Pick of the Litter

Very happy with the grooming that was done on my Hanson! I will be back. The ladies are friendly and work well with the dogs. You can see right into the grooming stations so there isn’t anything to hide. I wasn’t used to that, as typically the grooming is done behind the scenes.

They do great job here, the dog always look so neat and smell so good. I’m obsessed with the shampoo they use. The ladies here are nice and friendly. However, they take quite long time, at least half a day to drop off the dog. Because they are always so busy so they booked out 2 weeks all the time.

Very friendly staff, great prices, and the best haircut/​wash my dog has ever had!

I have a schishon — shitzu, bjon mix — who tends to get knatted, and I like her fluffy. I took my baby here twice and have been SO happy both times. I know she can be a lot of work to brush through and they did, and made her so beautiful and clean. I was very pleased and will be going back very soon. Price was $ 50 which is worth it. I recommend this place !

I can’t rave enough about Sharon and her staff! We brought our rescue pup (who has major anxiety problems) in for groomings and we have never had such a kind, loving, gentle, intuitive set of groomers before. They take careful notes on your pet’s grooming preferences, special considerations like anxiety, and techniques that work best for your pet like using a gentle hand or avoiding a muzzle. To boot, the prices are very reasonable. We have since left the area and have not been able to find a groomer as personable and caring about our little guy. Sharon even took time out of her Saturday evening to speak to me by phone about suggestions for helping our dog get acclimated to a new groomer and even offered to talk with the new groomer to help him get adjusted. And she had nothing to gain from that — it was simply from the goodness of her own heart. She truly, truly cares. I wish we could still bring our dog to Pick of the Litter — they are so fabulous! Stop looking for a groomer — these guys are top-​notch!

I brought my wheaten terrier here a year ago and also left a review which was deleted. They burnt my dog with the razor and then denied it and would not refund my money. My terrier was only a puppy and I ended up paying a huge vet bill because of this groomer. I would never bring my dog back to this groomer!!!

Great job with my shih tzu. She’s been coming to them for a long time; and she always comes back completely clean shaven and smelling great! Their prices are better compared to other places. They always do exactly what I ask for. Other places will leave the tail fur on or her face isn’t completely shaved even though id ask for it all off! Also, they call me right away as soon as she’s ready to be picked up which I appreciate :)
Only reason I can’t give 5 stars is cause it can be hard to get an appt. so make sure you call a week in advance to make an appt.

We started bringing our 8 year old Maltese here about 6 months ago and we’re so glad we did. We’ve been very happy with how they cut her hair (she’s not an easy client), and their prices are very reasonable. The women are sweet and seem to genuinely care about the pets in there.

If you’re looking to get your animal groomed. This is the place to go!!! This place is amazing!
I have an almost 3 yr-​old indoor white long haired kitty and she hates almost everyone besides me! Her hair was driving me crazy, it was shedding like crazy and she began to get her poop stuck on her long hair after she would go the bathroom. I was so afraid thinking that it is inhumane to shave a cat, Pick of the Litter reassured me that cats get shaved regularly there. I finally caved in last winter of 2013, and it was one the best days in my life (along with my cats!)
My kitty surprisingly did amazing with the staff, and the staff did amazing with my kitty! My cat loves to get shaved — when she gets home she walks around thinking she’s hot stuff! It’s too funny. I’ve gone back there numerous times and my kitty and myself always leave very HAPPY customers!!!
My cat is my BABY and having her gone for even just a few hours is sad to me, but I know shes in good hands at Pick of the Litter, therefore I’d recommend anyone and everyone! Your money spent will be worth it!

I have owned dogs for 18 years. I have never had dogs that ran into the groomers with such excitement and happiness, until now. My two dogs LOVE to go to Pick of the Litter. Sharon (and the entire team) is so wonderful with them — kind, comforting and very friendly. She’s an excellent groomer as well and used to groom show dogs. My dogs look so beautiful when she’s done with them. I HIGHLY recommend Pick of the Litter.

I really like it here. I have a JRT with a broken coat (the longer fur) and I have to get it cut twice a year. My dog is friendly but very dogs aggressive so its always a hassle finding a place that can accommodate his bad behavior towards other dogs. They handle him fine and help me out by making early morning appointments so we can work around the rush hours with lots of dogs.
His grooming always looks great. I recommend this place for anyone.

Have brought my two cats back here 4 or 5 times since our first visit for a lion cut with a full tail. I feel very comfortable bringing them here. They let me drop them off & call me as soon as they are done so I can pick them right up! It usually only takes about an hour for both of them.
I will say though the last time I brought them they didn’t trim their legs or feet which was kind of disappointing but I think it was just a miscommunication.
I will be bringing them back in a few months when they are ready to be groomed again!

We’ve brought our cat three times to Pick of the Litter for a lion’s cut, and we couldn’t be more pleased with their service (s). The staff are friendly and it’s plain to see that they truly love animals. They were gentle and understanding about our cat’s (sometimes awful) behavior and, despite that, did an EXCELLENT job cutting his hair! Every time he comes out of Pick of the Litter he’s looking so beautiful and he smells GREAT! I’d recommend Pick of the Litter to anyone with a dog or cat without reservation. They’re PROS! DO be sure to make an appointment well in advance — they’re a popular grooming destination (and with good reason)!
[Cost for a fussy kitty is about $ 70. They keep him for about 3 hours and it’s well worth the price and the wait.]

I brought my dog here for the first time the other day. The ladies were wonderful! They were very welcoming and nice to my dog… and me, as I was probably more nervous than my dog was. They did a fantastic job on his nails, coat and ears. I plan to bring my dog here again.

New cat, new review.
I recently adopted a 14 year old long haired cat that was all matted, had dry skin and just wasn’t looking her best.
I took her to Pick of the Litter since I had such a good experience with Whiskers and they did an even better job with my new cat, Zoe. Zoe came from a very scary home and she can be a bit nervous. Sharon, her groomer, said that Zoe loved her bath and purred and nuzzled her while she was getting groomed. I doubt that cat would have nuzzled like that if she were scared.
She looks awesome! Great job with the shaving.
Zoe had an oatmeal bath and lion cut for $ 55! A steal!

I am nervous about taking my cat to any groomer, since most groomers seem more oriented towards handling dogs. But desperate to get a few mats out of his coat, and this location being so close to home, I gave them a try. They did a wonderful job and my cat was looking great afterwards.
By all means, the job was a 5 star job. BUT, and this is a big but — what the heck is the secret to get these folks to call you back to make an appointment? I have tried and tried, left messages, but no one ever returns my calls. It’s sad, because I’d love to give them more business. All signs seem to be that they don’t want it. I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt because this is after two attempts at trying to get an appointment (it took a while to return my calls the first time too), but I’m realizing I need to find a groomer where I can actually get an appointment. If I can rate on responsiveness alone, it pains me to say that this is about a one star for them.

I’ve been bringing my dog to Pick of the Litter since I got her and I have been extremely pleased with the service I receive there. The lady that grooms my dog is kind and friendly and always does such a great job. I would highly recommend this salon for anyone who is looking for a good grooming place to bring there pet. Overall the place is clean well ran and very professional.

This past Sunday my girlfriend was looking for a place to take her new dog for a bath and some grooming. Thinking not much could be open on a Sunday I checked Unilocal and saw all the solid 5 Star reviews of Pick Of The Litter.
My girlfriend called at 10:00AM and surprisingly enough we were able to get an appointment for 12:00PM. We dropped off our dog with Laura. and she politely explained our grooming options and told us he would be ready at 4:00.
Bonus– Its right next to Shabu, so we grabbed some lunch while we were in the area.
Laura did a fantastic job! — The dogs coat looked great and felt smooth. Teeth were brushed and nails were trimmed. He even had that «New Dog» smell again. Price was very reasonable.

I recently took my new rescue pup Tonto here for the works — wash, cut, dry, and nail trim. Since it was his first grooming, my husband and I had no idea how he was going to react. We told that to the groomer, Kris (sp?), and she gave us a full report on how he did when we came to pick him up.
Tonto was so happy when we came to get him, and it was obvious he was well taken care of. He even had a play date with the groomer’s dog for the 2.5 hours he was there. Yeah, the appointment took a little longer than most people expect but it was the weekend so not totally unusual in my mind.
$ 40 for the works, great service, and a mini puppy play date? Worth every penny!

Service: Cat light dematting, nail clipping, ear cleaning, good hair brushing.
Price: $ 35
My cat purrs because he’s more comfortable without the matting: priceless.
