Sad day is late October when DF closes for the season. Variety of hard and soft ice creams, many options on prep and toppings, better than the trendy fro-​yo spots On hot nights just be prepared to wait in line which gives plenty of time to change your mind on your choice!

Came on a week day night and was surprised by the line! Instantly knew the place would be cool. Their variety is endless and there is without a doubt something for everyone. They have unique soft serve twist options and I thought I would be dating and try the raspberry coffee twist. It was amazing! Stepped out of my comfort zone and was pleasantly suprised!

Pretty good selection of ice cream and a wonderful location to eat inside your car while people watching. I did find this ice cream to be a bit harder than Toscanini’s but it would definitely be a great substitute when your not up for that drive leaving from Braintree.
I had the cookies and cream and was satisfied with the ice cream. The lady who made my husband’s soft serve with mix ins used her hands (sans a visible hand washing) when mixing things in, so that wasn’t very favorable.

So good! The orange vanilla twist is the business. If diabetes wasn’t a thing it would replace all of my meals. The Oreo is also good. It gets pretty crowded which can be expected for any decent ice cream place. But don’t be discouraged. The workers are fast and while you will have to wait, it won’t be as bad as you expect.
what really makes it stand out to me is the fact that you can take your treat back to your car and people watch as you enjoy a cool summer evening. Unfortunately it also makes it easier to finish your ice cream and just grab another one because although you were in your car for 15 minute you never really went anywhere :(but I guess that’s a matter of self control. Not their problem.
They are not limited to just ice cream. They have a full spread of cooked foods, sandwiches etc. while I can’t speak for the hot foods, I look forward to trying them and reporging back.

For three years, we have lived in Quincy and drove by Dairy Freeze several times a week with a line out to the sidewalk. Every time we see that line, we vow to come back and see what all the fuss is about. And every time we forget until we see that crazy line again. Finally, we made the (3 minute drive trek) to try it out, and it was beyond worth I’d like to say I have a reasonable and viable excuse for waiting so long, but… no. And I am SO mad we didn’t make it over there sooner. Reasonable prices, friendly staff, great selection (variety, but not overwhelming) and the ice cream was delicious! The line does move quickly, don’t be scared off. I have to apologize to my waistline in advance for the large influx of delicious dairy treats that will be entering my diet this summer.

I grew up in Quincy, and I’ve never heard of this place until recently. When I finally got around to going, I couldn’t stop! I order myself the hard vanilla w/​rainbow sprinkles, and I’ve stuck to it ever since. The sizes are generous for the pricing, and a great little place to take the family.

The clams, chicken tenders, burgers, o-​rings (perfect for those that like them on the thinner side) and fries are all great warms ups to ice cream at Dairy Freeze. Whether you like frozen yogurt or ice cream hard or soft, straight up or with toppings, or even a Razzle swirl! — you won’t be disappointed. Now thy have coconut ice cream in both styles. Excellent place!

Got a small hard ice cream and it was massive, like 8 scoops at least. It was almost too much, but too much ice cream is kind of blasphemous. The ice cream was delicious. Soft serve flavors and twists looked good too. Only downside is that there’s no place to sit outside.

One of the best kept secrets outside of Boston, Dairy Freeze is the go to place for all things ice cream and soft serve. This small little store has lots of variations, flavor and combinations of desserts for any kid or adult would enjoy (unless you’re lactose intolerant, but even then they offer slushies and Italian ices of crazy colors and flavors). The prices are fair and portions are generous. When it’s hot and you’re looking for a great place to get a quick bite, come here. Sometimes the line can be really long but the service usually gets through so the wait never long.
Even the fried options are decent, with the clams being pretty good. Avoid the scallops since they lack much flavor for the price. Personally, just stick to the desserts since that’s what this place is known for.
Dairy Freeze will melt your heart with all the possibilities it offers, you’ll keep finding yourself coming back for more and more.

My husband and I were reminiscing about the soft serve from the mr. Softee trucks in NYC from our childhoods and this place did not disappoint!
When I was a kid, I always got vanilla cone with rainbow sprinkles (aka jimmies) so I ordered a small for nostalgia’s sake. The portions are HUGE! I thought the girl at the counter messed up my order but my hubs got the large vanilla and it was about twice the size. So next time we will probably share one.
Prices are very reasonable. Our order came out to about $ 5 and some change. Cute little neighborhood joint that we will be telling people about! Oh and they take credit cards!

In a mood for soft serve ice cream? Well, Dairy Freeze has the best in Quincy. Come in a few flavors; but as for me, I’m hardcore vanilla fan. It’s extra delicious with rainbow jimmies and fresh, crunchy cone!
Parking is limited but you can always park on the side of the street and stroll over to the take out window.
