If you’re staying in Racine, you have two choices for a decent hotel — this Fairfield Inn and the(pricier) Marriott. I was fine staying here because it was just for a few days and convenient to where I needed to be. I found the staff to be nice and helpful(one in particular who helped me when I couldn’t turn my tv on — dead batteries on the remote). Breakfast is self serve in the lobby and I’m not a fan of that but if you want to save $$ that option is there. Two complaints — the rooms are a little small and there is no self-service laundry. Still, I would stay here again if I was in the area.

The hotel was quiet and clean. The pool was shallow but devoid of children as well as the hot tub. The vending was acceptable. It was not convenient to walk anywhere, but a short drive was all it took to get some food. The staff was courteous and helpful and let us charge the electric car in the parking lot which was a huge plus. The room was clean, and although the pillows were too fluffy I slept very well. The breakfast was AWESOME and as usual I stuffed myself with the variety of food items offered and had a nice nap afterward, as we were allowed a late checkout. Not perfect, but no really bad points that stand out. Would definitely stay here again.

It’s a lower end business class hotel, so you don’t get all the bells and whistles. But the rooms are quiet and comfortable, the breakfast is filling(and starts early), and all the staff are genuinely friendly. Would definitely choose it again if I were in the area.

In the context of other Fairfield Inns I’ve stayed at(that would be a lot), I’d rate this one as «ok». It’s a small property — maybe 60 rooms total. Our room was fairly bare bones(no refrig or anything like that) but very clean. The bathroom vanity area is teeny tiny, though. If you’re a dude who just needs a shave it’s fine but if you carry any amount of toiletries you’ll be hard pressed for space. Beds are comfy & there isn’t much exterior noise. Interior noise, however — a real problem. We were put on the 2nd floor and could hear people stomping around above us as well as everything that was happening in the halls. Like other Fairfields, wifi is free as is breakfast. This one has an average version with a few hot things but mostly carbs & yoghurt. They do have a pint sized pool which means this hotel attracts lots of families especially on weekends. You’ve been warned.

We recently stayed here for a wedding. The hotel is centrally located and your standard Fairfield Inn. It appears the rooms were recently renovated and were clean, bright and comfortable. Breakfast is included and it’s your standard hotel fare with cereal, pre-made eggs, microwaved sausage patties and waffles. Nothing fancy, but it does the job.

We stayed here for a family even in Racine. In the past, we have either stayed at the Marriott or at the Holiday Inn Express nearer the freeway. This hotel was absolutely fine, not stellar, nor horrible, and it held no surprises, good or bad. The other reviewer writes that she values the fridge in her room, but we didn’t have one. That was fine for us; we wouldn’t have used it, but if you are counting one, I would ask about it when making the reservation or at check-in. I would say the Fairfield is not quite as nice as a Hampton Inn, but I think generally it is less expensive. Our room was nice, with clean and lovely rooms. It was not overly large, but the bathroom was a nice size(the toilet is in the same room as the bath/shower, and the vanity and sink are without, which is nice when sharing. The Internet access is free, and you can put as many devices on it as you like(Kindle, two laptops) in the room, which is very handy. We didn’t eat breakfast here either morning because we found the offerings somewhat bland and mostly carbohydrates.(We made a short trip down Washington to Dunkin Donuts for breakfast sandwiches one day and went to Perkins another day.) It was nice to duck down for coffee and a chocolate muffin though whilst getting ready. Everyone was friendly, and our friends used the(small) pool and had no complaints. I would stay here again if I were budget conscious. If I’m not worrying about $, I’ll be back at the Racine Marriott.

The Racine Fairfield Inn gets a bad rap, but it’s just fine for me. Likes: staff is very friendly, chocolate chip cookies at the front desk, free breakfast, same beds as Marriott, fridge and microwave in room. Dislikes: it’s pretty basic, no workout room on site. What really keeps me coming back to the Fairfield is the breakfast and fridge-in room. I’m basically a nut job when it comes to my food so I travel with my own snacks and food. That’s what makes the fridge essential. Add to that the fact that I can actually get everything I would bring for breakfast for me and I am one happy camper. Breakfast includes oatmeal, fruit, waffles, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, pastries. Rates are cheap at about $ 78 a night as compared to the Marriott a block away for $ 130+. Try it out, you’re not that fancy and high-maintenance.
