous visit. The manager looked at the food and commented on it himself.
Honestly, the only reason why I went was because the manager personally invited me back himself, and promised it would be better this time around. I ordered the exact same thing, and I was still disappointed. I gave them a chance to improve on what was wrong last time, and it didn’t work. Even after the food had to be taken back, we were still charged full price for it. By the time the mashed potatoes were brought out, to complete the original order, everybody was done with their food.
I might, or might not go back here, but if I do, I would not order the mashed potatoes.

My co-​workers today suggested Applebee’s, so I went along with it. I’m not generally a food snob about chains anyway if they are well-​executed. I remember some decent meals at Applebees in Louisville in the early 1990s.
That was probably the last time the food was good at this tired franchise.
The restaurant was clean, the service prompt, but the food. was. terrible.
From the ‘Succulent’ section of the menu, I ordered the Fiesta Lime Chicken. I tasted no lime, the cheese clung greasily to the over-​cooked chicken breast, and there was nothing ‘fiesta’ about it.
Thankfully the company was good, the food certainly was not.

The staff was friendly and service was excellent.
You know, like one of those few times you visit a mainstream restaurant and get pampered just because you’re a visitor, and the staff wants to spoil you with an overwhelming food extravaganza. Oh heck, the epicure inside of me is thinking loud.

This seemed like a typical Applebees. The food was a little better than the last time I ate at one of these. The service and atmosphere at this location seemed fine. Nothing to get excited about, but it was a serviceable meal.
