Chalet Tavern

I come in to the Chalet about once a month for a Chalet burger. It used to be pretty good food. Not so much today. The burger was so over cooked it actually tasted better without the meat. The parties were about ¹⁄₈^th of an inch thick. Similar to what you might expect from a bad school cafeteria. Not sure what happened but I’m disappointed. Hopefully things improve.

I heard a rumor that this place didn’t let patch holding members of motorcycle clubs in. I’m here now with some brothers. Mitch is the bartender. She said that is a rumor and they do let motorcycle clubs in here. Patch friendly and hold runs out of here.

Disappointing. Went in there tonight for Chicken & Jo Tuesday, and we usually go there frequently, although haven’t been there in a couple of months and it shows. First my lemon drop was super sour, not sweet at all (no sugar rim either)… The coleslaw had no dressing on it, the BBQ sauce tasted tangy and chunky, not sweet (almost like a cocktail sauce mixed with A-​1). The chicken was DIFFERENT. The batter wasn’t as crunchy and it tasted burnt. We usually substitute the Jo’s for fries, because they have awesome fries.(But that too was a mess of cold, shriveled, limp and dried out french fries). But when we asked to substitute. The server said ‘no substitutions. We changed that policy. So we had to order a $ 7 basket of fries. When I told her about the coleslaw with no dressing (just dried slaw) she said it changed because people were complaining about it having too much. If it says anything, the table next to me (an older couple who patrons there) said they too complained and said they will go to 2121 in the future. To top it off we have never been charged for BBQ sauce for our fries. And especially when you are paying $ 7 for fries. Sauce should complimentary. But yet they charged us 25¢ per sauce. The only reason we ate our food was because we were starving. Yeah, to say the least the server seemed snippidy, and didn’t care about our complaints. As a fellow service industry professional, things should have been fixed in the bill or at least a sincerity from the server. Needless to say, we wont be back, and I think others won’t either because it wasn’t as busy as it usually was. Save your money and go to 2121.

Not a bad spot. Nice location lots of locals good drinks… No country fried chicken tho which makes me really sad…

Great drinks and good food tonight.
My first time here, service was top notch and the drinks priced right.
Chicken and Jo’s was our option for dinner (apparently these folks are known it)
Coleslaw was a disappointment no flavor.

For a bar in the middle of no where, this is definitely 5 stars. The fried chicken is crispy and juicy. The famous Jo Jo’s are HUGE! The French Dip was really good too. Might not be 5 star cuisine but its good! Great view of Mt. Ranier too. If your in Puyallup, you’ve got to stop by. Go on a Tuesday for the fried chicken special for 2!

This cavernous locals joint with the com dining room chairs and to high TVs serves solid bar food choice with exceedingly long wait times.

This place is a real Puyallup Valley gem. Happy Hour starts at 2PM weekdays. Bartenders are also 5 stars for the super drinks, service and personalities they offer during each visit. I LOVE the food the Tuesday chicken & jo jo’s special is the best around. Just be ready to wait a little bit with an awesome cocktail or beer for each order is freshly breaded and pressure cooked when you order. Breakfast is served starting@ 8AM Sat and Sun it is large and always excellent. I especially love Norms Omelette with his home fries super job Norm! I have eaten here many many times ordering almost everything off the menu and am always pleased with the portions and food quality. A must stop in place when you have chance give it a try and review for yourself. A top notch viewing experience of Mt. Rainer from the covered deck area awaits.

Chalet tavern has the very best service and food! After we left bass pro shop because of horrible service we went to Chalet and they were amazing! They saved the night! It was my husbands 50^th. I sat down and next thing I knew I had a coke in front of me. We have been here before and they remember what you like and get you going before you get a chance to say anything! Thank you Jonathan! The McCann family appreciates the service we get at the Chalet!

you have got to be kidding me! we came in a few weeks ago to see a band play, have a few drinks and get some grub that we have been hearing so much about lately… the place was packed! we sat down and after about 10 minutes we were finally spotted by one of the servers. we each ordered a drink, which actually took 5 more minutes to get, then each ordered some food. I ordered the chalet burger and she had the dip. we were told it was an hour plus wait for food because only one person was staffed in the kitchen. really? on a weekend night? with a band? we were hungry and wanted to see the band so we waited. and waited. after 65 mins the food (which was delicious!) finally came out. but I would not recommend this place on a busy night if you are hungry. way under staffed for how much food was coming out, and the waitress told us that’s all management allows to be staffed. poor girl in the kitchen! =(

I have been to this place several times and the food was very good. But over the last several months the drinks seemed to get weaker and weaker. This evening we sat and watched one of the servers water down a vodka bottle. We ordered their wings and fries, but got wings and tots. The menu says the fries are bottomless, but when we asked for more we were informed that’s not the case any more. My first margarita had the lime wedge, my second one didn’t. Things have gotten rather slipshod here, and I can’t recommend it any more.

Went and picked up gizzards and joes. I had one beer and the total was 23.00!!! Way yoo pricey, and they charge you a dollar for a to go order. Smh

Great local bar. Has that small town feel were everyone knows each other. Bartenders are friendly and know how to pour a mean drink. The food is great and at a good price. The pool tables are a plus. I recommend this bar and I will be coming back!

We stopped here last Sunday afternoon after passing it up for the past year. Typical sports bar atmosphere and food choices. I ordered the prime rib dip and my bf ordered the Chalegg n bacon. My sandwich was made with cheese, when I asked for it without cheese and butter. However they were very quick to fix it and the sandwich was delicious! Perfect au jus sauce! My bf’s burger was honestly the size of two burgers! Huge!
This place was pretty good, too bad we’re not kid free that often. Otherwise we’d stop in more :)

Strong pours, nice crowd, hometown feel.
2 pool tables and jukebox.

Passable little tavern. Been around forever, full of regulars. Buffalo wings and jos were decent, bartender is a nice gal.

Service is slow OR real slow, but the foods good.

We have been there several times… absolutely LOVE it! They make the best Bloody Mary’s in town! Their weekend breakfasts are amazing! The service is wonderful… highly recommend it!
