Great spot for coffee, wine, and cocktails! Unique cocktail list– I had an earl gray tea & lavender& gin & steamed milk drink that was perfect for a late afternoon rendezvous with a friend. Also– lots of outlets, free wifi, and a decent amount of seating.

Cool café located in The Arcade(oldest shopping mall in the country). The barista was fast and friendly. I Had an iced latte, the coffee was different then others I’ve tired, really smooth and light, tasted great! They also carry different baked good, I had a ham and cheese empanada which was basically the high end version of a hot pocket(compliment), it was delicious. I definitely want to stop by for drinks some time, given they are also a bar. Awesome place!

Cute place in the middle of The Arcade. Yes, they have wifi. There is also a very cute bar section that has what looks like two beers on draft as well as lots of bourbon, whiskey, ryes. Tried the ham and cheese empanada(yum!) And a honey latte. One thing I was pleasantly surprised about was the coffee wasnt bitter at all. I like coffee as bitter as possible. But Its like I couldnt even taste the coffee through the honey… and I liked it. Service was nice. I will definitely be back.

Eh– if anything, go for the cocktails and ambiance. For everything else, it misses the mark– I’ve had everything from lattes, to chai’s, to hot chocolates here and it just isn’t that good. The chai, even when more strongly brewed, lacks spice/depth and the hot chocolate wasn’t rich, creamy, or even that chocolatey. I want to come here more but I’m not at the point where I’d get a bourbon latte in the morning or mid afternoon(not yet a stay-at-home dad)

Wow… this is a hidden gem! I was impressed by the quaintness of the entire place. I did not have any food but the plates that I saw came out amazing! I was also very surprised that they serve adult beverages I had a coffee mixture with several Liquors in it and it was one of the best things I’ve ever drank I I followed that with a Tito’s vodka on the rocks with lime the drinks were fantastic ! If you want a quiet getaway this is definitely the place to go I highly recommend it!

The best. Really, bar none. I’m here again, having a port. Because… Everyone should come here. For the service alone.

I still think that a coffee roaster that offers up coffee plus booze is a genius business decision. However lately, depending on the barista, my coffee only drinks have been passable to pretty awful. New Harvest is a local roaster and I prefer to support local businesses over chains, but I’ve had much better New Harvest coffee at the roastery in Pawtucket and some other bakeries in town that brew New Harvest beans. There seems to be less experienced baristas at this outpost the past few times I’ve been in. The bar is what keeps me coming back. Lots of good whiskey here, and one of the few places in town that have an extensive selection. I’ll give this coffee shop more chances bc of the bar menu and the fact that they recently started offering a frequent visitor coffee drink card. I’m crossing my fingers the barista skills get better sooner than later. 3.5 stars.

Great coffee and spirits. It’s great to stop by here after you eat at rogue island. We are here for Valentine’s Day and they have work great specials.

I love this coffee shop in the arcade. I’m so glad that I have another location to purchase New Harvest coffee, but also yummy Seven Stars treats! They also sometimes have pretzels from that guy in the Hope Artist Village in Pawtucket. The folks working there are usually very knowledgeable and can help answer questions — they aren’t always the warmest or friendliest. I get that whole«I’m too cool» hipster vibe, which can sometimes be a bit annoying. Otherwise, I love the place!

What a neat little place! I came here on a Saturday afternoon to get some work in. There are a handful of small tables inside. I got a really good ice tea and took a seat. One of the reasons I like to do work here is because they play music but it isn’t too loud. Also if I got bored doing work I could just go walk around and browse the shops in the Arcade. Although I didn’t try a drink(because I was trying to do work after all) I’ll definitely be trying one the next time I go. It looks like the staff really know what they’re doing.

A fascinating coffee joint with the added twist of having a full bar. Nestled amongst boutiques and eateries in the renovated Providence«Arcade,» otherwise known as «America’s oldest mall,» at New Harvest, you can get an artisan espresso beverage, a cocktail(even a hot toddy!), or your choice of coffee/booze blend like a «bourbon latte» or their house Irish coffee. I adore the rustic interior with the exposed brick, it feels a bit like a speakeasy(with fancy espresso). Eclectic tunes stream through the venue, everything from bluegrass to contemporary acoustic to old school punk. Returned a few times for their drip coffee, latte, and later, a shot of the Laphroaig Cask(rare to find this variety in a bar, much less coffeehouse), which was a generous pour for about $ 14. Quiet enough for business meetings or working remote from the office, but lively enough to be enjoyable with a modest gathering of people. A great place to be all hours of the day.

New Harvest Coffee & Spirits is competitive in this tough market. #YouGo ********** Got my drank on: 1. Iced latte with honey + Subtle sweetness, strong roast. «Coffee doesn’t ask silly questions. Coffee understands.» Who would think to put a bar and a coffee shop together? A genius. Clearly. It was 10:30 on a Monday and I was way overdue for my morning coffee. I usually take it bold and black, like my soul. But this Monday called for a special type of coffee. It called for adventure. A latte. A bourbon latte. Two of my favorite things combined. Daniel whipped up the tastiest beverage that helped chase away the cold from outside. They call it the Stay-at-Home Dad. And the moment I took that first sip, my life was changed. Sipping on my nectar from the gods, my friend Katie and I enjoyed pleasant conversation with Daniel and Cassie.(They’re way into cats so that’s a thing.) A pleasant visit all around! So if you’re not into boring mundane Mondays, or any other days, adventure on in.

So, I went into this with a little bit of a defense on. One, while i was gushing how interested I was in the place at the Merry Marketplace, whom I was talking to did not seem too enthused about it or about the shop. Ok, I get it, maybe you’d be making more moolah inside bar tending, or if the event wasn’t going on, but it was early. Then my roomie heard my enthusiasm and desire to mix my two liquid loves(coffee and bourbon) and went to get me some of their neat wooden nickels as a gift and seemed to have a less than awesome interaction while it was only operating as a coffee shop at that point in the day. So I have one other friend who loves coffee, late night adventures, and beers/whiskey as much as me. So as the weather was making my apartment unbearable the other evening I strolled down to New Harvest for a best friend date. Myself and another young lady found ourselves a bit perplexed how to get in at 930 at night. I mentioned they had a speakeasy door, I just didn’t want to walk down the Alley alone, so off we went. Once we weaved through the dumpsters and got to a really well cleared path we knew we weren’t in to meet our timely demise, only to meet delicious drinks. While there was a good crowd, there were a few bar seats ready and available which turned out to be a blessing as later on, the discussion turned to the bartender’s suggestions on where to head for a more varied beer selection after our coffee drinks. I had the bourbon latte, formally known as «The Stay at Home Dad» I mean, if I had to spend my days with children, I too would probably be dumping nips into my Starbucks I picked up at Target. My friend, opted for a toned down Irish coffee after explaining he felt it had a little too much going on as their standard called for. We were both immensely pleased with out drinks. My latte was so smooth throughout every sip I thought«no wonder people actually instagram their lovely coffees, this is how they are meant to be, not how I get them from places on the run!» The bourbon didn’t over power, nor was overpowered either. We switched to beers after, an offering from Stone for my friend, and the XPA on draft for me. It was getting pretty darn close to the witching hour for New Harvest so my friend and I started hashing out where to go next, without having to have him move his massive, massive truck. I don’t know what app my friend uses(because he was totally a foursquare person, and won’t join the Unilocal crowd) the bartender over heard my friend naming bars and reading the apps comments and chimed in as I was declining bars left and right– I even managed to get a chuckle out of the bartender when I said we couldn’t go to Hanley’s or whatever the«new» McFadden’s is because we were over the age of 25. And the same bartender laughed when my friend paid as I visited the ladies room and I came back to show him I had a handful of tokens to use. So, I’ll be back, even if I didn’t still have the tokens.

Great idea featuring two of my favorite beverages: coffee and bourbon. I have partaken of both at New Harvest, and enthusiastically endorse this shop! The selection of whiskey, bourbon and rye is vast and the bartenders are happy to make suggestions. New Harvest excels at iced coffee, hot coffee, and old fashioneds. It’s a win.

Oh, you delightful little treasure buried in the arcade. New Harvest is hands-down one of my favorite Providence spots. And it’s not just because they serve my two favorite things: coffee AND booze. It’s more than that. I like that, although it doesn’t seem like a lot of seating at first glance, I’ve never had a problem finding a seat and, this is a weird detail to notice but, the seating options are varied. You have actual chairs, bar height chairs, and bench seats. I’m serious this makes a difference. If I’m enjoying a coffee or cocktail, I don’t mind the bar seats but if I’m hunkering down to do some writing, I’m a bench seat all the way. It’s nice that there’s a choice. With that said, I can’t imagine this place when it’s slammed because it must be slightly claustrophobic. It’s kind of small, however, I do think they’ve optimized the space they have to accommodate as much as they can. Their coffee is pretty delicious and a lot of spots in Providence serve it so you’ve probably tasted it before and didn’t even realize it. I believe the refills are super cheap(like a dollar or something) if you’re sticking around. I was skeptical of the cocktails at first but they’re truly something — and the more I think about it, the more it makes sense — both barista-ing and bar-tending require a certain attention to detail, quickness, and creativity. They have it in abundance here. My only gripe, which is a silly gripe really, is that the only options to munch on are pastries. Mind you, these are delicious, high quality pastries from Seven Stars(omg have you LIVED until you’ve had their chocolate croissant? No. The answer is No.) but sometimes ya just don’t want that. Anyway, that’s a really silly gripe to have — they’re not New Harvest Coffee & Snacks, they’re New Harvest Coffee & Cocktails so eat before, and cozy up to whichever of the two you prefer.

Mind you – I haven’t had a sit in drink here – just going off of my interaction below: Me, being the roommate that I am, overheard my roommate discuss how she wanted to check this place out during the Merry Marketplace event… so I diligently went in and got a gift card… wait no, they’re tokens, as the very rude barista blurted out when I inquired about how to get a gift card. It’s a pretty cute concept, 5 $ ‘tokens’ to go towards a brew or a cocktail, so I’ll add a star for that. The sad thing is, the baristas were incredibly snooty, with no smile or thank you or anything of the sort as I ordered an OJ to go with my roommate’s present. They also didn’t seem pleased with my tip… which… y’know… let’s not even go there. If their service is like that ALL the time, I won’t be back. I am always willing to give a local business a second try, but I really hope that the second time around it’s a little better.

Had a great time at the Bourbon tasting. Tried six different bourbons: Old Forester 86 proof, Old Forester Signature 100 proof, Old Forester 1870, Woodford Reserve, Woodford Reserve Double Oak and Woodford Reserve Master Collection. My favorite was Old Forester 1870 which is not yet available in New England. Guess I’m going to need to wait. Can’t wait until the next Bourbon tasting which is Feb 3rd2015.

can we say some of the best drinks for morning and night! i enough there black tea in the am, its loose leaf tea, very flavorful. but the best part is the night time, when the whiskey comes alive! Probably the BEST whiskey sour I have ever drank. Ben(the mixologist of all mixologists) makes a special whiskey sour with habanero bitters, lets just say, its everything you could want in a drink, sweet, sour and spicy! the atmosphere is great, it is great for studying, getting some work done, or just enjoing a drink with friends, gotta try it out if your walking through or near the Arcade in Providence!

Obviously New Harvest is as good as it gets! Fantastic coffee: check. Dreamy coffee cocktails: yes, indeed. A well designed space to enjoy them in: you betcha. I really love this place and would recommend it to anyone, whether in need of a strong cup of coffee to get them going or a strong cocktail to get them going. Either way, you can’t go wrong and the staff is pleasant as can be.
