I have stopped by a couple times. One time we had an awesome bartender, super friendly. A couple other times, the bartenders were a little less friendly and the drinks were lacking the«bite» I want in a martini. Cute space though and extensive drink list.

Came in and grabbed drinks. They didn’t carry any ciders, my preferred drink, so the bartender made me something similar. It was light and refreshing and just perfect! He was an amazing bartender and soooo cute! I will come back again!

I have been coming here for over 12 years, and it used to be really great. Over the past two years I have noticed that the drinks are watered down and barely contain any alcohol. I suspect that they are watering down the drinks to save money, which is ridiculous considering the amount of money they charge. The employees, as well as the owner tend to be nasty and snotty. Beware! Don’t buy mixed drinks at this place. The $ 14 you pay for the martini might ruin your vacation.

Originally I would have very high reviews of this place. I have been going there for over 10 years, but recently it has changed. Over the past two years I and others have noticed that the drinks are more potent than they should be and found on several occasions getting sick on just one or two drinks. I suspect that they are watering down the drinks with grain alcohol, which is cheaper than the the spirits they are serving. Beware. Dont buy mixed drinks at this place. The $ 14 you pay for the martini might ruin your vacation.

Ok yes we loved it. #1 reason — very cute friendly bartender. yum. Also the drinks were really, though mega expensive by our provincial standards. Décor was fine.

My absolute favorite place in Ptown. My dilemma with PTown is this: I hate seafood. All seafood. When I vacation here Im usually stuck eating frozen hamburgers, and bad pizza. I had given up hope that Id ever have a really good meal in Ptown. And then I came here. The martinis are excellent. Yes, they are rather pricey– but you’re getting a quality beverage with mostly alcohol(premium alcohol, too, none of that Mr. Boston plastic bottle stuff). But for me, its the food. My friend and I came here and split 3 tapas(sesame noodles, sushi, spare ribs) and it was phenomenal. In fact, it was so good, we cancelled our reservations for the following day and came here again. The second time, we picked 3 different tapas, and again, so good. I’m somewhat hesitant to review the service here due to the fact that the majority of PTown summer employees are from another country and seasonal. Our first night was excellent service, the second was pretty terrible. I will say; however, on our second night the manager saw the frustration in our faces and came over immediately and fixed our issues. Regardless of whether or not you like seafood, you have to come here when you’re in Ptown.

First night in town and headed here for martini and a few laughs with friends. My drink was fine but friend thought his was too sweet and not what he expected. Bartender did the eye roll and gave us some sass. He poured a little more very cheap vodka is his glass and gave more sass. My friend was not happy and left. I got the round the of 3 drinks $ 47.00 plus $ 6.00 tip and at that price my friend should have gotten what he wanted. I come to this town for fun not to be irritated by a small minded bartender. Never going back!!!

Awesome bar, great bartenders, great drinks, fun company. We’d much rather get a great drink here than at one of the big dance clubs that charge the same for something crummy in a plastic cup. Manny and the other bartenders treated us all very well and we’ll be back next time we are in Ptown. Just a note… we enjoyed the drinks much more than the food, but were relieved to be able to eat something in ptown that was not so traditional american– seafood and burgers.

You might say I’m «bananas» for the Monkey Bar! Or, more appropriately, I’m «nuts» about the place! Came here numerous times during my week in Ptown and was never disappointed. Manny the bartender is a national treasure. He got my friends and I turned on to the Peanut Butter martini that had a nut-rimmed glass. Always a friendly crowd, excellent drinks and outstanding service from the friendliest bartender in town. You’ll go «ape» over The Monkey Bar! (Sorry for all the bad puns. I clearly have a problem)

Experienced a sort of ok time. Got there and ordered a drink for me and my partner. Bartender gave us attitude over the price of some drink. I didn’t appreciate it but for the sake of the evening and our time, we stayed. Once we finished the drink, we left. We both agreed we didn’t need the attitude for a place that needed our business to stay afloat.

You’re going to walk in and think it’s expensive. You’re going to walk in and scoff at those prices. Please: stay anyway. I have never in my life had tom kai gai soup with the rich depth of flavor as that soup. My boyfriend’s meal was just as spectacular. The ambiance is fun, the music videos even more fun, the staff exceptionally sweet and friendly. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. We’re locals here and it’s high on the list of the best food in town.

This was the worst breakfast ever! Yesterday 5 of us went in & as we were the only table we thought we would get great service… wrong! It was the servers 1st day & between his lack of the English language & lack of any training he didn’t have a clue as to how to be a server. I did feel a little sorry for him but I’m paying for service. We ordered 3 cups of coffee & he brings 3 little creamers, no sugars, food was cooked improperly. 2 of us ordered over hard eggs & they came out over easy, which I hate. He let dirty dishes sit on the table & was standing around. We had to constantly ask for everything; salt, pepper, ketchup… They charged us $ 2.50 for a REFILL cup of coffee & to add insult to injury they put 15% on the check! Loud music &TV’s on with dance videos is not breakfast atmosphere. I will never go back there again & will everyone that.

The Monkey Bar is my favorite place to get drinks in Provincetown. The music is too loud and the drinks are a little too expensive, but they’re also totally delicious. The crowd here is generally cooler and friendlier than other spots in Ptown, especially on this side of town. It isn’t teeming with Bieber-wannabe yolo douches in neon shirts and sunglasses indoors. It’s not the place to go show off and pick up a stranger, it’s the place to meet or make some friends and have a few decadent tropical drinks. The bartenders here are generally very nice, regardless of whether you’re a handsome muscle man or just a lesbian.

Okay, but not really remarkable. The seating is nice, with a whole lounging area perfect for hanging out while remixes of Gotye and Rihanna blare over your head. My drink was strong, but pricey($ 13 :O). The bartender was quite good at making the drink, so drink-wise it seems like a good place if you can stomach the costs.

Monkey Bar. How do I describe thee. Décor was clean, yet cozy. I could easily sit here on a rainy day and sip a cocktail, or shake my rump on the(non-existent) dance floor. The patrons were super nice and the bartender was engaging. Drinks are pricey, but hey, it’s P-Town. Just about every review you will read about P-Town spots will have those very words in them. We sampled the Edamame and the Lobster Rangoons… both of which I would recommend highly. (Side note: Drinks are pricey, but the bartender(at least for us), made sure we got our money’s worth… something I can’t say for other P-Town Spots).

This was the final pit spot before the ferry ride back to Boston as the Unilocal Invasion III slowly drew to an end. We proceeded to walk in and were immediately seated — the place was nearly empty when we first walked in. We ordered a few cocktails and some food. The food was extremely expensive here; the culprit was the orange chicken which cost well over $ 22 for a few bits of sugary, orange-y chicken and some rice. Ludicrous I say! Sure, it tasted pretty good, but seriously, unless Wolfgang Puck is making it or Gordon Ramsay, there’s no reason to charge that much. And that applied to most of the food on their menu. The few cocktails I had there were very inconsistent. The first one was strong and the second one was weak and poorly mixed. It’s like the bartenders are sloppy and don’t care. Even the friendly owner who came up and checked in on us admitted that some of the drinks they offer suck. Not a good sign. Overall the experience there was good, but far from great — the staff is friendly, food decent, cocktails ok but the prices aren’t consistent.
