I’ve been here a number of times, primarily for Violet Waves. The acoustics could be better. But they do have a cowboy painting on the wall. 8⁄10

Velour is a nice venue for local talent and some better known shows alike. Its décor is very rustic and hipster friendly. The acoustics are good and its one of the better places in town for open mic nights(the slightly higher price is worth it). Tickets often get sold out for the bigger shows so plan ahead.

The Velour is a great music venue who showcases top local talent as well as out of town talent. The Velour has provided a stepping stone for bands, singer/songwriters hosting rising stars such as Imagine Dragons, Neon Trees, etc. The place is also a popular place to enjoy on Open Mic night. Fabulous sound system and very affordable even for students.

I love this place. What a diamond in the rough. The atmosphere has has been expertly crafted and It just feels great to hang out here. Really cool stage and great sound guys make playing here a pleasure. Corey Fox is becoming a nationally known taste-maker. What will be the next band with local ties to break out on the national scene? Chances are you’ll see them at Velour first.

I don’t get down to Provo often(maybe 2 times in 5 years) but when I had an event to attend at Velour, I jumped at the chance to go sightseeing down there. Everyone at velour was SO nice. The owner was nice, the staff was nice. No douchey bouncers here ordering you around at all. The sound quality was great and I loved the décor of the place. Slightly religious, but not off-putting. I can’t believe I had such a good time at a dry club.

Been here once, for Low. Tried to make Band of Annuals on an earlier date, but it was sold out. Loved this venue. It’s good to have local music, and good to have a nice place where people aren’t drunk. Mostly standing room, with a little seating along the sides. Nice people running it.

Velour is an all-ages music menu smack-dab in the middle of Provo. Catering mostly to the local music scene, Velour offers a safe, clean and comfortable place to hangout with friends and enjoy music. Since it is all-ages Velour does attract a younger crowd and since they don’t serve alcohol, the patrons are generally well-behaved and seldom unruly. Apparently the owner takes music pretty seriously(friend of his told me so) and I think it shows since Velour is not only one of the best sounding small venues I’ve been to, it is also one of the nicest looking. The inside of Velour is creatively decorated, with cool stained glass looking windows behind the stage and good lighting throughout. If you’re in the mood for some local music Velour is definitely worth visiting.
