Get their red velvet cupcakes! Best cupcake I have ever had in My 25 years of existence! Moist, beautifully decorated, HUMUNGOUS, and not overly sweet. Their red velvet cupcakes will keep you coming back!

Have never had anything here that wasn’t fantastic! They have everything from coffee & breakfast sandwiches to soups & pastries. My go to place for a pastry spread when I have out of town guests. An Italian gem NOT located on Federal Hill! lol! The key to a good bakery is consistency. Everything here is good all the time; if you liked it the first time, you will like it again. And if you’re a zeppole fan, be sure to try them here. Offered starting around St. Joseph’s Day through Easter, they’re definitely in the top 5 for taste. Moderately priced for a bakery, but worth it! Come, eat, & be merry. And keep in mind, if they’re out of something you want at this location, check the Smith Street location; comes from the same kitchen & might have it

It’s kind of a trek to Lasalle from my area so I’ve only tried their cake, but I’m willing to give them five stars based on just the cake because damn… it’s so good! The frosting is amazing! It’s the perfect texture, and it doesn’t taste like you’re eating straight up sugar and butter like at some places(although let’s be real, you ARE eating straight up sugar and butter…). Also, the decoration is really beautiful and professional. The cake itself is not dry at all and has a very fine crumb. They’ll put a layer of chocolate and a layer of vanilla if you ask, which is perfect for pleasing a crowd. The prices are also pretty reasonable; a huge cake that could serve 12 – 16 people generously was about $ 40. Sure, if you want a cake to knock everyone’s socks off at a super special event, you should probably go to Pastiche. Nevertheless, LaSalle will give you a perfect, classic cake every time!

Got an apple pecan pie from here a few weeks ago and it was pretty delicious! This place is also a lot more reasonably priced than other providence bakeries and has a huge selection. The line took at least 30 minutes, but it was worth the wait.

Casual, convenient, fast, but most importantly fresh and phenomenal! I had a chicken parm calzone, a coconut pastry, and a coffee. My gal had a veggie spinach calzone. All were terrific and servers were very pleasant and moved quickly. Reasonable prices. Near providence college and will be back!

These people are doing outstanding job! I don’t write excellent reviews often, but this bakery deserves 5 stars and even more. I ordered a custom made cake from them a few days ago and everything about this experience was very pleasant. The assistant listened to me carefully, was very helpful and knowledgeable, he double checked every detail about my order to make sure my cake would be 100% perfect. They did that — the cake was ready the time they told me, it was gorgeous and delicious. I highly recommend this place!

Most of the deserts are bland. I sampled the: — cannoli: I cannot emphasis enough how horrible shells like the one on this cannoli, that are ubiquitous in RI bakeries, remind me of cardboard. They should NOT be considered edible. As if the shell was not bad enough the filling was too sugary and barely carried any flavor of ricotta. — pumpkin yogurt muffin: despite being a yogurt muffin this muffin was very dry and the only flavorful part was the top which did not make up for the lower section. Also it did not, as its name implies, taste much like pumpkin. The flavor was more akin to Italian bread. — traditional chocolate brownie: again dry dry dry. Disappointingly not chocolatey or fudgy. — apple turnover: was mediocre. i would rather eat a frozen pillsbury apple turnover than this one. Bottom line: If you want good baked sweets in Providence, RI skip this place. I’ed recommend Seven Stars.

At the Rhode Island Convention Center for a conference and one of the native Rhode Island presenters said we had to try a pizza strip since that’s one of the three things Rhode Island is known for. I didn’t know that so I Unilocaled«pizza strip» and Lasalle was an option that appeared. Based on the reviews, proximity to the convention center and their hours, I decided to try it on my way home(after 7 pm on a Friday). A previous reviewer gave me the heads up that there were many options and the menu display might be confusing so I was prepared to look around before I ordered. Upon entering, I noticed sandwiches displayed in a clear case to the far left of the bakery so I headed in that direction. There were several sandwich/baguette options and about 6 «calzone» options which I interpreted to be the pizza strips? I asked for the eggplant calzone but was informed they were out so I decided on the spinach and pepperoni. The attendant then informed me that the press has already been turned off(since it was less than an hour before closing) so I asked if it could be heated in a microwave and he happily obliged. He went to the«back» for about 5 — 8 minutes and returned with my calzone wrapped and ready to hit the road. I was SO tempted by the baked goods but exercised self control and grabbed a bottle of water instead. The calzone was one of the BEST I’ve ever had. I’m sure it would have even been better on a press but even having been microwaved, the dough/bread was soft, the spinach was overflowing and the pepperoni had a kick(as noted by a previous reviewer) and the sauce was present but not overflowing/messy since I was eating it in the car. GREAT value(around $ 6), quality and friendly service. Wish they were closer to home. I’ll be back when in the area again!

It’s not Seven Stars, but that doesn’t mean it’s not just as good. We drove by this place on our way to Providence from North Providence. AT first, we thought we were settling for a generic coffee shop, but as soon as we walked through the door, we realized that we had just walked into a locally loved establishment… okay, so it’s a lie, I Unilocal everything before I go, but I was still pleasantly surprised. We tried the European tart and the panini of the day, with prosciutto, mozzarella and grilled vegetables. The tart was very sweet and certainly violated my dieting plans to prep for my bikini days, but worth it. The panini was surprisingly good, and I liked the sourness of the bread, but it was just a bit too small for the cost. I got a free coffee for checkign in, and got to try out the unique banana coffee, which I liked, and that’s rare, considering I like my coffee typically unflavored. Overall, this was an interesting little bakery shop with much more emphasis on sweets than regular baked bread. I’d come back to this place over Starbucks or DD any day(for baked goods, at least)

Announcing our new favorite bakery! Lasalle,( ) after hearing amazing reviews from everyone in and around Rhode Island we ventured out to try this hot spot. After walking in we became overwhelmed with all the possibilities … Breakfast items, Lunch items, Pastries, Desserts, Saucy Bread, Iced Coffee, Lattes, and the list goes on and on. We honestly stood in awe, trying to take it all in. Luckily there was a line giving us time to prepare our order. While the ordering process seemed unorganized and more complicated than it needed to be we ordered a variety of items to try out. The Pepperoni and Spinach Calzone paired with a hot banana hazelnut coffee. Not the typical combination. The Calzone had a strong spinach flavor paired with a spicy italian pepperoni. The banana hazelnut ice coffee is my new favorite ice coffee, if only La Salle was a little closer to my house. I typically would not order banana ice coffee, but after trying Tom’s hot coffee I had to try it in an iced version! It was delightfully light on the taste buds with a subtle banana after taste. It was love at first sip! Here is a glimpse at their gorgeous desserts, this is the Oreo Cheesecake. They have this available in a larger version for groups, this is their personalized version. You can taste the real butter flavor in everything I have tried here, the rich bold flavors are apparent in each item. Since this visit, we have been here multiple times. I cannot get over the Banana Hazelnut Iced Coffee, it is such a refreshing light coffee for summer. This is a wonderful bakery with plenty of seating if you chose to stay, not only inside but also in front of the bakery.

Oh !! LaSalle !!! You are soooooo goooood… I’m not a desset guy, nor I have a sweet tooth, but every time I get to eat anything from LaSalle, I wonder… I wonder… Should I reconsider and eat MORE desserts and pastries ??? Everything I’ve had here has been outstanding. — The delicious and light fruit tart… made with sweet fresh pieces of seasonal fruit, light spongy cake base and wonderful sauce is to DIE for… I have taken it to friend’s places many times and the reaction is the same… YUM !!! SOGOOD !!! — The carrot cake is moist, tasty, with real carrot taste without being overwhelming. Nice nuts, spices and cream makes this a top choice also. — Pecan roll… gooey…delicious…flaky…sweet…only $ 0.999 !!! — Guys, just trust me… anything is great here… — The sandwiches… either breakfast or lunch are done right, toasted, warm, with nice cuts of savory meat and wonderful croissants, bagels or bread. I don’t go anywhere else for dessert or pastries… This is IT !! :-)

LaSalle has always been a staple in RI. Even when I was younger I remember my family getting pastries from here. I live right around the corner and this has easily become one of my go to spots. Besides the pastries(the cannoli and lobster tails are my favorite), LaSalle has many different coffee flavors I’m a fan of. Snickerdoodle is at the top of my list and my roommates always rave about the Banana Hazelnut. I also really like their premade sandwiches here. My favorite is the chicken salad. You can tell its always prepared fresh daily and the bread they put it on is very tasty. On the weekends there can sometimes be a little bit of a wait, with locals like myself coming in and PC students when school is in session. But the lines tend to move pretty quickly and the people working there are always very friendly. And also as a bonus note, they have a patio seating area out front in the summer which is great to sit out at when the weather is nice and enjoy your coffee.

I live within walking distance. I am surprised I don’t weigh an extra 10 lbs. Always have plenty of coffee flavors available and they usually have a cute college girl handing out samples. At christmas it got a little nuts trying to get anywhere near the place, but my family’s rave reviews over their custard coconut pie was worth the panic inducing trip.
