We both got cheesesteaks and fries. Not super cheesy, but pretty meaty. I love their fries.
Cool laid back spot to get burgers and shakes on a casual date. The plus is that the food is pretty good, and the price is lower than a lot of places.

If it says Cheesesteak, I’ve got to try it. Fortunately, they don’t claim to be a Philly Cheesesteak. It isn’t. It’s not really the best thing here by a long shot. It’s old school. They know who their regulars are, and they give them what they want — hearty comfort food with a big hello. They have real malts. The kind that you can actually drink, not some brick of ice cream with mix-​ins called a shake. It ought to get a star just for that.
So, not a great cheesesteak, but a solid place to eat if you are in the area.

Stayed on Provo last night and happened to eat here. My partner had the philly delux (I think that was the name) and we both had the clam chowder. He enjoyed the sandwich and we both give two thumbs up on the chowder. After a pleasant visit with Becky, we went to pay ou bills and I noticed some rather large slices of banana bread staring at me. We both purchased a slice and ate them on the road this morning. Some of the best I have had. The short of it? Great food, good prices and nice staff.

Only been here once. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Great Stake. I came about 2 o’clock in the afternoon and there was nobody here. My food came out in less than three minutes piping hot. The presentation of the food can’t be beat. The fries are super hot and seasoned well.
The price of the burger is about what you pay at Wendy’s. The bun is super soft and tasty. I have no complaints.
The store itself is a very old building. It has Spanish tile and is kept very clean. I would recommend coming here over fast food any day.

I have been to this place twice in the last month. Both times I have been very pleased with what I have ordered. The first time I ordered a steak and everything. The sandwich was full of meat that was properly seasoned, and went to the end of the roll, and the tomatoes onions and green peppers were all fresh. You could tell the French fries were fresh cut and not frozen, and were also properly seasoned.
The second time I ordered a burger, and I was also very pleased with that meal as well. I could tell the meat was not frozen or thawed, was very flavorful and cooked to perfection. The bun was also fresh and perfectly toasted.
As mentioned in previous reviews the inside looks a little dated and could use a remodel, which it probably hasn’t had in years. But that will not prevent me from coming back.

My wife and I had family from out of town over this weekend and had heard good things about this place. Seeing as it was just a few minutes away we brought everyone over.
Food was incredible out of the 7 people we got 6 different meals and everyone loved it. I personally got the special that day which was the jalapeño popper steak sandwich. It was so freaking delicious and the price was excellent for the quality. I would highly recommend people give this place a try!
This place isn’t a fancy restaurant with high prices so don’t expect something you aren’t paying for.

Super pleased with our meal. Super reasonable and THE most friendly staff. Will definitely be back. Oh and the cheese steak sandwich hit the spot. Didn’t try the old fashioned desserts tonight but I will next time.

We like to call it «The OK Steak». It’s not great, it’s OK. It’s a good place to go if you’re in the area and need a cheese steak fix, but other than that I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here.
The cheese steaks are decent, but the flavor is lacking at times. Sometimes it just needs some salt, other times I can’t put my finger on what’s missing.
The fries are actually really good. It’s my favorite part of the meal here. The fry sauce is also very good but you have to pay extra if you want more than one little cup.
The restaurant itself is a little stuffy, and sometimes I get the perception it’s a little dirty. The nice this is they have a drive through if you don’t have time to go in and sit down.

Solid cheesesteak with quick friendly service… what more can you ask for. Maybe extra fry sauce if it’s to go. We had a few everything’s, hot veg and big daddy. Big daddy had ham mush cheese and onions, with a great beefy flavor that filled me up. All of the rolls were fresh tasting with great texture. I’d suggest anyone driving by to hit this place up for some cheap good grub. Most combos are around $ 7.50 for fries and a drink.

After a day at the lake or as a stop off I-​15 this is an amazing food joint. The fries are really good here. The steak sandwiches are good, and they make a good hamburger too. One of those places thats out of the way and easy to forget about, but when you try it you will be glad you did.

Decent food. Not the best and not the worst. Had the everything sandwich. Meat was a little light in my opinion — but I felt it was reasonably priced so no complaints. If I was hungry I would go for the double option.

I finally decided to give this place a try. I lively the west side of Provo and have driven by this place for years.
I ordered the «Steak and Everything» sandwich. It was delicious. Other items on the menu looked great too. They claim to have the best clam chowder in the valley. I’ll have to put that to the test sometime.
Additionally, the staff was friendly and welcoming. Great local business!

My wife and I love this place and everyone we’ve told to go or taken loves it as well. It’s not a classy, find dining place, but it’s tasty! The fries taste like they go out and pick the potatoes out of a garden when you order and then fry them. I love the variety of sandwiches and burgers.

A friend and I decided to try this place after a recommendation by a few people. Sadly, after our meal we were questioning the culinary judgement of those that sent us there.
The «Steak with Everything» sandwich — their signature dish — was mediocre at best. The meat was bland, and was only palatable after adding salt and pepper graciously provided at the table. The fries were good, but fries alone can’t win a meal over.
I suggest you look elsewhere if you’re considering the Great Steak Sandwich Co.
