Love this place. The food is really great. Eggplant is always one of my test dishes for a restaurant and theirs is tremendous. I highly recommend it. The other night friends of mine had the duck with fig ravioli and raved about it. Half price on the wine list on Monday nights — incredible! As good as the apps and main course are… we found the deserts to be so so. All in all a really great place.

My sister-in-law was visiting from Texas this weekend and I wanted to find a new restaurant in Providence to Wow her. Wow is exactly what we got. From the minute we were seated at our table, our waiter Kevin, greeted us with a smile. He, and everyone who came to our table was very friendly and it was very clear that good service is critical at this restaurant. The best part of the experience? The food was spectacular. I will be a regular here going forward. Thank young to the entire team at Pane E Vino. You have a new fan.

Ok i went here with 4 of my friends to celebrate a birthday. 1st our waiter Sam was awesome, he was polite and informed and gave us suggestions and his table partner Sindel(sorry for spelling) was so polite. There was a hiccup for one of our dinners and Sam apologized and wisked it away. Cristiano the manager came over and apologized with sincerity. They replaced the meal which was also off and apologized again. Two of us had the Spaghettini al gamberi scuie which was wonderful. I had the special of halibut which need a smidge more seasoning on the fish but the sauce was amazing. I used the bread to sop up the rest of the sauce. They gave us a round of grappa on the house to apologize for the hiccup. They brought out the cake we had brought in for the birthday girl, took the cake back, sliced and served us. This was a wonderful experience and we will be back.

Visited Pane e Vino last week while in Providence touring colleges for our son. This place was recommended by a foodie friend and she was spot on. For apps we split the calamari and the Burrata cheese and tomato. For dinner my son and I had the Zuppa de Pesce outstanding. My wife had the pasta w/broccoli rabe and sausage she loved it. We had two deserts tiramisu and the bread pudding. WOW! Ask for Annie the server she is great.

The service is excellent. Great meatballs and sauce. I wine there for a dinner party of 8 people and everyone raves about their dish. If you are hungry, the lobster ravioli is a small portion., but great taste.

Warm and fuzzy thoughts of my first time having burrata here. I’ll never see mozzarella the same way again. Great staff, great food, and great atmosphere. A choice you won’t regret.

This is the best Italian food on Federal Hill and the North End. The lamb lollipop appetizer was only second to the pasta and sausage appetizer. The duck is the best duck I’ve ever eaten anywhere. Im a bread pudding snob, I could not believe how unique this bread pudding is and how I could not stop eating it after all the other great food. The service is like something I use to get at Hemenways before Annie left. My favorite place in RI. It will be yours too!

I can’t believe that I never reviewed this place. On my last visit to Providence, we had dinner here, and it was one of those meals we still talk about, months later. It was beyond exceptional. The gnocchi was truly the best either of us ever tried. Best yet, the night we were there(Monday) was half price wine night. I could see myself becoming a regular at this place if I moved to Providence. I may have actually considered this place when booking my lodging for the next trip to Providence. I am most definitely looking forward to returning!

I had an excellent experience at Pane e Vino. I was with a party of 4 and when we arrived we were immediately seated(we did have to make reservations though). Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. What I really appreciated was that she went out of her way to make sure I had gluten/nut free rolls at the table when she found out that I had a severe nut allergy as well as make sure I had a fresh dessert. Let me tell you, I can NEVER have desserts at restaurants because they all cop out and say, «welll there are nuts in the kitchen so I can’t promise anythinggg…» so this was very refreshing. I understand that there were nuts used on Pane e Vino’s menu but that didn’t prohibit them from taking the proper precautions to make sure us allergen people could have a good time too

We had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant before our show at the PPAC. The dishes sounded extraordinary at menu view and they did not disappoint. My best friend was delighted with the lobster ravioli; in particular that the ravioli actually contained chunks of lobster and was not puréed. It was the exact perfect temperature and flavor; she said. As was mine(succulent gnocchi baked in clay with four cheeses, including decadent smoked mozzarella). The wait staff was attentive and enthusiastic as well as knowledgable(thank you shout out to our server Lindsay!). The food arrived in what felt like no time whatsoever and, in all honesty, it was some of the best and most flavorful Italian I’ve ever had. The owner himself(I think? The gentleman in the Mr. Rogers-Esque sweater) wandered around checking on people as well, and I find that a rare and important factor in restaurants these days. #oldtimervoice In all seriousness I recommend this place wholeheartedly and with utmost zeal.

I can’t comment on the food because they didn’t let us in. We made a reservation on open table a month in advance, and they called on the day of to confirm. We were stuck in traffic and got a call from the restaurant, and when we told them we were 1 block away, they responded ‘really?’. We were 8 minutes late to our reservation and they did not hold our table. The girl at the front desk had a terrible attitude and did not apologize or offer an alternative. We had to leave to find another restaurant when it’s freezing outside. I’m not going back again given my experience there.

Service: service was very good. No issues Price: its pricey for what you actually get. Swordfish, pasta dish, 1 glass red house cabernet, 1 appetizer came out to $ 128 without tip. $ 70 each was not worth it to me personally for the food, ambience, and service. Food: the food was good. My swordfish was cooked perfectly and my wifes pasta was very good. The appetizer was a little small. Overall: this is a 1 and done for me. Its not that it wasnt good its just it wasnt good for the price we paid. I can think of other establishments in rhode island who offer the same quality in service and food that dont have this price tag. Ill leave this place for the tourists.

My boyfriend and I didn’t have any plans for New Year’s Eve, so I was a bit shocked when we able to get a reservation just a few days before the big day and it wasn’t at 10pm! The waitress was attentive and had a perky, upbeat personality. I chose the spinach salad and he got the beet salad. Both were fresh and tasty. I especially loved the dressing on my salad. Since rack of Colorado lamb was on the menu, I had to get it. It was cooked perfectly, but I wish they had been a bit more generous and given me more than just 4 pieces. I am a true carnivore and 6 pieces would have been more satisfying, They gave me an ungodly amount of mashed sweet potatoes. It was flavorful, but not a standout. My boyfriend chose the mixed seafood pasta with lobster. It was in a light tomato sauce and it had a very generous amount of shellfish, shrimp, scallops and lobster. He was happy. We were stuffed, so we skipped dessert. The house coffee was lukewarm and very disappointing, We purchased a giftcard, which came with a free $ 20 bonus giftcard. We will be back to use this.

Excellent! Great service seems to be a thing of the past in so many restaurants. Not here! From the host to the bus staff… they all treated us as of we were VIPS! Definitely get the Lobster Ravioli then dip the delicious bread in the leftover sauce. With so many choices in Federal Hill, this is a must go!

So my one friend is a huge fan of this place and we decided to go for restaurant week! I had been here before and got the lobster ravioli which was around 28 dollars and the portion was so small. Basically I was not really interested in going here but I am so happy I did! The rest of the table decided not to order off of the restaurant week menu but I already had my meal planned out! I got the Neapolitan Rice Balls which were so delicious. They came with two different aiolis and were stuffed with crab and corn! My next course was the slow braised short rib with polenta. I thought this was another hit out of the park. The short ribs were braised to perfection, literally falling off the bone. The only complaint with that course was the ratio of short ribs to polenta was off. I felt like there should of been more short rib than polenta. My last course was the Nutella Mousse Torte. It was like a nutella mousse with a peanut butter filling and a delicious crust on the bottom. I loved my meal. The rest of the table shared the mussel appetizer, they gave me one and it was also delicious. The mussel was cooked perfectly and it had a spicy marinara sauce that worked perfectly with it. My one friend got the gnocchi with 4 cheese baked in the clay and that was also very good. It was slathered in cheese but worth every calorie! My other friends got the anti-pasta platter which she really enjoyed and the other one got the a stuffed veal with asparagus and potatoes. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the mood for a fancy night out and craving some Italian. This place has a bunch of different dishes to offer.

We went for restaurant week. $ 34.95 for a 3 course meal. The beef carpaccio was my first course, the meat didn’t have much flavor and was dominated by the cheese. My wife got a salad and she liked it. For our main course I got the pork chop and she got the braised short ribs. Both were very good. I thought her portion was small but the pork portion was perfect and very well prepared. For desert we had a Nutella mousse and terrimasu(sp). Both were very good. We had a bottle of Nebbiolo which was very nice. Great evening out. Service was excellent. The valet not so much. It seemed there was only one guy there and cars were blocking traffic three deep. At least the guy there was busting his butt. In all a great night for $ 110.

First let me say the service from our waitress was AMAZING! Secondly, I have a major issue with both their manager that was on this evening and the valet. My dear mother, who is slightly handicapped do to arthritic hips and knees, was treating my fiancé and I to dinner for my birthday. Everything was great until when we decided to leave. My mother’s hips and knees cause her great pain when standing for any great duration. As we were going out the«back door» I saw the valet run to grab another person’s car, he mentioned he had us all set up, but while moving the other patron’s car I mentioned that I would move my mother’s vehicle so she could get in and relax her joints. He said«no I’ll be right there» and proceeded to take his time. After a good ten minutes of waiting I noticed her car was already running and I brought the car to her. He noticed and said nothing as to where my fiancé and my car was until I asked him. Now, I’m a reasonable person and it was snowing. I understand things happen, but when I mentioned to him that he should take care of the handicapped woman before someone else he was EXTREMELY argumentative and RUDE! Never, never ever valet at this restaurant as the valet company/management staff are 100% incompetent! The service and food was quite amazing though.

Pane e Vino is my favorite restaurant on Federal Hill! Delicious food, classy atmosphere, and great wine selection! The ambiance is great; the seats are comfortable and decorations are pretty and remind me of Italy. The servers are dressed nicely and very attentive. They are accommodating of food allergies, and there’s an extensive gluten-free menu you can ask for upon being seated(though the kitchen is happy to work with you for pretty much anything on the regular menu, too). All dishes I’ve had here are delicious. I especially like the Orecchiette and Funghi. The pasta is nice and firm, sauces are flavorful, potatoes crispy, and veggies fresh. Portions are filling, but nothing is heavy. The wine list is extensive, and servers are happy to recommend wine for any palate. I like the selection of Pinot Grigio’s. I’ve ordered everything gluten-free, and been impressed — though my friends and family members who eat gluten also love this place! There’s gluten free rolls that you can order in place of the regular bread while you’re waiting for the meal — it’s fantastic! Some of the best I’ve had. I’d strongly recommend this place if you’re looking for good, flavorful Italian food! Just make sure to make a reservation on weekend nights, or call to see if there’s room for walk ins.

Five years ago I visited Pane e Vino for the first time. I gave them 2 stars because of my disappointment in seasoning my meal, and my too dry orecchiette. I have visited Pane e Vino countless times since then and enjoyed all of my subsequent meals. I realize that was a one time deal, but I’m writing another review because I wanted to share that I finally tried the orecchiette again, with hopes that it would be better than the first time I tried it. It was absolutely outstanding! It was very brothy/saucy, and there was TONS of flavor. I have no idea what happened on that previous visit that caused the food to be so off, but I’m so thrilled that whatever that issue was has long since been resolved. I also enjoyed the meatballs as an appetizer(they were actually quite firm – not super tender as I had expected) but they had great flavor, and the sauce itself is sooooo richly tomatoey. Really loved the sauce, and the creamy ricotta. It’s a good choice. I also loved both cocktails I tried – the pineapple mojito and the pear cocktail. Both are quite different from one another, but excellent all the same. The service is great. I enjoyed most recently sitting at the bar and chatting with the bartender, Elizabeth. She is fantastic. Warm, welcoming, and always making sure that the other bar patrons and I were well taken care of. If you haven’t visited Pane e Vino recently(or at all), it’s time to fix that :) Oh, and don’t forget to sign up for their rewards card! You get points on each visit that accumulate towards free money to spend at Pane e Vino, and you’ll also get $ 20 on there each year for your birthday. That will basically be enough to pay for your entrée(depending on what you order). Can’t beat that!

Maybe they were angry to be working on the 4th of July, but it was pretty disappointing. Our server was very nice. One of the senior staff grabbed another server by the elbow and yelled at him. People were also smoking outside and it drifted into the restaurant. The zucchini blossoms were nice and flaky and I was told that they were filled with mozzarella but they were filled with something that had the gritty and very runny texture of a ricotta The calamari, which is supposed to be their dish, came out very quickly making me think it was not cooked to order. It also was kind of cold, the breading was soggy, and the calamari was chewy. The bread from the basket was cold and tasted like little Cesar crazy bread. The scallops were over salted and way overcooked with the browning penetrating into the scallop a third of the way. It was accompanied with a dry and tasteless risotto that tasted like uncle ben’s with sweet corn thrown in. Not a creamy Italian risotto The spaghetti Vongole was extremely salty Andino’s is way better

YUM! I went here today for my brother’s 21st birthday dinner(and I traveled ALLTHEWAY from Long Island for it– so thank god this meal was delicious) The place is absolutely adorable! It had these windows that open up to the street that have flower boxes, such a european feel! They also have outdoor seating, which would be gorgeous in the summertime, but today was a little too chilly for that. We sat indoors at a table adjacent to the windows, the fresh air was great, but it definitely got chillier as the dinner progressed(but don’t worry, they know to close up the windows!) I was absolutely STARVING, so I went for the price-fixed menu($ 23) because I knew I was hungry enough to eat an appetizer, dinner, and dessert. I ordered the Roasted Zucchini as my appetizer, and it was very good! It was stuffed with sausage, tomatoes, and fontina cheese. It comes backed in sauce and it was a little to saucy for me(but let’s be real I licked that plate clean anyway). For my entrée, I had the Rigatoni which came with a meatball and sausage and was also very delicious! As much as I enjoyed my dinner, I envied my dad who had ordered the Slow Braised Lamb Shank off of the regular menu. It looked UNREAL and came with ricotta stuffed ravioli and spinach. He said it was amazing and it must have been because I didn’t get a bite… But anyway, for dessert I had a slice of the Homemade Tiramisu and it was so fresh and light! Delicious dinner! All five of us were very pleased! Also: KUDOS to the wait staff for being able to skillfully pour the Primitivo(which was delicious) from resounding heights. Seriously, they poured each glass of wine from three feet above the glass and never spilled a drop. Not sure if they were trying to be impressive, but I was definitely impressed and remained wine-stain free!
