Great food at a good price. Authentic meals and never busy. It looks la bit dated from the outside but it’s a great place. Big portions. Nice lady who runs the place. Sad thing is it is now closed:(

China Garden no longer exists. It is now Golden Palace. They still have $ 6 lunch specials though. The following is a review for the new Golden Palace restaurant. Our group gave the following ratings: Food: ok to good Presentation: good Speed of service: somewhat slow considering the numbers in the restaurant at the time Cleanliness: poor. There was lipstick on the glasses and the silverware had to be cleaned before use. Overall: would not go again (if everything was clean I may have given 3 or 4 stars) Orange chicken: sauce was excessively caramelized and was chewy/sticky, however it wasn’t bad and some may even prefer it this way. The flavor was good.

This is truly some of the best Chinese food I have ever had. YES! the place is a little run down but the food is really great and the price is even better. As for all the negative reviews, I have been coming here for years and the owner is so very nice. It seems to me that those with no taste in food have been eating at panda express to much. If you need some more great feedback on this place, give Google reviews a look.

Everyone who has previously reviewed China Garden is misunderstanding the business model. If you think you’re going to get«PF Chang’s» for 5 dollars a plate, you’re fooling yourself. For $ 5 this is the best Chinese Food money can buy. Each meal is really like two meals in size. The owner is a sweet, kind, woman who remembers her customers and treats them like friends. Try the General Tso, it’s killer.

Bills itself as the best Chinese food in Provo. Don’t believe it for a second. My wife and I went and it was some of the worst food and worst service we have ever had anywhere. I suggest avoiding this place. With the other choices available just in Provo, there is no reason to stop here.

No. No, no-no, no, no. Otherwordly humongous portions of some of the very worst Chinese I’ve ever had. So bad that I hesitate to think of it. I’m particularly adverse to trying to describe it. I’ve eaten literally nothing here that qualifies as edible. A four-cup mountainous pile of greasy, mushy, oversalted fried rice… ummm, again, I’m going with ‘no.‘ As if the Chinese restaurant Gods were sending a very clear warning to anyone who dares approach, this entire place is truly a dive, inside and out. It’s been around for about 700 years(as different failed restos, typically Chinese), and has only been updated and cared for once… I think. Maybe sometime back in the 80’s? Silver lining? Sure thing — it’s cheap. One person can get enough slop to feed a family of six for around $ 7. Search on, my Chinese-loving friends. Search on.

I love China Garden! Service is fast, prices are cheap, and the food is quite good, with very generous portions. All of the chicken dishes are good, particularly the lemon chicken.
