Tasty burgers served up with chili and all the fixins. I like the chili, it adds a nice flavor to the burger. Fries are similar to Crown Burger. Besides burgers they also have hot dogs and chicken sandwiches. Some negatives: the building is small and old. Most people eat outside on the various picnic tables. There are a few stools inside. Fry sauce is not free. Also I tried to get a frequent diner card punched but was denied because I didn’t get a drink.(I don’t drink soda) No biggie, their restaurant their rules.

Wow… maybe people like this place for nostalgias sake? Not sure since it was terrible service… just awful… and really unappealing food. I’m all about small business, but not after our experience.

You have heard how little old family places usually have great food? This place hold true. I like the Chicago dog, the burger with chili is good. The pastrami burger is good too. I can’t remember a bad time coming here. A real gem in Provo. Don’t let the look of it scare you. 20 years plus and it’s still great

I’ve visited a few times, good burgers and chili. Close to my house so I like stopping for lunch. A bit on the expensive side. Service can be a bit slow and around lunch it gets packed inside the small shack.

The food is exceptional the wait and service keeps it from 5 stars. They know they are that good and they are right!!!

Best hot dog place in Utah hands down!!! This has been my go to place for many years. I went here when I graduated high school, came back from a church mission, graduated college, and tonight to celebrate a wedding anniversary. I have been going here for almost 20 years and is a must for anyone who likes hot dogs, hamburgers, and thick crunchy fries. Make sure to get the Chicago Dog. You won’t be disappointed.

Tommy must love chili, because it is on about half of the things on the menu. Tommy must have the worst gas. Because I just ate here once and… well you know… to to. Kind of felt a little betrayed by some of these reviews. I think we all need to relearn our adjectives and go easy on the superlatives. This place is good. Very expensive. There is a lot of chili flavor that kind of dominates all of the dishes. The burgers were the best part of my experience(two burgers, one hot dog, fries). Compared to other burgers you are over paying. The Texas style is nice because it adds a little sweetness to the very sodium filled chili. So i enjoyed that the most.(oh and im a sucker for bacon… just ask my girlfriend… made of bacon). The regular burger was good, but there were no off setting to the power of the chili the mustard and ketchup just added to it. So texas style it… uness you love sodium… and kidney stones. The dog… not great quality. Its no delicious beef dog, it is a high quality hot dog compared to like the store bought variety. Thankfully there was chili to distract from that kind of boiled taste… i don’t know how the cook them but mine had that watery taste… until the chili did a kato kaelin. Now lastly… this is what the majority of reviews got wrong… the french fries. Don’t get them unless you cover them in chili and cheese. I don’t think they’re fresh potatoes. Lightly fried, not seasons. It tastes like starch. Not for me. THEVERDICT: I am now noticing a majority of the 4 and five star reviews are by people who don’t review much. So maybe I have myself to blame for going here. But in reality it is a nice place to try once. Just dont get as much as me… save your money. Get a burger texas style and that should basically give you a much better experience than my super awesome best experience ever… lets learn to use our adjectives better. Is my plea to all.

Don’t judge the place by the building. It’s tiny, but they do chili cheese burgers right. The fries are good, better than most in the area. Local favorite for a long time. Lunches can get very busy. Although there is seating inside, it’s awkward when busy, picnic tables outside.

This place was alright. The owner was super friendly. The food was pretty good. We got the singles burgers and a large fry and it was plenty. You have to pay for fry sauce. We didn’t ask for water because we didn’t want to pay for that, too. It was a good place to try once

This place is a classic. Small, cozy and yummy. They’ve got original Chicago chili. I have been a customer for 10+ years and the food is as good as the first time. Service is great and you will not be disappointed with their chili cheese fries.

Owner was super nice and fries were great. I was expecting a burger joint and was supprised that the burgers had chili on them. I decided to try it out anyway but I don’t really love chili so wasn’t too excited about the burgers.

Not impressed. I thought this was goin to be some great burger joint. But it was just Costco burgers with some homemade chili. If you like chili, then this is your palace. But if you want a good burger joint. Skip this one.

My first experience and I’m not impressed. The place reeks of bad oil which is very off-putting. The fries also had a bad oil flavor. Classic Tommy hamburger left much to be desired. The service was fast and friendly. But if you want a delicious hole in the wall burger place in Provo, go to Ripples instead.

I’ve been driving past this place every morning on my way to work for the past four months and finally decided to check it out. I have a love affair with cheeseburgers and I’m not too hard to please when it comes to greasy food. I don’t know if it’s standard, but there was only one guy working when we went, but it worked out okay because we were the only ones there. The prices weren’t bad for a burger shack. And we did get free root beer floats with our combo meals in celebration of their 26th anniversary. The burgers were good. Nothing to write home about, but still tasty. I thought it was a little weird that they put chili on all of their burgers, but it was actually pretty good. The fries were just… fries. Nothing special there either. If I were craving a greasy cheeseburger, I’d probably put this on a list of places to consider.

I can’t count the number of times I’ve driven by this shack until my curiosity got a hold of me and we stopped one night last month. There seems to always be customers in line and sitting outside so it just had to be good we thought. The service is good and was relatively quick. We sat outside since there are only a couple bar stools inside and it smells a little smokey since the cooker is inside. I love the idea of a good burger shack and I really want to like Tommy’s Burgers. But the burgers weren’t that good. The meat patties were fine, the fries were average, but the buns were simple cheap buns and the chili just tasted strange on the burger and we were both a little sick later that night(disclosure: we don’t eat fast food more than a few times a year so maybe we just don’t have the stomachs for this type of greasy food). With so many food options just a block away on Center St., I’m not sure I would come back now that I’ve satisfied my curiosity. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great and I would probably shrug if someone asked me if they should eat there.

Damn! Good! Burgers! I have wanted to try this place since the mid 1980’s when I used to walk past it on my way home from school. But, alas, I was a poor kid, with no money, in a small town. All I could do was SMELL the place as I walked past it. Now, many many lifetimes later, I finally got my chance. And, y’know what? I should’ve scraped my pennies together and tried this place decades ago! The burgers are tasty and delicious and the fries are crunchy and golden. I was there at lunchtime and they were slinging burgers like crazy! I thought, given the line, that I would be there forever. But they are efficient and they have a great system. I’m impressed all the way around. I would give them 5 stars, but the place is dirty and the building seems like it’s about ready to fall down any minute.

This place is FANTASTIC. The food is cheap, delicious and there is a TON of it. The place is basically a shack in the parking lot of an auto shop but don’t be put off by the location!
