Lovely place for an intimate meal — amazing service… honestly better than 90% of the places we frequent in Boston. Food is unbelievable. Limited menu that’s perfected; exactly what should be expected of a restaurant at this price point. GOHERE!

We had a table reserved at this great little spot down at the end of Commercial street in late October — one of the only places open in the off-season. Recommended by a co-worker — we walked into the dimly lit space, and were greeted by the hostess who gave us the best little table in the corner — when my gal spotted a friend at the bar — who owns a place down the street. They had no issue with us changing tables to sit at the bar and poured us a couple drinks to get the night going, the mescal drink with some delicious orange/oaxacan chololate — smooth but STRONG… Oysters and some conversation, a couple more drinks and main courses — specials for the night — Amazing. Duck Confit, huge portion of wonderful, tender duck that was only rivaled by Ana’s Short Ribs — OMG. All in All — a superb dining experience that the off season in PTown provides. We’ll be back for sure.

This was a foodie’s playground! We came to Provincetown during the off-season and this place was still JAMMED! As others have mentioned, it has a sexy vibe with the low lights, cool light fixtures, and intimate, yet bustling setting. The specialty drinks were outstanding. Drinks ordered: white linen and up vodka martini with grapefruit bitters(not on the menu) and both were made to perfection. Food: Fried Spanish olives, baby octopus salad(the dressing was AMAZING), duck confit flatbread(a weird complaint but actually had too much meat for my taste, thought my bf loved it… it was still DELICIOUS& most people would welcome the extra meat, obviously). We ended our meal with a scoop of saffron gelato topped with crispy(candied??) orange zest. The chef’s here take pride in what they prepare; you will not be disappointed. With how busy this place was during the off season(we made reservations the day prior), I can only imagine how swamped this place must be during the high season!

By far… best establishment in P-Town! It was located directly across the street from our rental and it was Columbus Day weekend(off season) but it was JAMMED all night, every night. It’s a one story, probably 1,000 sq foot space with stunning light fixtures, beautiful bar, and an amazingly friendly staff. We discovered it on a Saturday and around 6pm I went inside(to a packed house and barely any tables open for the night) and spoke with Diana, the hostess. I told her it was my partners birthday, we just found out about Joon, and would love some bar seats later in the night if possible. She took down my number and without fail, called me at 8:30 and told us to get our butts there because she had bar seats with our names on them! Diana for the WIN! We sat on the side of the bar and we were taken care of by Chuck(?) who was so friendly, kind, didn’t rush us… the epitome of making us feel at home. We ordered the mushrooms and stuffed olives to start. I HATE olives but was«forced» to try one… they were delicious! The fact they are deep fried and stuffed with manchego didn’t hurt :) Then we got the burger and steak to split… unbelievable. The burger, though this is a very cosmopolitan place, was so delicious I could have had 2. What put it over the top was that Diana arranged to have a small chocolate gelato delivered to us with a candle for my partners birthday. I just got such a great feeling from this staff. We loved it so much we went back 2 nights later, got bar seats, had amazing cocktails, and split a flatbread. We were able to meet Audrey(the owner?) and praised her for the service she’s providing the town with this establishment. We loved it so much we’re hoping to get a spot there for New Year’s Eve!

My new favorite place in Ptown. Everything about this place is great, so much that I had to go there one more time on my vacation. Excellent service, awesome drinks made with love, delicious food, nice ambiance. I had the steak and the scallops.

We felt this was by far the best restaurant in town — fabulous food, décor, and staff! Everyone was incredibly welcoming and the service was top notch(special shout out to Dan who was fun, kind and knowledgeable). The food was creative and well executed. We will be back on our next trip!

Really nice evening dining at Joon. The dining room itself is very tastefully simple and lively(aka, a bit«noisy» in case you are sensitive to that). It is also dim so we saw almost everyone have to use additional illumination(i.e. cell phones) to be able to read menus. Should seem easy enough to find the right lighting and ambience. But that’s really where my criticisms end. We started with cocktails(full bar, YAY!) and the fried olives, which were tasty… salty and molten(so let them cool off a bit before chomping down). Next we had the oysters with granita(FANTASTIC and nicely priced at only $ 13 for 6) and duck sliders with slaw… the highlight of the meal. You get 2 good sized sliders with the order and they are not enough to fill you up, but the perfect culinary boost and the flavors were spot on… savory and a little smoky, served on beautiful petit biscuits. I literally could not improve on the dish… it seemed perfectly conceived and executed… yummers! For entrees, we had the cod and the steak frites. The cod was nice though very mild and a bit on the sweet side(due to the miso glaze), It was paired with an arugula salad that was a nice compliment to the fish… I might have preferred the other fish dish in hindsight(hake), but there wasn’t anything wrong with the cod, it just didn’t stand out. The steak frites entrée was served with a perfect chimichurri sauce(not overly garlic-y…just right) and a delectable smoky home made catsup for the frites(which were plentiful enough for 2 – 3 people to share). Because we had ordered a bit more than 2 people could reasonably devour(even though we somehow managed to clean our plates), we skipped dessert, but went home completely happy. Really the only reason this wasn’t 5 stars was due to the noise level and odd interior lighting(which kept adjusting up/down throughout the evening). Also, note that they have«hightop» and table seating which you should specify when you make your reservation. The hightop is stool seating situated in the middle of the restaurant(where most of the foot traffic is)…so not as intimate by my calculation. But check it out… you shouldn’t be let down by this gem of a restaurant as there is plenty to enjoy.

This place is awesome. If you are looking for a cozy restaurant with great food– this is definitely a place to go in Ptown. We had the pea flatbread(delicious) and a waygu burger! So good!

My favourite newish restaurant in PTown. An excellent choice for the single diner by sitting at the bar. The staff is highly knowledgeable, wine list excellent. Larger than average by the glass list, well curated and balanced. Fair pricing. Inivative cocktail specialists. Love the Lavender Stormy. Plates are appetizers, salads, small and big plate. Great for sharing. The menu varies by season and whim. Not a large selection of dishes but a concerted menu design. Five stars and another reason Provincetown has become a Foodie Mecca.

Delicious food well presented and served. Would have gotten 5 stars but for the prices and setting. Our first night in town we threw caution to the wind and splurged. This is a once a vacation spot though. There are many, many other good restaurants in town at more moderate prices and bay views. Joon is small, dark and intimate. Very creative cocktail menu. We enjoyed a White Linen, a ginger-infused lemonade drink and a Black Beauty, a blackberry and basil number, both with vodka. They were both a refreshing and exotic start. The grilled octopus salad was the star of the dinner. Simply delicious! We shared the miso glazed cod and the pan seared scallops. The cod was fabulous, but the scallops just really good. Joon offers several small plates a little larger than a tapas portion. But for the cod, we probably would stick with these if we go back. Both dishes came served on a bed of fresh greens. There was no need for a side salad, but so glad we didn’t know that before ordering the octopus.

Went here with a large group for dinner on a Friday night. Even during the off-season this place was pretty packed and we waited about 20 mins for a table. To start off, I decided to go with a margarita. I don’t know if I’ve ever sent a drink back, but the margarita was so heavy on the mix that it was too sour to drink. The waiter had it remade and it was better the second time around. For my meal, I decided to split one of the flatbreads with a friend that had pork confit and cheddar cheese. The dish was good, but nothing to write home about. Overall, this space has a nice esthetic but I felt like the food lacked a certain bit of excitement. In addition, I felt like some of the menu items were overpriced – even for Ptown – but it is a cool new space in Ptown.

This was possibly the best meal I’ve had in Provincetown since I moved here. They totally nailed it. The décor alone is worth the trip. It is absolutely beautiful(tip o’ the hat to Kevin O’Shea). The cocktails are(mostly) outstanding. I tried the Clean Linen cocktail(wonderfully light and refreshing) as well as the Black Beauty(not my favorite, but then again I have pretty fruity taste), and sampled the Joon Bar Margherita(outstanding and bold). We had read about the fried olives for an appetizer and they absolutely lived up to their reputation. They were crunchy, cheesy, and a little salty at the same time. Two people in our party went with the garden salad which had a salad dressing that was so good, they could sever it as a drink. For entrées, most everyone in our party went with(and raved about) the halibut. I ordered the heirloom tomato flatbread which was f**king perfect. It wasn’t too heavy, but a very generous portion size, and had a wonderful olive oil drizzled on top of it. The only thing that could have made it even better would have been perhaps a little sprinkle of goat cheese. Back at the beginning of the season I got to meet the owner and I told her I could tell immediately that she was a very intelligent business person. I’ve walked by Joon Bar dozens of times on the way home and it is ALWAYS packed. Now I know why.

Ambitious pricing on the menu for a touristy town where a lobster roll can be sold ranging from $ 15-$ 28, a draft beer in this town is around $ 7, and a shaked designed cocktail can be from $ 9-$ 14. Just want the readers know everything is relative. If anyone who knows me I’m not a picky eater from El Bulli to French Laundry, from dirty hotdog in NYC to White Castle, I always find the goodness and sensitivity of what the chefs trying to archive and the place and purpose of the meal. Every artist wants to have an audience. I am the first to appreciate it. The ambience is very unPTown, uptown beauty! Clean walls and shelvings in two shades of cool gray as a backdrop, majestic vintage warm French Pastisse dimmed pendant lamps in four styles and levels above an extra long black cement bar gives off a Dale Chilhuley a la Mondrian downtown grand look and feel… Very NYC chic chic post 2005. I love and understand«repetition equals a statement,» but I would take a few of them off sometimes less is more. As for the way the menu was priced, paper napkin is absolutely not acceptable, the carpet doesn’t match the drapes. Even the burger joint down the strip offers crisp linen napkins. Wish the bar staff would match the waiters and runners’ uniform cuz the contrast of their clothing was quite much and it’s distracting. Waiters are in medium gray long sleeves button down, black pants and long long black apron. Very highend very professional! Super nice friendly staff overall probably because the tip is on the level of Daniel Baloud and ABC kitchen. I appreciate great friendliness, of course, just even more so if it’s at a Wendy’s or KFC. Here comes to the food… If in five words as an Unilocal title, I would say«The price is not right.» $ 22 average tapas(in an new American restaurant when they call dishes tapas size it usually means«Bitch Better Have Money!»), the flat bread was $ 25. 1) We picked the fig w prosciutto flatbread. it was more delicious after a few bites followed with wonderful aftertaste. I would serve it on a cheeseblock wood it would make it more Italian oven cooked and hide the grease left on a white plate. 2) Three pieces of 5“X1.5“x1.5″ warm and crunchy French bagguette w Vermont butter and some too vinegary olives dip lack of salt and sugar, it should be free not $ 8 outrageous. 3) Here is the finale, we were recommended the stripes sea bass, supposed to be cooked to perfection w a crunchy butter skin. Presentation of it is 110% beautifully set up and picture perfect! To the Asians foodies, great photo op for this dish. Anyone who watched Rachel Ray before, it’s very elementary to butter crunch skin side of a piece of oily fish. It fell so flat to my expectation. How flat? It’s like the Brazil semifinal vs Germany in the 2014 World Cup. it was just ok fresh and overcooked. Not overcooked enough to complain if it’s your mother-in –law’s Sunday meal, but it’s enuf to say I shouldn’t cough out $ 38 for it. The bed of extremely fresh green beans, nicely diced herbs and baby corn parsley salsa mixed w the special sauce was quite good(well the forest green sauce was so flavorless maybe cuz it’s for décor purpose?) but not enuf to hide the fact that this dish is way overpriced at $ 38! Yes $ 38!!! For a local chef who looks like he still has a few things to sort out and learning to be world class, in my opinion, start with a less aggressive pricing model and gradually increase later would welcome more returning customers. Phew just my two cents…
