We bought our house over the summer and didn’t think about oil until the heat and hot water stopped working, over the coldest weekend in October. We have a tankless hot water system, so we’ve been using oil all along. It wasn’t easy finding recommendations online, but I saw the one for People’s Power here and checked out the website. It sounded great to me, but I was concerned about getting oil within hours of signing up, especially on the first sub-​freezing Monday.
I signed up online around 9am, got a confirmation and provider info in email by noon. Called the oil company, and the oil guy was here by 1pm. He filled us up and checked the system, and it’s heating up now. Everyone I talked to was very helpful. So far, I am very happy.

I signed up with People’s Power & Light’s heating oil program in 2010, and have been very happy. Last year they helped me get an energy efficiency audit, and I ended up putting in a bunch of insulation and a brand new boiler. Very friendly, helpful staff that walked me through the whole process.
