Medrano’s Mexican Restaurant

This is one of my favorite spots to go to. The food is pretty good and I tend to order and pick up my food when we eat here and it’s always done super fast! But if you opt for this option, order early because you might get turned away if it gets really busy. The bar is my favorite part of Medranos Quartz Hill! The drinks are great and the bar tender is amazing, lots of personality and willing to try to make you your favorite drink if it’s not on the menu! I highly recommend the California Lemonade! The area is kinda small and intimate but that’s part of why I like it! The waitress in the bar area though is my only complaint, her service is slow, she often ignores certain tables, and is just overall kind of off-​putting. So if you can ignore that bit, then you’ll have a good time with some good food and some good booze.

The food is average and unfortunately not consistent.
We get take out from there and it is convenient but if there was a better mexican restaurant near by, we would try that instead. It is much better than Don Juan on 50^th but still not great.
Staff is usually friendly but you have to make sure you check your order carefully before leaving the restaurant.

They don’t take reservations but they will accommodate large parties. I show up and they sat us in separate tables. Seriously! Did I mention the huge inconvenience! So the dinner will consist of yelling across the restaurant. We are celebrating a birthday and a graduation… Disappointed. I don’t think I will return here.

Our go to place! Always polite servers and yummy food! Love the ranch dressing and the chips and salsa!

I absolutely love this restaurant. It’s a bit pricey in comparison to other Mexican restaurants in the area but it’s worth it. Their food taste home cooked to me. It doesn’t make my taste buds fee like their eating better than fast Mexican food. The chips are always fresh and the salsa is s o flavor able I had shrimp scampi and I ate the shrimp and the scampi as well as the tails. Yummy. For those that are complaining about the dress code I support this restaurant 100%. Put a shirt on and decent clothes when you go out to eat. If you were food poisoned why do you want to go back, please?!! I highly recommend this place. I’ve eaten theseveral times. Each time was a pleasant experience

When I looked at the whole meal, I was debating between 3 stars and 4, but I bumped it to 4 based on the fact that the location was so convenient for us. We ordered takeout for the first time last night, and most of the food was very good. We ordered nachos, a steak chimichanga, cheese enchiladas, and two desserts. The dinner was very good, exactly what I expected, and everything was still nice and hot when we got home. I hate cilantro, and I couldn’t taste it in anything. I also like the fact that they have a dress code. My husband had a tank top on, and they encouraged him nicely to wait outside. Personally, I think more restaurants could use this. The only disappointment was dessert. We ordered cheesecake and flan. The cheesecake was fine, nothing special. The flan was overcooked and COVERED in Hershey’s syrup, and that was all I could taste. I love flan, so I was disappointed. Next time, we’ll stick to dinner and have dessert elsewhere. The meal was $ 49, a little pricey, but that seems to be the norm for sit down Mexican restaurants. The dinners were good and the location is great for us, so we’ll be back.

Customer Service: I placed a to-​go order (food was great) when I arrived I was given the bill for $ 47.80 (typically I dont tip on to-​go orders) I paid by credit card and rounded the bill to $ 50.00. They brought out the order (three meals) I noticed that there was one small bag of chips in the order, I was told that only one of the meals came with chips. So I asked if I could have one more bag of chips, I was told yes and it would be $ 1.80 or so :(
I told the hostess «go ahead» and I handed her my credit card, she then told me that they had a $ 10.00 minimum to use a credit card… I told her to forget it. I had to leave to get the food home to feed the family. So I was not able to vent to management.
Management — You need to up your Customer Service, I dont know how much a small bag of chips set you back ($ 0.10 or $ 0.12) but if a customer spends $ 47.80 and they ask for a small bag of chips. Going forward please give them the small bag of chips… I almost told the hostess «Why dont you take it out of your tip»

Got severe food poisoning here along with 2 other people we were with. The best management could tell us is that it happened sometimes with the lettuce. They asked us to come back and give them another try. They refused to reimburse us and did not offer to give us a meal free the next time either. 6 of us came and 3 got sick. The only thing the 3 had in comma was the salad. The other 3 had soup. I thought I was going to die. We were severely sick for 2 days. Shame on this place.

Our server David alone deserves all 5 stars. Great personality, super nice, & wonderful service.
The ceviche is very good and the portions are giant! Definitely enough for 2 to share as an appetizer. I also had the pastor burrito with rice instead of beans. Great flavor and the meat was moist and not fatty at all. My friends cheese enchilada plate with rice and beans looked so good. She loves it and always orders the same dish every time so it must be great.
It’s not totally authentic Mexican, but it is very good and I’d come back again for sure. We saw & want to try the other location as well.

Very disappointed! My husband and i come regularly and we decided to invite couple of other family members tonight. Im pregnant and i was starving, husband just got of work. Mother inlaw was with us, and my brother and sister in law. Its summer and its super hot. Brother in law was wearing a sleeves sport tank. With USA on it. Waitress walked over ready to take our drink order, and stopped and looked at him and ask if he had another shirt because they dont allow sleeveless. Really! Wow. We felt so unwelcomed and discriminated on. I mean c’mon really BJ’s, Chilis, better know chains welcome us with no problem. We will never be back.

This place is not good. The shrimp cocktail was horrible, my piña colada was horrible. The only thing that was good was the service, but the food suxs

After trying several Mexican places in Palmdale and being very disappointed, I was skeptical trying this one. But I have to say it’s the best I’ve had in the area so far. Salsa is great, I got the chicken enchiladas which were delicious, and the margaritas are fantastic. A lot of the negative reviews seem to be related to service, the DJ, or the dress code. I’ve had great service both times that I’ve been here. I don’t think issues with the karaōke/​DJ warrant bad Unilocal reviews on a restaurant. And the dress code is displayed very largely outside the door.

My burrito was decent warm but not hot enough, I go all the time but this particular time was bad, they rushed the food orders and my moms food was warm as well we returned it and went somewhere else. Which I kind of already lost my appetite don’t Go on Saturday nor Monday. The cook is really bad.

Food and drinks are good DJ sucks he allows screaming and to loud. Ok I get drinking and alcohol however don’t ruin our night with shit singers !!! The DJ makes it so loud the normal people can’t chat for the blasting DJ music! DJ sucks make people sound like they are screaming !! Everyone is screaming sounding horrible. Server was great along with food and drinks. DJ just needs to tone down the screaming. Good equipment will over compensate for bad singers without them screaming and music so loud.

Really good food and huge margaritas! Carnitas plate was very good and ask for the habanero infused salsa. Wow!

Get rid of the foul mouth KJ we will all come back. He is a misfit and needs medication. If he ever comes that close to hitting and threating my 80 year friend again i will help him understand manners with a little Krav Maga. Look it up. Michael you are a poor excuse for a human.

Can’t see anything special about the food here was just your average Mexican restaurant, nothing special. But we came in with a big party and they made room for us right away. The waiters were great and very attentive. Haven’t tried out the bar yet but it looks like a nice place to go. I’m going to have to change my order the next time I go but I’ll probably be back. This is Steve justice please hold the cheese with my tacos.

Excellent atmosphere tonight for Valentines Day. Nicely decorated and festive. Good band in the bar, but not too loud as we ate in the restaurant and did not overwhelm the restaurant with loud music. Very satisfied with the food and the service was excellent. Like the combo plates with a side salad included. Chips and Salsa fresh and very good. Also introduced restaurant to friends tonight, and they commented on their satisfaction with the food and atmosphere. The waiters & waitresses and busing staff are always helpful and very attentive. I have had lunch and dinner a number of times here, and have always been very satisfied with the food and service.

I had a shrimp burrito. It was alright. It’s an average Mexican place with better service than food currently.
Go give it a try for yourself and see if you like it.
