Great place to drink wine. Had a wine fleet, portions were generous, had some new and good wines. Had a meat/cheese plate for 2 there was plenty, yummy and gluten free crackers if requested! Will go again!

Stopped in to have drinks before dinner and decided to try the wine flight. The bartender took the time to listen to our preferences and created custome wine flights for each person in our group. Great ambience and love the leather couches.

I feel that I need to share my most recent experience at Wine Down by the River. I have been here many times and would have given them a 5 star rating, but yesterday changed that. We went in around 5:30 and the bartender/sommelier helped with some suggestions and took our order. He was very helpful and pleasant to work with. All was going well until the«manager» and his entourage came in. He was very noisy, came behind the bar, starting fixing drinks for the entourage, knocking things over and belittling/berating the bartender, who had been doing a great job giving the small crowd his attention. As a customer, it made me uncomfortable to watch his behavior and how he and his group became the most important people in the bar. As a manager myself, I did not like the way he treated his employee. I cannot speak to whether or not the employee did anything wrong, but he was going a great job taking care of the customer. I really like this place a lot and intend to keep going. However, if this manager is going to be there and act like he did, that will just make me go somewhere else.

Service sucks. Been there several times and had to wait a long time. Even with owner sitting at the bar. They get that fixed, might be a decent place.

Hip atmosphere, knowledgable staff and excellent location. The tapas were good and were presented nicely.

Stopped in a couple weeks back(I think it might have been their opening week) for a little late night nosh and a glass of Cab. The bartender was fabulous. She was very nice and allowed me to taste a couple different wines before deciding. Interestingly, they don’t seem to maintain a «traditional» paper wine list; instead, the barkeep handed me a tablet upon which I could browse their website menu. My experience was slightly sullied, however, by who I believe to be the owner. He was perched at the end of the bar and kept jumping in on the conversation I was having with his employee to offer suggestions. Unfortunately, he didn’t come off as helpful as much as he came off as seeming to make his(very knowledgeable) server seem dumb or uneducated on the bar’s selection. If you’re running this sort of ‘classier’ place, you have to train and trust your staff, and that didn’t seem quite evident here. Overall, a gem on Union Avenue. I’ll be back!

Wow! What an amazing little place! I had the best Pinot noir I’ve ever had in my life in tiny little pueblo nonetheless! This is truly a hidden gem that just opened right next to the riverwalk. All of the wines are from small family owned vineyards. A wine snob’s dream! The meat and cheese boards were expertly done. The menu consists of lots of cheese boards, various types of skewers and some other items that looked fantastic! I will definitely be back for more wine!
