Stop in for fritter Friday. They are really good! The staff is really friendly. Had an amazing gyro sandwich.

Waited 20 minutes for a pre-made salad. Not for my money.

This is tied with one other place for my favorite eatery in Q-town. Good: 1) Everything I’ve had there is VERY yummy. 2) The staff is friendly and they remember you. 3) Good prices(Most meals will run you between $ 5-$ 10) 4) Very good selection and range of foods. Not so good: 1) The biggest issue is how busy it gets(which is a good sign), but that results in sometimes long waits for food. Selection: They have a little bit of everything here: 1) Breakfast is sandwiches and breakfast burritos(or pastries, I guess). I’ve had them all, and they’re all good. They do croissants well here! They also have some a la cart items(pancakes, eggs, bacon) but I’ve not had those. 2) Lunch is sandwiches, soups, or salads. I’ve had the first two and they’re both reliably good, but I’ve never had their salad. They also have a few odds and ends like quiches and chicken pot pies which I haven’t tried yet, but I will soon– they look really yummy. 3) Unlike most places in Q-town, this place has a REALLY good selection of desserts… either pastries, cookies, or cake types of sugary treats. I’ve seen cheesecake, red velvet cake, carrot cake, german chocolate cake, and I think tiramisu? They all look really tempting. Overall: This is one of the two places in Q-town I frequent the most. Other than the occasional long wait, I have no complaints. For the price, this place is spot on.

BEST Baker and Bakery in Northern Virginia. I will never order a cake from anywhere else. Fred at Harry O’s made the wedding cakes for my daughter’s wedding on 9−28−13. They were not only decorated EXACTLY has we had envisioned them but the taste is to die for. Unbelievable!!! We had so many guests complimenting the cake. My deepest THANKYOU to Harry O’s for making the day PERFECT!!!

Came here for lunch more than twice a week for four years. I make sure to visit Fred every time I come back to Quantico. The food continues to be fantastic.

I absolutely love this place. I’ve been going to this place since 2003 and let me tell you, everything on the menu is delicious. I love it, and I agree that if they were to open a restaurant in DC they would definitely take over. The staff is very friendly. Fred, even knows the customers by first names. I love their Tuna melt, chicken cordon bleu is amazing, their lamb pita and steak pita is awesome, their chicken noodle soup, everything is awesome. Everyone that goes to Quantico should try this place. 2÷4÷16 I’m not sure if they are in the middle of changing management but their menu changed and after that change it is not as good as it used to be.

I rarfely rate above 3 stars, but this place honestly earns all five. This is about as good as soup and sandwich can get. When you go, get the special which is a sandwich of the day, a bowl of soup, a drink and cookie. Everything, to include the bread, is made in-house. The mushroom soup is to die for. But honestly, everything here is good. If you’re going for lunch during the week, expect a crowd and expect not to find a seat. You may have to take it to go, which is fine because the Potomac is just a few blocks away and you can look at the river and eat your lunch. One of my all-time favorites!

Wow! It is amazing how when you return back to a place after ten years not a whole lot has changed; in fact almost nothing has changed. Qtown is the same as it has been since my tenure as a junior Marine Corps officer. The officers decades before me would say the same about the little town protected in the confines of Marine Corps Base Quantico. Every other business here is a barber, a uniform shop, or a dry cleaner. In between are little mom and pop establishments that serve some relatively uncomplicated food that is just a little more flavorable than what is around the flight line, headquarters, and the commissary. Harry O’s is just that little place which offers a nice little variety of salads, sandwiches, soups, and baked goods. I had Tuesday’s soup which is potato soup. It was really good, nice and creamy with small chunks of potatoes. A little more pepper and it would be perfection. I also had the quiche which is a creamy delight of spinach and cheese on a nice buttery crust. If I had to make a choice over one the quiche wins. The place is rather quaint and somewhat has a dated diner look of light pastel colors, very much a contrast against the dark camouflage attire that frequents it. Harry O’s is just a nice close little place with a predictable menu in a very safe environment. My only complaint is that I disparately needed coffee to carry me through the«haze ex» of meetings at Marine Corps University and to no avail coffee was no longer being served. Bummer!

I’m a regular. The best pastries, sandwiches and soup in all of Stafford County for sure. It is a shame this place is tucked in Q-Town. Then again I’d end up spending more money there. My favorite lunch item has to be the black and white sandwich. Although the lunch specials are great too. It is so much food I usually save the soup for lunch the next day. We special order cakes for every birthday and they are the best. No Crisco frosting there. And for those reviewers complaining about the crowds and parking that should tell you something.

Jon– I’m gonna go out on a limb here and give Harry O’s the vaunted five stars. It’s a great bakery that does everything from scratch and it would be able to win praise anywhere. But it is in Q-Town and that makes it shine even more! The mushroom soup is to die for– generous with the mushrooms, not too creamy, but peppery. I do enjoy the bite that it has. Great soup– I look forward to it every Wednesday. The sandwiches are usually outstanding. My favorite is the lamb panini– lots of tasty lamb, a light sauce and lettuce. Nothing extravagant, but it is well-done and the sandwich is perfectly balanced. The bread itself is really nice– crunchy-toasty and soft at the same time. If you’re in good ol’ Q-Town, go here. It’s the bomb!

Their mushroom soup is to friggin’ DIE for!!! And their subs are served on French baguettes with lots of meat and veggies, it’s a wonderful tasty experience with really decent prices. As stated by others, this is a small diner with limited seating and long lines running between 1100 – 1300. They DO have a drive-in too.

This might be the best place in all of Q-town. The sandwiches are top notch. The bakery selection at Harry O’s is incredible. Always fresh. I also recommend the soup. The chicken soup in particular reminds me of the way my grandmother would have made it. It has big pieces of chicken and reasonable sized vegetables. And did I mention it is served with a roll which is just great for sopping up that extra soup? There are two Harry O’s by the way. The one right over the train tracks is Lil Harry O’s and has Mexican food(You can find my Unilocal Review elsewhere), but this one is off of C Street. It should be noted that it can be hard to get a seat in here if you arrive at the peak of the lunch hour.

Let me begin. You can access the little town(and dump) of Quantico if you are a civilian/FBI/gov’t/USMC. The Marines annexed the town year’s ago but allow people to go to the town(Civilians not associated with the military still live there). Just tell the MP you are headed to Q-town and show him your license. The only down side is that they are not open on the weekends. *** This place is a diamond in the rough. Q-town is a total dump on a very nice military base. Harry O’s is a little French café that makes the best sandwiches, soups, salads, desserts, etc from scratch. You can special orders cakes also. *** I love this place. I work on the Marine Base at least once a week and can tell you that you can’t go wrong with anything they fire up. Over the last three years, I have had everything on the menu. They run daily specials that include sandwich, soup, cookie, chips and drink. If the owner opened another shop in DC, he would shut other diners down. If you are a Monte Cristo sam’ich fan — make your pilgrimage now! He also makes a mean cheese steak and fresh chicken pita. I am donating money to clone this place.

I love, love, love the potatoe soup. You are also given a roll to dip with. I am personally not a soup person, but I go to Harry O’s every Tuesday for this soup. I am thankful that it’s only available one day a week, because I would probably go broke eating it every day! Don’t worry a cup is less than $ 3 and a bowl is less than $ 4. You don’t really need eat anything else with the bowl, since it is filling alone, but if you want to over indulge, any of the baked goods are just as good as the soup.
