A perfect anniversary dinner. The sunset was stunning. Our server Rose was very attentive and friendly. I had the special of Prime rib w/Delmonico potatoes, and fresh asparagus. The meat was cooked to perfection! My husbands haddock was delicious. The app was scallops and bacon. so yummy, I wanted my own order! fresh bread was also brought right away. My fav place…

Arrived at 7:30PM for dinner and got to see a beautiful sunset that turned too quickly into a great view of the skyline. The service was attentive and went at s relaxing pace. The appetizers were served first and everyone’s meal was served together(no long waits for all to get their orders at the same time) so we started dinner together. Harder to do with a party of eight. Salmon dinner is recommended along with the bacon wrapped scallops. Calamari is a bit oily. Clam chowder is served perfectly hoy and is delicious. The food was delicious. Well seasoned, right temperatures and reasonable portions. They don’t serve lattes but the coffee they served was fresh and hot. Their carrot cake was sweeter and stickier than expected. Usually there’s a cake with cream cheese frosting but theirs is like a sticky pie filling with regular sugar(not whipped cream) frosting. The cake is much heavier than the usual. The chocolate cake was reportedly delicious and as chocolate cake should be. This reviewer didn’t try it but others at our party like the chocolate cake. Prices seemed reasonable.(Appetizers are around $ 11/each and entrees are $ 17(chicken) to $ 29(filet mignon).

VIEW: 4.5STARS FILETMIGNON: 4STARS CHICKENPICATTA: 2.5STARS Maybe not evident in the picture, the chicken was overcooked. My expectations were higher for a place nestled in a high end gold course. CLEANLINESSOFWATERGLASSES: 1.5STARS Right when Grandma grasped her water glass it was evident that they have some sort of dishwasher problem. It felt like it had hair and some sort of unsmooth coating on it. It wouldn’t have been evident in a picture either or I would have taken one. It was an unpleasant sensation, and unfortunately right at the start of things. We weren’t the only ones who noticed it. A staff member anxiously pacing around nearby waiting for a rehearsal party to come in saw the same on all the glasses in their, and her facial expression reflected this as she tried to rectify the situation with cloth napkins. The problem with this method is that the same cloth used to wipe the unknown substance off the exterior was then used to wipe the interior. So I had several places researched to go to outside of the normal rotation for a Filet, and although the mignon was quite good, I wish I had chosen one of the other ones on the list(Alba, Fox and Hounds, Stockholders, Hancocks) in terms of the overall experience.

A bustling traditional restaurant with good food. The mix of standard appetizers, fresh salads, sandwiches, pizza, and other mains give you a number of options. We started our meal with a couple of enjoyable drinks. I had a tasty salad and shared a delicious pizza. While the flavorful food isn’t extraordinary, the efficient friendly service, warm atmosphere on a cold winter night, and spectacular view of Boston elevated the overall experience. The bar area looks like a fun place to enjoy a drink and quick meal after a round of golf(when the New England weather permits).

Not the greatest weather for the outstanding view of Boston skyline. Visited on a Sunday afternoon and walked in with no wait. Be prepared, there is usually a function scheduled. Traditional dining on the golf course. The Beet salad and tomato soup were delicious as was the mushroom pizza. The open faced Turkey Gobbler was huge and the fries perfect, but the turkey go a «dry» comment. Don’ t skip the bloody Mary. The shrimp cocktail was huge but we missed tasting this.

This is a country club that overlooks a nice view. There’s a big golf range if you’re in to that kind of thing. The restaurant is conducts itself as a wannabe fine dining place, but the menu and even the specials are what you would find at a corporate diner like Denny’s. The food itself is pretty mediocre. Nothing really impressed me and it was annoying because the waiter kept acting like this food was the greatest of all time. She was very intrusive and desperately trying to sell us as much food as she possibly could. Everything was kind of just drab, out of date, and old fashioned. Nothing to see here aside from the view.

So I went to the Tavern for my birthday on December. I feel like most people go here for the skyline and city view of beautiful Boston. And it’s true, the views are beautiful even at nighttime which is when I went with my friends. It wasn’t too busy and the hostess was very accommodating with our table. Now to the food. Every single one of our meals were amazing. I got the steak tips and they were perfectly cooked and the marinate was delicious. My friends got the shrimp pasta, stuffed chicken, and the pizza. And I can honestly say each of those were so good too. The service was great and the ambiance was very nice and intimate. I would definitely recommend coming here again. And next time I’ll try and go during lunchtime as recommended.

Eggplant Panini was good, sauce was not, draft beer $ 5.50 –reasonable. Wait staff seemed overwhelmed by a group of people wanting to sit together but pay individually (I thought modern cash registers could handle such things… in fact, I bet registers are now so modern, they don’t even include the word cash). But hey, it’s a convenient location with parking, views and reasonable prices — so worth checking out on the way back from shopping or after work.

I have to say I have mixed feelings on this place. The location is wonderful, the décor is the old style«nice» restaurant type, the service is good. The manager as well as the waitstaff were all accommodating and personable which is almost as important as the food. We once sat in the Veranda area as they call it but I believe it is more of a solarium and I will never do that again. Let’s just say it was muggy and smelly and leave it at that. Next time we sat in a booth which was an improvement. Now let’s talk about the food. Food is inconsistent at best. My short rib was tasty and my sweet potato mash was done just right, but the sauce on the top? Not a demi glacé or a reduction more like bottled sauce thrown on for good measure. Not impressed by it and it was on my husband’s steak as well. My husband’s steak required him to drink a glass of scotch which to be fair was complimentary from the manager. The cut was not impressive but not terrible either, except the last bite which was… blue. Not bleu… but blue. Like the color. The manager explained that this was merely the product of a USDA stamp but of course it still caused an uneasiness. As for the highly rated brie and mushroom pizza– it was shall we redeeming and dessert was the alpine chocolate cake another gem.

We went for a family outing to celebrate the first night of school. Views from the parking lot and the window seats are awesome. The night we went(a Wednesday), every table was full, and the wait was an acceptable 15 minutes. The menu is nice and varied, with good old standbys and some more interesting offerings. Food: We had the lettuce wraps — build your own. The fillings were excellent, the lettuce was disappointing. Not every Bibb Lettuce leaf is good for this, and clearly no one checked. We had only 2 good ones. Our teenager had the Chicken tenders(bbq). Nicely breaded tenders with BBQ sauce on them. It might have been better to just sell them as tenders served WITH sauce rather than with sauce ON them. We would have been disappointed if we’d selected the Buffalo. Our 10 year old had the pizza. It was good enough. Our teenager had the hamburger. The plate was void of all crumbs when he finished! I had the Caesar salad. It was nicely dressed(not drowned). The shaved parmesan bore a greater resemblance to plastic than cheese, but otherwise a decent salad. Husband had the pastrami sandwich. Not as good as in NYC, but pretty good. Atmosphere: Loud enough that cross table conversation was difficult, but not enough to make it hard to talk to whoever is seated next to you. Service: slow but pleasant Other: You have to ask for rolls. They are basic dinner rolls, heated nicely, nothing fancy, but worth getting to quell complaints from hunger 10 year old tummies. Alcohol: the taps were down so we had to get bottled beer. Their selection is below pedestrian. Lots of light beers and the old standbys from the 80s. No Sam Adams or anything of that ilk. Wine by the glass was good. Cupcake Pinot Grigio. Price: Worth it. Dinner for 4 with 2 apps and 2 alcohols. $ 75 before tip.

This place never fails to deliver, me and my wife have been countless times and I have never had a bad meal or bad service in the 15 plus times I have went there. If you are a pizza fan grab the mushroom and brie, the only word to describe it is «Stupid» it’s probably the best pizza I have ever had. I have dabbled with other things but that is the go to, the restaurant has great views and is reasonably priced. My wife spoiled me with an anniversary gift to golf there and I am already thinking about how many Pies I am going to grab at the turn! Mushroom and Brie = Money! The Setting and Views = Money! Go hit a bucket and crush a pie, you won’t be let down!!!

Came here for lunch with my mother and grandmother yesterday. It was a gorgeous day, and we sat out on the porch to enjoy the great view of Boston in the distance. The food was good as well — I got the clam chowder as an appetizer and a lobster roll with sweet potato fries as an entrée. They served the lobster roll with the mayo on the side, which I did appreciate since sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming. The sweet potato fries were very thin and tasty. Overall I enjoyed the experience, but service was a bit slow even though there were not many people there.

I come here for the view, shrimp appetizer($ 11 for 12 large shrimp) and skinny margaritas. I’ve never made a reservation and always seem to find a table or seat at the bar. Before going gluten free I tried the grilled pizzas which were amazing(mushroom & Brie and pepperoni). My friend ordered the Fish Tacos which fell apart as she ate them and I’ve had the California Cobb which was on the bland side… I’ll stick to my shrimp for now! I wish they had a dedicated gluten free menu and more of a selection. Overall, nice bar to grab a drink and a quick bite.

This past Sunday was a beautiful day, took a close friend to the tavern for Mothers Day. Before I get to the amazing meal we had let me say if you’ve never been to Granite Links for dining or golf the view of Boston is spectacular. Well worth the drive to Quincy for the view alone. First thing I spotted on the menu was my favorite«go to» appetizer the shrimp cocktail. Twelve large shrimp for $ 12.00. You will not find a better deal than that, and I would know, I’ve had shrimp just about everywhere. I ordered the16oz sirloin steak au poivre and was dazzled with the presentation of quarter cut fried potatoes and fresh broccoli. My friend had the surf and turf with an equally impressive presentation of lobster tail and filet mignon with mashed and asparagus. Both meals were quite good and mine was so good I would easily call it my TOPMEALOFTHEYEAR. Now because it was Mother’s Day they were quite busy and I’m sure not everyone had the same experience, my secret: we grabbed two seats at the bar. Because it was so busy the bartenders seemed pre occupied. My rating would have been 5 stars but instead of being asked if we needed a wine list, a menu or another drink, we had to ask every single time. I will give them another try on a slower day and then may change to a 5.

Awful. Went here for Mother’s Day lunch. Server was quite awful: she began our day by yelling at one of the folks in my party«I need to get this chair in there» rather than saying«excuse me». Food was even worse. My wife got turkey tips that were raw in the middle. We told the waitress. after 10 minutes, the manager comes over and says«I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy that». Didn’t enjoy! More like: «I’m sorry we almost poisoned you.» Then the waitress tells us that the chef was appalled it happened, but apparently not appalled enough to come out to us and apologize. It’s justtoo bad my wife didn’t enjoy her raw turkey. I will say that they did take the turkey off the bill, but they could’ve handled this much better. Note, that I am posting a picture of one of the actual turkey tips that was raw in the middle. I will not be coming back here again.

We probably visit this place every other week unless we have company and then we come more often. You can’t beat the view and it’s nice and close to home. We don’t have to fight the Boston traffic and yet feel we get the quality of food and service of «a night out on the town.» We only give it 3 stars because the food is consistent but not amazing.

Came on a Saturday night, it was crowded but we got a nice high top table near the bar. The room was nicely decorated for the holidays and it was cozy. The view is amazing, and they have a nice drink selection. The service was great, and the food was really good. We will definitely be back.

The food was fine but you go back for the view. They had a couple decent beers on tap which I always appreciated.
