The History: Wow. What a difference 10 years makes! Lol it was probably a good 10 years ago that we tried DJs on two separate occasions. We had very bad service and the atmosphere wasn’t very good the first time we went. We thought we couldn’t understand what all the local hype was about. Then we had some good friends move into town and they too went to DJs and said how good they felt it was. Not wanting to be Steakhouse snobs, we went back a second time. Once again, the food was subpar, it was rather loud and«bright» in the Dining Room, the walls needed a makeover(actual hole in the wall near my seat) kind of old and musty feeling. We left thinking, with all the traveling we do, perhaps we’re spoiled with places like Harry Carey’s in Chicago, Joe’s Prime Steaks and Seafood in Las Vegas, Shanahan’s, Elway’s and Del Frisco’s in Denver. We determined that we would just be polite and keep our hands and our Unilocal to ourselves. Now we have the Paul Harvey«rest of the story» moment. We read recently, that someone we knew had purchased the place and was the new owner. New management, a little face lift to the décor, etc. So I suggested to my man let’s try it again. We had dinner there last night. We were apprehensive but what’s one meal? So adventurously we showed up with no reservation. The place was already packing up at 5:30. Chris greeted us and never indicated there was an issue with no reservation. Note to self – don’t risk it. Call ahead. When we left at 7 there were several parties waiting to be seated and we heard a wait of at least 30 minutes had started by 6. The dinner: We had Fried Mushrooms as the appetizer. My husband had the Cesar and I had the House Salad. He had a New York Strip and I had the Porterhouse T-Bone. The main«event» on the table was the steaks as it should be. They were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection.(Which at times can be a challenge here in little olé Pueblo). They were warm and juicy. The warm bread and cinnamon butter were delightful on a chilly Fall night. The service was very good. All for a highly reasonable price. The Atmosphere: The only«complaint» I might have, which has nothing to do with the food, service or management. We sat in the lounge where the music was a little loud, it’s a lounge so I expected that. However, the people at the table next to us were obviously having a grand time and were very loud and boisterous creating a head craning moment for several seated within proximity. No real harm though. Just a tad disruptive to our peaceful date. . We plan to go back much sooner than 10+ years.

We were in Pueblo for a cheer competition and looking for a good meal after a very long day. After reading the reviews on Unilocal,we decided we had to try this place. We had a large party of 15, of which 4 were tween girls. We were early on Halloween evening, around 4:45, and they were very slow as witnessed by the empty parking lot. We all went in and notified the hostess of the size of our party and asked how long the wait would be. We were informed that she would have to get the manager due to the size of our party. A person we assumed to be the manager came out to greet us and upon taking one look at our group, in particular, the children in our party, and informed us that there was nothing on the menu that they would like. We didn’t ask if there was anything on the menu, we asked for a table for 15. It’s a steak house, we read the Unilocal reviews, we knew what to expect, however, they either felt our children would be unwelcome to eat there or they didn’t really want to be bothered with us. With the average plate at $ 30+ a plate not including beverages, you do the math. We felt very discriminated against and could not believe they did not want to seat us because we had children. These were not young children, these were 12 year old girls! Shame on you and I hope other out of town people who read this will think twice about visiting your establishment!
