This restaurant is not one I would recommend if you’re looking for a delicious breakfast or more specifically an omelet. Both my boyfriend and I were disappointed, we ordered a spinach and feta omelet which came with toast and potatoes. The potatoes were large and boiled, not like traditional crispy home fries. The omelet was made with much to much frozen chopped spinach and not cheesy at all! The omelet was very dry. We did split a blueberry pancake which was delicious. Bottom line: I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. Though the menu has a large variety of options, we were not satisfied and the menu is very over priced.

Came to McKay’s after Sunday morning mass with my family. They were pretty busy so we had to wait about 15 minutes for a table to seat all six of us. Because they were so busy the service was a little slow but it was never the less very friendly. I decided to try the veggie and cheese omelette with a cornbread muffin on the side. The omelette was huge and pretty tasty. But the cornbread muffin on the side was phenomenal. They cut it in half and toasted it and with some melted butter — it was delicious! I wasn’t a fan of their home fries on the side — thick, chunky potatoes with little to no seasoning and various levels of cooked-ness. Some were mushy, some were crispy, some were soggy, and some were burnt. All in all, a nice little diner.

Always likes McKay’s by hadn’t been in a while. We had the BEST breakfast there last weekend! Irish breakfast, omelets, and pancakes for the kids. Can’t wait to go back!

I love McKay’s. Then again i love a big full English breakfast(this is more of an irish version as they use Batchelors baked beans instead of Heinz!) Nice back bacon, pork sausages, black and white pudding, grilled tomato, baked beans, hash browns, Irish soda bread or toast and coffee or tea. Job done! Service is usually quick and always friendly, weekends can be tough and although the place is pretty big, it will fill up during these peak times. My wife has tried the pancakes and waffles and says they are pretty damn good, all in all a great traditional breakfast diner.

McKay’s is a great breakfast/brunch place. It has all the usual breakfast food(I.e. Eggs, bacon, pancakes, toast, etc.). The prices are reasonably low and the food has always been great! The food comes out pretty quickly after ordering it, even if the place is super busy.

Love this place. Very solid and with excellent prices. This is a throw back and excellent option for an old school breakfast nook. Highly recommend. Great, fast service and outstanding quality. The hash omelette is tops.

Old town style joint in Quincy. My wifes family has been going here for a long time and she pulled me into the thread as we came here twice during our trip. I had the pancakes both times with bacon and not just the pancakes plain but banana and chocolate chip pancakes which were amazing. The food is hot and fresh and tastes delicious and the staff is so friendly. The irish waitress that is there is so friendly and nice if you get the chance to get here if she still works there get here and she will be so nice to you.

Just meh. The breakfast sandwich was ok, but the french toast was not nice. Coffee not nice either, luckily there’s a Dunkin a few minute walk. We came in to try a new breakfast place just for the hell of it, disappointed. The location is ok, lots of street parking on a weekday morning, and cool to see the birthplace of Adams. That was actually the highlight.

My wife and I just moved in right up the street from McKay’s and it’s been on our places-to-go list for the past 3 weeks. We went on a Saturday morning, and it was pretty busy. The waitress was very nice and very helpful, and when I asked about the negative Unilocal reviews, she explained that the rude waitresses were no longer there. It seems as though they take these reviews very seriously. The food was very good with very generous portions. I’m generally not one to leave food on the plate, but I really had no choice. Service was very fast, even with a very busy restaurant. I’ll be going back to try their lunch and dinner, but I really enjoyed their breakfast.

My boyfriend and I shared a breakfast sandwich and an Irish breakfast which was more than we could finish. The server was prompt and knew what to ask. 3.5 stars for food quality 5 stars for service. Food came out within 5 min and was HOT! :) Good food for a good price.

Great place and great prices in a family friendly atmosphere. We got a great table next to a window that looks directly at the old Adams homestead, birthplace of our 2nd and 6th presidents. Highly recommended.

Service was good. Food was average, nothing you can’t make at home. A bit pricey though.

Good food and good service. The potatoes are real which you don’t find at most places. The waitress was super awesome, think her name was Joan. She was on the counter Saturday afternoon. The only thing that keeps this place from getting five stars is the fact that I’ve been to five breakfast places in quincy and it is the most expensive with no real reason why. No reason to not come back though. One good plus is that they have apple jelly for your toast! That is something that I’ve never seen at a breakfast place. Overall solid place. I will most definitely be back.

Solid food and great service. Would be 5 stars if but they have a small pest problem since they expanded. Everything seems clean though, so I assume that there wont be pests for long after they get an exterminator. I had the eggs Benedict my first visit and it was fantastic. The second visit I got the steak and eggs and it was equaly delicious. needlessw to say I plan to be a regular here.

Food was ok. home fries were a little bland, corned beef hash wasn’t the best I’ve had(and I am a corned beef hash aficionado). Customer service, the girls are hustle and bustle, running to and fro and the kitchen silverware and mug girl is bitching about them all. To much drama in this place for me. Our waitress was a well rehearsed point by point no personality or time for the customers with her. Price was fine if you want to dine with Drama!
