Luxton Tree Service & Land Clearing

We have used Luxton Tree Service for over 25 years and they have been excellent. We have an old Victorian surrounded by old trees which unfortunately have reached the end of their life all at oce it seems. Just had a towering 100 year old oak tree removed due to rot at the base. This tree was wedged between our house, driveway, and other establised shrubbery. Half the tree extended over our house. I don’t know how he did it, but the tree is down with zero damage to anything on our property. Several years ago he removed an old walnut tree hanging over our garage and neighbor’s yard, with the same flawless results. His crew is great… friendly and couteous, and they clean everything up when the job is done. Price is reasonable, they come when they say, and do an excellent job. We would not use anyone else.

I have had three massive 150+ year old trees removed from my yard by Mr. Luxton and his crew over the last couple years. One tree was not near anything. One tree was literally an inch from my shed. One was within a few feet of my garage. The only part of the trees that touched my shed and garage during their deft removal was a bit of sawdust. I would go so far as to say that they do their work with artistry, closely coordinating the man in the tree with the crew on the ground, and have an excellent sense of where each cut will fall. Don’t get me wrong: It clearly doesn’t rise to the level of ballet. Definitely.
They give free quotes. They are expert, meticulous, prompt, efficient and friendly. They clearly maintain their equipment. I have always been 100% satisfied with their work.
I have recommended them to family and neighbors who were also highly satisfied. I know of nobody who was dissatisfied with their work.
I previously hired a different local tree company to take down a smaller tree and that company botched it up, badly damaging a neighbor’s tree. I won’t pan the other company since it was years ago. I’ve seen the worst and Luxton is the best.
⁸⁄₂₀₁₁ update: Having just had another tree removed by Luxton, very close to the house, I continue to be completely satisfied with their work.
