I love their chicken pot pies, chicken salad sandwiches, fresh bread and Nieman Marcus cookies. Coffee is okay. Convenient location. Quick, friendly service. Good vibe. Popular eatery for college kids. Free parking available.

I’ve been coming here for years, I now live in Atlanta and this is my first stop every time I come home! The staff is super friendly, everything is fresh, pizza strips, cookies, cake and DOGCOOKIES! and their chocolate hazelnut ice coffee is the bomb!

The best! Their banana hazelnut iced coffee is the perfect way to start my mornings. They think of the little things, like dissolving the sugar in a little hot coffee before pouring in the iced coffee. The location on admiral has a very large parking lot which is helpful, the one on smith is a little tight so be prepared to park on the street. Not the biggest fan of their savory selections(calzones, soup, etc) but it’s a nonissue because their bakery items are unbelievably good.

Lasalle is a neighborhood staple. I was lucky enough to live between both the Admiral and Smith Street locations. I honestly couldnt pick a favorite if you asked me to… but I do feel that they have two slightly different vibes. Although, I do honestly prefer the coffee made on Admiral. The service is always quick, friendly and efficient. The ready made soups, salads and sandwiches are scrumptious and affordable. The veggie pizza slices and fruit tarts are pretty much an addiction. The new parking lot was a great/quintessential addition. There used to be a. m parking wars on the street between patrons and bus drivers(which was hilarous but albeit dangerous) I just recently moved back into the neighborhood so ill be stopping in for croissants pretty soon.

Nice place! We came for the Zeppole’s but stayed for the sandwiches. I had the Italian tuna(get it heated) and my wife had the Italian panini and both were excellent. They have a small lot across the street which can be a bit of a pain to get out of, so I’d recommend street parking instead.

Moved into the neighborhood recently and this place is within walking distance! Cakes, pastries, sandwiches, coffee… Everything looks awesome. I had bacon egg and cheese on a croissant and it was so goooood! And the vanilla almond iced coffee… Mmmm. Friendly staff, quick service, plenty of seating and parking. Can’t wait to become a regular here.

I only eat cake from two bakeries(I love cake, but it just isn’t good to have at every birthday party when you go to two a month!). Anyway — I always get excited when the cake is from LaSalle. This is where I order cakes for my loved ones on cake worthy occasions. I’ve had chocolate, lemon, vanilla — all are excellent. They do a nice job on decorations if you need them, but the taste and entire of the cake is the real star. I also love their almond horns.

This bakery is conveniently located near my best friend’s house. We like to come here after dinner, have dessert, and sit in the corner for a couple of hours chatting. Almost everything I’ve had here has been tasty and the service is friendly. They have your typical bakery fare from brownies to eclairs and they also have calzones and pizza strips. I only come here after 5 pm, so there are always plenty of seats available. I recommend the apple turnover or the pumpkin cheesecake.

I love LaSalle’s Bakery and have been coming here since I was a child, it’s a great place to go for a coffee and a croissant and read the paper, people watch or catch up with friends. I also highly recommend their breads and cakes. LaSalle’s has been a part of Providence for generations and remains the perfect place to spend a Sunday morning with the paper and a coffee…

Stopped in today for some sweets. I don’t often get to this tried and true gem even though I’m only a few miles away. The tough part is deciding among all the delicious and beautiful pastries and cookies. I left with no nut brownies and yellow cupcakes as well as a rainbow bundt cake. Grand total $ 18, worth every penny. Brownie was fabulous, I’ll have to let you know about the bundt cake tonight. It’s great that they have a private parking lot too!

I love LaSalle Bakery! I love everything from their coffee, pastry and even sandwiches. All the people that work there are friendly and always ready to answer any questions you may have. Be aware that both Bakeries have café areas and students enjoy lounging ther so it may not be very peaceful place after schools let out :-) My favorite pastries are the tiramisu and the cheesecake, very well done and not overly rich. I usually go with an iced coffee, and since I know a bunch of the baristas there, I usually let them mix up different coffee flavor combos for me.

Finally able to review this place! It has been book marked for over a year and I’ve just not had the time to check it out for myself. Well until today. The bakery itself is very refreshing inside and better looking than most bakeries. The cases were filled with so many delicious looking goodies, it was hard to pick. I asked one of the servers(who was super nice) and he suggested I get the red velvet cupcake-one of the more popular desserts. They are not wrong. First off this cupcake is huge, three times bigger than the average. The shining jewel here was the cream cheese frosting. Not too sweet but just right and it paired perfectly with the moist cake. Highly recommmend. I also purchased a sugar cookie with the colored sprinkles/sugar on it, which was also very pleasant! So in the end, I thought this was a amazing treat to have! Not only were the pastries so beautifully decorated, but were also so delicious!

Love LaSalle. I miss living down the street from it. Cute little place to grab a treat or breakfast. I really like their breakfast sandwiches. Love their pastries. Clean space with lots of little tables to sit at. It can get hectic sometimes but that just goes to show that people love this place.

I’m a regular at the one on Admiral Street and this one is just as great. All of their pastries are fabulous, bread is great, their chicken escarole soup is to die for, and their staff couldn’t be nicer.

How can you not love LaSalle? It’s the classic Italian bakery in the classic Italian neightborhood. Cannoli? They got ‘em. Zeppoli? Of course. In addition to carrying the quintessential Italian sweets, they’ve perfected modern confections and make scrumptious cupcakes, fruit tarts and chocolate eclairs that rank above the very best in Providence, if not Rhode Island. Another thing I love about LaSalle? They they go beyond just sweet baked goods and make fabulous lunch items, too. Panini, subs, calzone, pizza… They even make breakfast sandwiches on decent bagels for you to get your protein in the a.m. along with a cup of their excellent espresso(which can be frothed into a beautiful milky foam as either a cappuccino or café late). They serve great regular coffee, too and you can add a flavor shot, if you like that sort of thing. My favorite thing to do? Grab a classic Italian pastry and a hot latte, and stroll the square like you would do in Italy. You’ll swear you’re really there, if only for a brief moment.

Now that Unilocal creates a tally of all the places I check into on my homepage I realize that I have a bunch of 5 star places I have ventured to over the summer and have yet to write a review.(I’m busy alright?!) Some of my local favorites suggested I try this local favorite. Especially their local favorite. Situated in a place where you might not expect there to be a bakery but there is, LaSalle is probably the life of the block. You’ll see cars parking up on the street so that people can get their morning, afternoon and evening fill of pastries and beyond. Across the street is their assigned parking lot. Luckily most people get what they want and dash so there is constantly available parking. Walk inside and it’s already smelling of fresh bread. Kinda like walking into a French bakery in Paris, you know you’re up for some tasty goodness. Their display cases are situated in an L shaped pattern. Cakes to the left and pastries/sandwiches to the right. You have to try their Local Favorite sandwich. By lunchtime they are GONE it’s that good. Ask for everything on it and it really should be toasted. Their muffins are to die for. Almond croissants… well not quite as good as Paris(too flakey and crunchy… needs more butter). Eclairs are chunky and cream filled and fruit tarts are epic. Their dog bones are the cat’s pajamas and my pups love them. I don’t understand how the packaged bones cost more than the bones individually, however…

My previous review does not adequately convey how awesome LaSalle Bakery is. The service at LaSalle is unparalleled. The cashiers and people working at the counter are hardworking, friendly, and extremely competent. There are always enough people working in the bakery so, even if lines are long, they move quickly. I love the customer rewards card and 99 cent iced coffees on Wednesday(summer only) are a great deal. Some of my favorites: — Chicken pot pies. These are perfectly-sized for lunch or a light dinner and are fairly reasonable($ 4). Consistently good with a good mix of veggies and chicken. Perfect for when you are sick. –Calzones. Great lunches. Love the meatball calzone. Prices range but are reasonable. –Sandwiches. I don’t usually like premade sandwiches, but you can tell these sandwiches are fresh. They are a bit pricey($ 7), but they are a good size. I often eat half for lunch and then save the rest for the following day. –Brownies. Bad day? Get a brownie. Just do it. You’ll thank me later. –Red Velvet Cupcake. Best red velvet cupcake I’ve ever had. Enough said. –Chocolate cake. I brought a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting to my grandparents’ house and my entire family still talks about it! The frosting is not too sweet and very light. –Muffins. The muffins are consistently delicious and very reasonably priced($ 2). The yogurt pumpkin and morning glory muffins are my favorites. –Danishes. The raspberry danish is a bit on the sweet side, but I really like the cheese danish. –Egg sandwiches. The quality of these is not as consistent as other items, but the egg and cheese is a go-to. Some things I stay away from: Bagels. If you are looking for a New York bagel, LaSalle is not the place to get one. Their plain bagels lack flavor. Chocolate chip cookies. Their chocolate chip cookies are also very dry. Hot chocolate. I’m pretty sure it’s Swiss Miss with some whipped cream – definitely nothing special.

I was on a hunt for sugar cookies that took me to 3 bakeries and ended at LaSalle. Thank you LaSalle for remembering those who do not like chocolate. I’ve heard good things, but this was my first try at this local bakery. They definitely have the largest variety of any bakery in town. Lunch? They’ve got you covered. Breakfast? Covered. Dessert? Covered. If you can’t find it here, it likely cannot be found in a Providence bakery. I was overcome with choices and had to pick up more than sugar cookies. Everything I tried was delicious, packed with care, and fresh. I do think the cookies are a bit overpriced, but their custard pies are the cheapest in the neighborhood. The bakery itself has a good amount of seating, whether you are grabbing lunch with a friend or enjoying a coffee and reading the paper. It is clean, updated, and soon to be my go to bakery.
