The food is pathetic even when u are drunk. The portions were so small I did a double take. Wouldn’t eat there again… Ever

Love the Central Falls Stanley’s. This place left a bad taste in my mouth figuratively and literally. My burger came out of the kitchen at half the size of my wife’s burger. I mentioned something to my server who said that Stnaley’s burgers are small. My wife’s burger was small(normal), mine was tiny. The server then walked away mocking me for saying something. The manager did come over and apologize and got me another burger, that’s the only reason for the two stars. In general, the food at this location is not up to the same standard at the Central Falls location. Want a good burger at a good price? Go to Lili Marlene’s.

My coworker and I stopped here for carryout months ago and we still talk about it. Cheap juicy burgers. No complaints. Can’t address the service since we didn’t eat in.

came here again… never will i return to this place. this last time, it was clean, unlike the previous disaster. however, service still sucked. i only left a tip for the girl because she is very pretty. yep, i sometimes tip based on looks alone. sue me. eitherway, i ordered a stanley came out disgusting-cheap floopy bun, burned and OLD cooked stredded onions, rubbery pickles, and the meat tasted like unseasoned ground beef that they just flattened out on a grill. not so much as a pinch of salt on it.nada. they put the burned old onions on the bottom of the burger. i ate it anyways… it was edible but disgusting. the reason i ate it anyways is because i also ordered chilli cheese fries. the chilli was disgusting as well… where is the flavor? all i tasted was green pepper and kidney bean, and burned food. add some salt to that crap, if you are gonna serve it. the cheese was that nasty melted cheese goop that is a step below the free nacho cheese you get at 7÷11… and, the mess was seated on top of old burned fries. it was literally inedible. i would have described the burger as inedible, but i was able to choke it down-it just tasted nasty, even with all the ketchup and mustard. the chilli cheese fries were the most un-eat-able food stuff i’ve ever experienced in my life. i love love love chilli, cheese, and fries… i will eat them no matter how nasty they are… but these were so gross, i couldn’t even nibble on them. i actually had to send them back. i never ever send food back. they were so bad, i actually asked to have it taken off my bill. i never ever have food taken off my bill… especially when it is only 5 bucks. but that is how nasty this was. speaking of the bill, i was charged a large coffee milk, that i did not ask for. i kept it anyways, tried it, and it was warm milk. however i don’t think it was supposed to be warm. i gave it to my son though because he did not want to drink his koolaid. however, when i looked in his cup later, there were particles floating around… mind you, i was watching him the whole time, he barely took a sip of the drink, and it was before he ever ate any food. that means the particles were there prior to him getting his cup. from now on, i bust open all kiddy drinks for inspection. anywho…i also ordered a hotdog, just in case the burger was gross. well, stanleys certtainly stepped up their game on hot dogs. last time i came in, they were so plain tasting. this time, they were flavorful, juicy, hot… the dog was sliced down the middle and grilled, and so was the bun. covered in fresh tasting relish, mustard, onions and celery salt. yum. so good, i even ordered another one on my way out. the mac n cheese for my son was pretty good too-not over cooked and mushy. he did not like the mccain smiles, but i love those so i gobbled them up… a little undercooked-but at least they were not burned.yum. anywho, my bill came to 20 bucks, for a burger, kids meal, 2 hot dogs and a coffee milk i did not order, plus the tip. i will never come back, unless i am in dire need of a hotdog… this time, the hot dog was delicious… but the last times, the hotdogs were plain. maybe there is a new cook. maybe it was a fluke. all i can say for sure is that i can’t make a meal out of hotdogs alone-not when they charge 2.25 each for them.

Stanley’s Hamburgers are tasty. They are a bit too pricey for this location in Providence considering that you can just walk across the street and pay half the price for the same type of burger. Not my first choice for a burger but if your looking for a burger only joint in this area than Stanley’s Hamburgers is the place for you.

I’ve been to this Stanleys location about 4 times since they opened, having been to the original Central Falls location dozens upon dozens of times since I was young. Stopped in the Richmond Street store last night to try to satisfy a craving for a Stanleyburger… and for the fourth time, was disappointed with what I got. I’ll start with a small disclaimer: I hate onions. HATE onions. So I get my burgers without onions(for those of you not in-the-know, Stanleys builds all their burgers with a mound of onions that pretty much get ‘smashed’ into the burgers.) I ordered 2 burgers, and a side order of Quebec fries. I managed to choke down the first burger, and barely touched the second one. They were dry, flavorless and just not what I’ve come to expect from Stanleys. There is definitely something WAY different between the original Central Falls location and the new Providence one. not sure if the grill needs another 30 years of seasoning, if the method of cooking isn’t the same or if the staff«isn’t doing it right». but whatever it is, the burgers have not been what I’ve come to expect(and love) about the original Stanleys location. The fries were still fantastic though, and the server was quick, friendly, and courteous. The food came out quickly and was hot and fresh. just did not TASTE like what I’ve come to expect about(and love about) the original location.

Great burgers that are thin and not compact. Truly like an old fashion burger. Had them twice and have not been disappointed.

I’m so glad I got a gift certificate to this place because if I had to waste my own money on the food I got here, I’d certainly be a lot more pissed. Ordered a double cheeseburger, veggie burger, and Quebec-style fries. Order came out to about $ 16. We didn’t even order a meal or drinks. That’s about $ 5 an item and no item blew us away with portion size or quality. Contrary to what people may say on these reviews, the food is NOT that cheap. A large fries for $ 5? First off the double cheeseburger actually turned out to be a single. We ordered to-go and I found only one patty. I was very sad. The cheese however was good quality, not your ordinary Kraft single. It was a white cheddar that had some good flavor. The patty was pretty small and thin. Grilled onions were saltier than expected. The veggie burger actually costed more than a double cheeseburger!!! That’s insane! When did vegetables cost more than TWO beef patties? I thought… this’d better be the best veggie burger ever, maybe something house-made or with expensive mushrooms but it was an ordinary veggie burger with lettuce and tomatoes. At least add in some grilled mushrooms or something to make it worth our while! Ugh. The Quebec style fries are their little play on poutine from Canada… which is delicious, but their attempt was also subpar. As opposed to cheese-curds they top the fries with mozzarella and then pour the gravy over. The fries at baseline are not crisp and then add the gravy and you get a soggy mess. This needs to be rethought to make it into something more authentic. The only thing that made this place a 2-star instead of a 1-star was the fact that the guy who took our ordered let us get complimentary grilled onions on our burgers and fries. It’s the least you can do for such expensive, subpar dining.

Stanley’s Hamburgers knows how to make a flavorful sandwich that satisfies the belly and greases the gears. Having passed by this establishment on several occasions, it was about time I stepped through its doors. After scouring the menu online, I walked in with high hopes for a grumbling tummy. Opting for takeout, I ordered a Double Bacon Cheeseburger. A burger with entirely too many toppings for me to remember was added to the order along with a small french fry to share.(This was after the host informed us that a large fry served 3 – 4 people as opposed to us 2.) Service was quick.. . waited no longer than 10 minutes for our food to be bagged and served. Fearing for grease stains on my jeans, I being the car passenger, held the bags in the air for the entire trip home. The burger was a pleasant surprise. Very flavorful, the ingredients blended well giving it a unique yet enjoyable taste. Definitely not your run-of-the-mill burger. The convenience of fast food with a sit down restaurant quality. The french fries were nothing to write home about, the type you need to slather in ketchup to enjoy. The interior of the restaurant is very diner-esque with a futuristic spin to it. The neon lighted menu signs boast not only hamburgers, but various other sandwiches and clubs, dinner plates, soups, salads, seafoods, sides, and desserts. Parking is plentiful in the area whether it be on the road or in the free lot adjacent to the building. Open until 2 am Thursday — Saturday! Apparently my cultural ancestors knew how to serve up a mean hamburger. Stanley, the Polish immigrant who’s dream it was to make a flavorful, affordable burger back during the Great Depression set a standard that has been upheld in the years since its creation. While I’m sure the prices have jumped since then($ 16 for the two burgers and side of fries) it seems that the quality has remained.

This place is most certainly a burger joint. Along the lines of Johnny Rockets, only less expensive and without all the annoying singing and corporate trappings. Not too greasy and not too thick. These are the first-blush characteristics of a Stanley’s burger. When you couple that with the included mound of pickles and fried onions, the pattie itself can get lost in the shuffle. The burgers are quite tasty, served on an un-toasted white bun which gets a bit messy about halfway through. I’d definitely recommend getting a double, as the patties are pressed cardboard-thin and can get lost under all the toppings. Everything is a-la-carte, so if all you’re looking for is a burger and soda, you don’t have to feel guilty about eating an included plate of fries too. If you’re feeling brave and not counting calories, be sure to get a milkshake as well(the coffee one is delicious.) They’re blended smooth and aren’t so thick you need a spoon. The only problem is you don’t get the metal blending cup to finish off the remainder. Service is quick and friendly, and parking in the lot nextdoor is free. They’re open until 2 on weekends, and definitely make for great booze-sopping food. Fries come with all manner of toppings, including mozzarella, bacon, cheese whiz, gravy or any combination of those. A milkshake and burger are how poor decisions are assuaged.

Stanley’s! You have fulfilled my 90210 dreams. I didn’t know downtown Providence had a place where, when sitting with your friends after a night at Nick-A-Née’s, someone walking in would say, «what is this, the Peach Pit?» I wasn’t hungry enough to try a burger but the fries were great(the spicy ones) and so was the rootbeer float. Thanks, Stanley’s, for letting me feel like a cool high school kid in 1956. Or 1991. Whatever. A welcome addition to the downtown Providence scene.

Never again. We went in on a Sunday afternoon… three of us. There were about 5 other tables, two servers & one manager looking guy. It took at least 10 minutes for someone to even acknowledge us at our table, the drinks were slowwww, we were never asked if we wanted refills and couldn’t get our server to ask her. The food took a long time & it wasn’t even remotely good… not even for greasy burger food. Can’t decide what was worse – absent service or disgusting food?

I like the concept, I liked the burgers, they’re old school size, when people weren’t so greedy for a half a pound of greasy burger. I especially reccomend the dirty fries, the mystery is what they use to make that way, I nearly have the ingredients. Its just enough for lunch, a bit pricey but a full menu, diner style is all good.

This place reminds me of a cleaner, smaller version of Steak ‘n Shake(Midwestern natives know what I’m talking about). They have typical diner food, but they do offer a veggie burger. I ordered that made like a Stanley burger and it was greasy deliciousness. I would skip the fries next time… but if you choose to get them, one side would easily be enough for 2 people. Don’t let the four stars fool you though… this place is a greasy mess, but it’s a delicious greasy mess!

You can only eat here if you are wasted. I went once when I was sober and it was awful. Open until 2 am, right across from Ricks roadhouse, service is great, and the people watching is fun. The burgers are yummy and so are the ranch fries and the chili cheese fries. You can get a drink, burger and fries for like 3.99. Totally better than haven bros!

At Stanley’s you can get a cheap burger with fries for a cheap price. I like the Pepper Cheese Burger and Quebec Fries, a poutine knockoff. The restaurant is spotless, the burgers are small, but sometimes you just want a greasy diner burger, and Stanley’s is best the place to get that in Providence. I’ve had all kinds of service here, but the last time I went the service was pleasant and quick.

This place has some of the best burgers i have ever had. they are full of flavor but i feel like they are slightly over priced and you need a double in order to have a decent amount of meat. the fries are delicious and a side order is more than enough and a good price.

People eat here for the same reason why people still eat at White Castle even though it gives you diarrhea in an hour or less. Greasy, guilty food that tastes good when you’re really hungry. So I tried out Stanley’s today in Providence and I have a mixed review. The burger I got was a bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions, no pickle. It was surprisingly good. It wasn’t a big beefy pub burger by any means, somewhere along the lines of Burger King in thickness. I think what made it good though was those caramelized onions. If you like caramelized onions, you’ll like this burger. If you don’t, I imagine the burger is pretty lackluster. The service though, god awful. Besides my own experience, there were people inside rolling their eyes and overall just displaying key traits of impatience. I got take out, but I could tell from the overall vibe that the eat-in service wasn’t so great. For my take out, I ordered 20 minutes in advance. Once I got there I was made to wait another 10 minutes while watching what I knew to me my order sitting on the counter. Someone had heard my name wrong on the phone, so it took a few prompts and someone to look a the actual receipt before finally handing it over with a «sorry about that». The bag had been sitting so long in grease that the moment I walked out the door, the paper bag holding my french fries broke in half and spilled all over the sidewalk. I «whatever“‘d it away and salvaged what was left from the bag of fries and ate my burger in the car. Despite my food sitting there for 15 minutes or more, my fries(or what was left) were not too soggy and not bad at all. My burger was also, like I said. pretty good. Despite all that, it’s rare to find a good greasy caramelized onion burger around here, so if you like them, try this place out. If you don’t, I wouldn’t bother.
