A picture worth thousand words. The design was absolutely hideous. It looked like it was done by 10 year old child. I was just mad at myself for bringing this cake home. I was in a hurry and didn’t pay a close attention then the cake was presented to me at the bakery. But when I got home and opened the package… complete disaster. Regret not returning the cake. But it’s a shame they actually sell this to a customer. I ended up redoing the cake. In terms of taste it was good. But they seriously need to work on decorating skills.

Insanely delicious! We bought 30 cupcakes, in 3 different flavors mango mango, pineapple guava and oreo, also a toasted coconut cake for a baby shower and they were to die for, not too sweet, just right and the texture was perfect, Everyone loved them. Also I must commend the staff, very friendly, informative, and accommodating I had no problems with my order. definitely going back to try the other flavors they have to offer.

Great service & the best flavors I’ve had! The cupcakes are made deliciously and they have cool flavor combinations unlike any other place like pineapple guava and their best is hibiscus. I love that their topping is not too sweet. I also placed a cake order and the owner was more than willing to work with me to get the cake I wanted! I’ll be coming back for more birthdays and celebration cakes here! They have ice creams as well. I wish they had more room to sit but other than that they’re wonderful!

For a birthday party today, we bought a dozen cupcakes in four different flavors — Hibiscus, Oreo, Chocolate Raspberry, and Coconut. I am definitely not an expert, but these are some of the most moist cupcakes I have ever had. With a bunch of good friends, we shared and tasted all the different flavors. My personal favorite was the hibiscus, which had a super light whipped cream frosting and a sweet floral filling. The Oreo and Chocolate Raspberry were good, but the Coconut was a bit boring. Overall, I wish they had a bigger selection of flavors, but cute shop and reasonable prices. I would come back and buy some more cupcakes for a future event.

I came across Mahalo New York Bakery while searching on Unilocal & Google. Based on the reviews, we deiced to give them a try for the bridal shower we were throwing. I am so glad we chose this bakery over the others we visited. The service we received was exceptional, everyone was so friendly. The cupcakes were delicious & were a big hit at the party. We already put in our second order for the next event & will definitely be back in the future. Thank you again!

After tasting a few samples of their mini cupcakes from a Unilocal event, I knew I had to visit their physical storefront to try their full cupcakes. Cupcakes($ 2.50 each) have the right amount of sweetness and their icing is not too heavy. Icing is on the lighter but creamier side. Got the mango pineapple, pineapple coconut, both tasted delicious. Saw some hibiscus cupcake and decided to try that too. Hibiscus has a odd but good and different tasting aroma to it. It’s not for everyone but still worth trying. Located in a part of Queens that’s kinda hard to get to unless you are driving or taking the Mta buses. They also serve ice cream. but no special flavors, just the regular classic vanilla chocolate and such. Accepts all major credit cards, don’t think there’s a minimum needed.

This is a nice little bakery. The toasted coconut cupcake was moist and delicious. My son raved about the ice cream and the people there were very friendly. We will definitely be back!

Ordered a birthday cake for my husband. Was not a pretty cake, but boy it was GOOD!!! only complaint was the cost $ 80 for a regular cake =O that feed about 30 people is very pricey in my book. At first glance people didn’t want to eat it, but once they had the first bite they were hooked and wanted more. One of the most moist and delicious strawberry shortcakes ever. I do think there should be some cream within the layering though.

GAHHHHH! Why are you located so far awaaaay :(The first time I had these cupcakes were at a Google event held in Queens Museum and they were probably the best cupcakes I’ve ever had. We were able to try two types the hibiscus milk and mango. The hibiscus was similar to a tres lech cake with a hint of floral, not overpowering so it didn’t taste like soap. Mango was my favorite and I inhaled 5 of the little mini cupcakes in a single sitting — totally ashamed but it was WORTHIT! I’ve already put in a request to family and friends to get my birthday cake from here LOL

Cupcakes for breakfast! Why not when it’s just that good? I go to Glendale for only one reason — My dog’s groomer down the block of Mahalo @ The Pet Salon. Now, I’ve another reason to visit Glendale. Mahalo seriously has some tasty finger lickin’ cupcakes. I ordered the Toasted Coconut and Strawberry Shortcake. Although the Strawbery Shortcake did not disappoint in flavor; it just wasn’t what I was expecting. The Toasted Coconut however blew me away. Not too sweet, super dense and moist, and the frosting had the perfect balance of coconut flavored frosting and toasted coconut flakes on top. One minor complaint though. the coffee. The iced coffee just wasn’t all that great and tasted a bit burnt :( Either way! I can’t wait to come back and try the Milk Lover’s, the Mango Mango, etc. etc. etc.

***Update: It’s fine that you want to clarify your side of the story. However, as a potential customer, I have the right to voice my opinion as well. I like to also point out that there will be certainly be more critiques and reviews coming from future patrons aside from myself. They may agree or disagree in response to your business. Unfortunately, I find it rather disappointing that you chose to discredit and personally attack my review based on a poor rating. FYI: I’ve been part of Unilocal Elite for 5 years. I’ve never been on any type of mission to attack small business. In fact, all my reviews have consistently support small business owners.** Please keep in mind that Unilocal guideline refrains business owners, as well as reviewers from disclosing personal info. This clearly violates privacy rights if your business chooses to disclose my personal info. I would rather not escalate the situation and report your business for sharing personal info. It also raises a red flag to potential customers to think twice to venture to your bakery. As my prior review stated, I originally planned on ordering a cake from Mahalo based on the 4 – 5 star reviews. Instead, a simple inquiry turned into a «dispute». You stated that I have edit my original response. That is far from the truth. Hence, my **Response and Update**. Your response to my last update was re-edit and elaborated in response to my initial post. Frankly, your defense rather speaks volumes about your«honesty and business ethics». It is absolutely appalling as a small business you can not take constructive criticism well to improve your business. The options you offered for $ 100 were as follows: The«exposed brick wall» is piping with self-attached castle tower/pillars. Other options were buttercream roses/piping or spray paint fondant with the crown which was not stated under $ 100. I found the options offered to be poor choices and lacking. Those designs were striking similar to Stop & Shop, Costco’s, Sam’s Club Bakery Dept. I have post an unbiased, cordial and honest review based on my interaction with Mahalo. Not only did you handled the matter unprofessionally but took it as a direct and personal attack when none was directed. In conclusion, aside from myself, I will definitely make sure to let friends/family know to stay away from Mahalo!*** Dropping it to one star. P. S. Attached photo of requested design. Quoted $ 400 w/modifications of round cakes done. Also incl. are the designs offered for $ 100. I saved you the trouble of posting the email thread. Best of luck with your business!

Awesome bakery and cool owners! My favorites so far are the mango passion fruit cheesecake, fresh fruit topped with creamy cheese, the bottom is the best with a graham cracker happy ending. Also you cannot go wrong with a Nutella walnut brownie!!! Very tasty with great prices!

This place is adorable! I was down the block at the teacher supply store and found this business, all thanks to Unilocal.I was on the hungry side, and saw that they had coffee and cupcakes(two of my very favorite things). I got myself a regular coffee and two different cupcakes(one was the hibiscus flower flavor, another was a strawberry shortcake flavor). My only complaint was that the coffee was a little old-tasting for my liking(not sure if it was the coffee itself, or the fact that it was sitting there a while). The cupcakes, however, were out of this world. I would definitely go back to try other flavors!

I found my little slice of heaven at Mahalo Bakery, the cupcakes & cheesecake deserts are everything one would hope to sink their teeth into. Both the cupcakes & cheesecake creations are tropical in flavor, rich, moist, heavenly and at $ 2.50 for each cupcake a wonderful sweet treat that’s perfectly priced! Unlike a lot of bakeries that load up their goods with too much sugar that is not the case at Mahalo, none of the cupcakes we ate there and took a few home with us were overly sweet, they were all perfectly balanced in flavor and delicate sweetness. Just outstanding goodness here. ** All cupcakes can be made into full size cakes with advanced 3 day notice** This is my new GOTO sweet tooth bakery.

The first time I heard about Mahalo was at a Unilocal event, Summer Stunner at Queens Museum of Art. I was very intrigued about the idea of Hawaiian-Themed cupcakes! They had a table set up with an impressive display of cupcakes, and I remember clearly; My first bite into a Milk Lover’s cupcake was smooth, moist, not too sweet! Amazing! I’ve been wanting to go to the actual bakery for so long, but when I looked it up on Google Maps, I realized its quite a drive from Bayside. Plus, parking around there is a pain in the ass. So I’ve been putting it off for so many weeks. and finally yesterday, I got one of my friends to go with me, loll so he could sit in the car. xD Inside, it was a small shop, with a a few small tables. I saw the cupcakes displayed in plastic containers of 6. I thought about it, and I got: 2 red velvet, 3 mango mango, 2 pineapple guava, 1 hibiscus, and 2 milk lovers. My favorite, hands down, are the Milk Lovers, Hibiscus and the mango mango. I’ve never had a cupcake with a filling. and the jam/purée in the mango mango and pineapple guava was definitely a surprise to my taste buds! lol My friend had a pineapple guava cupcake and even he said and I quote«one of the most tasty cupcakes I’ve ever eaten. Definitely, the most moist and smooth cupcake I’ve ever had.» To any cupcake lover out there, Mahalo is a must try! :D

I’ve been here many times and their cupcakes ate to die for. My favorite is the mango mango and guava pineapple. I loved the cupcakes so much, I decided to order a cake for my mom’s birthday and while that was delicious too, it was too heavy and started to crack in half before we could sing Happy Birthday to her. That was a bummer. I think in the future, if I need something for a special occasion, I’ll just get a container of cupcakes. You won’t go wrong on those, but just be aware if you place an order for a cake.

I got to try some treats from Mahalo New York Bakery at a Queens Unilocal event — I absolutely LOVED this place, and can’t wait to return for more! I would have never discovered Mahalo if it hadn’t been for a Unilocal event :) I tried the Mango & Hibiscus Cupcakes. Both were so scrumptious. The Mango cupcake is infused with sweet mango purée, and topped with tasty mango cream cheese frosting. The Hibiscus cupcake didn’t have a strong hibiscus flavor, but I loved the beautiful light pink hue, super moist cake, and the flavorful white buttercream on top. The highlight has to be the Mango and Passion Fruit Cheesecake Cup! This delicious and light twist of mango and passion fruit cheesecake floats on top of a cinnamon and spiced graham crumb. The cheesecake is topped with a thin layer of guava jam, and garnished with fresh mango. A must have!
