This is not lens crafters: Expensive. Some great designs. Slow to fulfill order. Customer service ranges from professional to unapologetic /pretentious.

So many pairs to choose from I was forced to buy multiple. If I must wear glasses they must be great. Opt has a great funky, chic selection that you will not find elsewhere. I could not decide between 2 styles so I got both then figured I needed sunglasses also, such fun! They are a wee bit more expensive than the chains but it is worth it to support local small business, get great service and not look like everyone else. I have gotten so many compliments and total strangers stopping to give positive affirmations. Recommend for sure!

I stopped into Opt on this sunny afternoon with my Prada sunglasses.(Truth be told they were a terrific find from a shopping excursion at TJ’s!) I threw them in the bottom of my purse and they emerged missing both of the plastic nose pieces, leaving them unwearable. The gentleman at Opt took a quick look and was happy to help with the simple repair and about five minutes later I was out the door with my like new glasses. He refused payment and said a to go enjoy the sunshine. I’m most impressed with the impeccable customer service. And they had a nice selection of frames which I browsed during my short wait.

Our family spends a lot of time outdoors, especially on our boat in the summer, and i wanted to get my husband an amazing pair of sunglasses for our anniversary. I didn’t know much about them, but had been referred to OPT. The staff was informative, fun, and incredibly patient, helping me try on numerous pairs of glasses and flipping through page after page of catalogs. I even went outside with a few pair after narrowing down the selection, and was amazed by the quality of the lenses. The glare was gone, but the sky was still bright, and the clouds looked incredible. In the end, I selected the perfect pair. My husband LOVES the glasses, although I have been tempted to «borrow» them on a few occasions. I will definitely be going back to get a pair for myself!

I usually wear my glasses instead of contacts to work so I need a good, solid, fashionable pair. The selection at Opt Eyewear was just what I needed. Yes, they are pricey. However, if you think about something that is going to be on your face that people will notice first(because hopefully they look at your eyes most as you talk) then you should make sure they look good. The salespeople are knowledgeable, pleasant and helpful. I do agree that the phone service should be a bit better– I called at the exact 14 day timeframe I was quoted and found out that they were arriving that day by mail. The sales team is very sharp, though, taking down all of your info on Ipads and e-mailing you your receipt. They have a lot of good glass options for decreasing the thickness, refraction, glare, etc. that I hadn’t come across in most stores. I would strongly recommend them as a good place to check out for a solid, sexy pair of glasses.

In short, Opt is the bee’s knees. They took care of me from start-to-finish, and made the entire process of getting my new glasses a joy. Both Jed and Christine helped me select new frames and the three of us had fun doing it. I must have tried on every pair in the shop, but they were patient and full of recommendations. When it came down to two pair, they were honest and extremely helpful. I now have my most favorite pair of glasses I’ve ever had, and I’ve been wearing specs since I was 10. There was a bit of a snafu with the first set of lenses, as my optometrist had under-prescribed and forgot to add a note about my ‘abnormal’ line of sight, for which the optician must accommodate. I brought my glasses and new prescription back to Opt and to Christine the optician, and within a week I had them back, and they’re perfect. In fact, I haven’t taken them off since I got them, and for a woman who has been lectured about over-wearing my contacts, that’s saying something. I highly recommend this boutique for those in search of super-cool specs and excellent customer care. You won’t be disappointed!

OPT have a great selection of styles, many of them designer glasses. On the pricey side, but for an item I’m going to wear for many years, I don’t find it overpriced. I love the look of the store, too. There is no fitting service in house, so customers need to bring their own prescription. The service during my first visit in the store was pretty good, I was shown lots of different frames and got lots of attention. I went to see a doctor and came back about a month later to order the frame I had chosen the last time(actually frameless, for which there are numerous colors and lens shapes). The service unfortunately didn’t hold up quite so well through the process of ordering my glasses. On my second visit I found a lens shape I liked but wanted to see the shapes that are available but were not on display before ordering. I was told twice that there were many other shapes, but never actually shown the selection. Then the owner was called away to the phone, and after waiting a while I ended up just taking the shape that was on display. Face-to-face service was impeccable during the ordering process and when I came back later to pick up the glasses. However, I had been told it would take x days(I think it was 10) for the order but usually went a lot faster. I gave my phone no. to be called when the frame arrived. After 10 days I checked the receipt, and it actually said 10 _business_days, which makes it quite a bit longer. After those were over I waited another week before calling the store. I was told the glasses had actually been damaged in production and had to be redone, but they would arrive«today or tomorrow». I finally got a call back yet another day later. The optician apologized about the wait etc., and it was overall not a bad experience, plus I LOVE the glasses — but I feel for an item at this price level I can expect a little more attention to detail and more up-to-date info on the order status, especially given that I had to pay the full price in advance and that the store clearly was informed about the delay. I would probably go back because the glasses are so great, but the service has room to improve.
