The food is good but I’ve found that they tend to not have as many options as the Fire and Ice in Boston. I’d love to see them expand their horizons a little and be more like that version of this chain restaurant. The atmosphere is nice and I get the theme to it, but the red lighting over tall the tables kinda freaks me out and makes it also really dark. It’s hard to adjust to the lighting after walking in from outside. The service is friendly but every time I go it seems to be a little slow, they haven’t really checked on us too many times for drink refills and such. The food that they do have is really good, and it is a very unique(in a good way) way of serving the food at any fire and ice if you’ve never been to one. You pick your raw ingredients and put them together, including a sauce, and its essentially hibachi to cook it around a big round grill. Definitely worth a try! I hope they add a few more options to the raw food buffet tables though.

Great. Just wrap your head around that you are in charge of your food. Cooks were great! Servers weren’t as available as they could be. Ingredients looked fresh. Terrific.

First and foremost, don’t let the goofy décor scare you away. When I walked in, I wondered when the clowns were gonna pop out. Luckily that never happened. Let me explain this place. It is an all you can eat buffet style restaurant BUT, the hot dished are designed by you and cooked by the staff. There is a small, but nice salad bar and 3 soups. Then you put whatever you want in the bowl and take them to the grill to be cooked. There is pasta, rice amd other bases for your dish. Pick your veggies then proteins. A vast selection of meat and seafood. Then pick your sauces and they make it for you. And for an extra $ 5 you can make your own ice cream sundae the size of your head. Give it a chance! Management, you could make this place much more upscale if you could do something about the theme(I realize that’s eaiser said than done).

Disgusting!!! The service was actually VERY good! The food is gross. When mixing my food in the grill while I waited, the utensils that touched my food touched at least 6 other meals. One girl has an Alfredo sauce next to mine, then they used that spatula on my teriyaki. I don’t even know how to describe what I ate! My husband ended up with fish in his meal, my daughter had chicken in hers(not by their choice) AND their cook brushed all of my bok choi into the grill well. I ended up with 2⁄3 of what I started with.

An odd take on Mongolian… that just doesn’t work. Exceptionally over priced for value of the food. Better off going somewhere else and get value for your money.

This concept is great. You choose from a nice assortment of items from sauces to salads to meats to pasta and then you bring up to a large grill where it is all cooked for you. I went here for lunch and the décor is very festive, the wait staff very attentive. The only negative I could say is that it seems like it could be a little cleaner but that is often the case with a buffet style establishment. Overall it’s fun and different.

Love this place! Just the concept is so much fun. You can walk around pick up all different veggies and protein and watch them grill it all in front of you. I have tried so many different selections there but just need to get better with not putting so much in my first dish. You can go up numerous times so I think the best bet is to put a little amount in each dish to try all different sauces, burgers, wraps, everything! It baffles me that they offer appetizers and dessert which is extra. How can you need more food? The décor is so modern with lots of colorful lights but looks classy not cheesy. This is a fun place for kids too as they can basically play with all types of food and watch it being cooked right in front of them. You will never have trouble finding something you like, you may just be overwhelmed by all of the choices. They can make anything into a sandwich if you ask as they have bread at the grill and make sure to grab some of their steamed fajita wraps, so soft!

Damn people sure are hating on this place. I have always liked Mongolian bbq restaurants myself. I often go to one of a different brand back in Michigan. Yeah the wait can be long but the food is decent and worth the price. They have long improved the menu by adding burgers, quesadillas, pizzas, etc. They do need more sauces, that is where they fall short compared to other similar type places. The vegetables need to be better quality sometimes. Don’t put out cucumbers that have clearly gone bad, not cool. They overcook the meat sometimes too, as they are probably managing too many dishes at one time. It is good if you are eating healthy because there are many stir fry and low carb options. The décor here is fun too. Overall this is an alright place on occasion.

Excellent place to dine when you find yourself starved in Providence Place. My bf and I went there during dinner time so it was basically 18.99+ for each of us and we indulged in the abyss of food. The price is a bit too high I think but they have quite the variety for vegans/vegetarians. First, you can start off with a salad or soup. Or you can skip that and start with your meal. They have appetizers too on the menu but I didn’t want any. It’s all you can eat so you’ll never find yourself limited. The cooks are entertaining to watch. I can imagine it to be very stressful for them but they seem like their job is a piece of cake. If you’re vegetarian you can request for your food to be cooked on a grill in the back but you cannot watch. Im not sure if they had anything other than ice cream for dessert but it was 4.99 and you can top your ice cream with as many toppings as you’d like for free. I will go again no doubt.

Well i haven’t been here in a couple of years and i remember why now. Its a festive looking place, your greeted with a pleasurable person, and the service is good. But the food has gone down hill. They changed alit of it as well. I think for the price they charge it should have better quality and quantities of choices. I noticed there not that stocked on products either? Im thinking i probably will not be back! But on the plus side i dud have a margurita. and it was pretty good!

Terrible! That is the best way to describe this place. We have been going to fire and ice Boston, MA for several years so we decided now that we live in the providence area, why not give this one a shot. The food was awful. To start the salad dressings were so blah with no flavor I couldn’t even eat it… Ok no big deal! On to the main… The noodles were sooooo old tasting and stale. The chicken was like rubber, sauce was OK a little too spicy but I was warned. My wife and I left in disgust from this place… It seemed so dirty and just not clean. We both had stomach aches and I can’t believe they charge $ 19 a dinner for that slop. Honestly I bet prison food would have been better! Stay away save your money and you health!!!

A group of 5 of us went to this location last night and had a great time. The servers were great. They kept the drinks coming. My friend got an awesome Seadog Blueberry ale that was fresh and cold. The wine list was small, but I found a decent one to enjoy. The waitress explained the process of picking your food, and sauces, and how they were cooked. As a vegetarian, she told me if I had any concerns or allergies, they could grill my plate separately. Which is awesome! I didn’t anticipate there being so many veggie options, since many chain buffets don’t, but I was pleasantly surprised! I got every vegetable imaginable, including tofu, grilled with a spicy sauce. And since I’m a spice snob, I had to make it hotter by using all 4 hot sauces on the table. My carnivore friends went up a couple times and enjoyed all the meats and pastas. My only qualm would be that my diced potatoes and carrots could’ve used a few more minutes for a nice sear. But if you like them al dente, you won’t have a problem. And I’m sure the grillers would cook anything to my liking had I known! Note to self: Buffet!!! Save room for a second plate so I can try more options next time!!!

Came here for my bachelorette party! You go up the MANY buffet of items, bring your bowl to the grill where they grill it up for you. A great meal and a fun experience!

Waste of time and money! I have been to downtown Boston Fire and Ice multiple times and never had a bad experience… not the case with my experience with the Fire and Ice in Providence. We were there when they were running Saturday bruch which was $ 32 for two people plus drinks($ 45 with tip). What did I get for my money? A croweded disorganized resturaunt. They put my sauce on my wife meal… even they we both kept saying no… no…no when the cook pointed to confirm! It was like a 20+minute wait to just get the food in the grill, plus the 10+mins we spent putting the food in the bowl and then still cook time! So all and all it was a 40 minute investment into a meal she didn’t want! The cooks responce was«sorry…I will have to start all over now» but didn’t offer to actually do so. One more thing I wanted to have some chili since waiting for the grill was a waste of time… they were out of spoons! So for $ 45 we got 1 bowl, 1 burger and a bowl of chili(with no spoon) and two cokes!

Hard to rate. Been here several times and it has varied every time. You put your own plate together and they cook it. Awesome cooking Concept. If you have a food allergy, let them know and they will cook it out back as the main grill uses the same spatulas on all food so the risk of cross contamination is higher. Service is always AWESOME as is the management staff. Except for making a few flavor mistakes myself, the food was very tasty. Only a few negatives, but could be major ones… if you go with kids and they want dessert.. the ice cream bar costs $ 5.00 extra. Food didn’t look fresh and labeling of food types were mixed up as the place got more crowded and the lines got longer, they ran out of preparation bowls and utensils. … Lastly, the wait staff are awesome, but the management organization needs some help… as it got more crowded, things went down hill quickly… I would not suggest going here if large events are in the area ! You will have a better experience on a regular day…

Fire + Ice is located in the Providence Place Mall. It is a very affordable all you can eat restaurant. It is a unique experience if you have never tried it. It is basically a Mongolian bar concept except it includes different types of cuisines(Italian, Latin, American, Asian). You go to the various bars to select your raw food and sauces of your choice. Then, you bring the ingredients to the grill so they can cook it for you. You can pick from meats such as steak or fish, burgers, vegetables, etc. It is decent food but the biggest selling point is the price. If you are a student, they also have a special on Monday dinner at $ 10.99. If you are passing by Providence and looking for recommendations, please see

Fire & Ice seemed like a really funky and hip place to try based on curbside appeal. It’s got bright colors that pop and make you wonder what’s going on inside. I was greeted by the host who carried on a short cordial conversation with me as he took me to my seat. I was then approach by a polite waitress who recommended the Seadog Blueberry Wheat Ale. It was delicious. Now, I was immediately turned off when the waitress told me how everything worked. The concept is cool, because you essentially get to selected from different stations, what it is you’d like to eat. You collect it all and take it to the grill and it is prepared. I wasn’t too thrilled about that to start. When I went around to the different stations, the food didn’t look very appeasing or fresh. I walked down the line of serving stations twice and decided I’d just have my beer. When I sat back down, the waitress asked if I’d like to have an appetizer and I said yes. She gave me the menu again and this is where it went really downhill for me. Whenever I go out and chicken quesadillas are offered, I got for it. The menu said chicken + Gorgonzola quesadilla. Never heard of the word, and I asked what Gorgonzola was and I was informed it was blue cheese. I’m fine at this point because though I’m not a fan and crave blue cheese, I eat the stuff and wondered what a chicken quesadilla tastes like with blue cheese. I get my dish and it looks great. I take a bite and taste something I haven’t eaten in 20 years. It’s pork. I inspect it and I’m pretty sure it’s pork and I call over my waitress and she confirms. I tell her I do not eat pork and she says«It says it on the menu.» But I had already looked at the menu and when she did, she found out what I knew. There was no description on the menu about the dish. Based on what it said, all I should have gotten was chicken and blue cheese. She offered to have it redone, and I initially said yes, but then decided not to before she took it back to the kitchen. And even though I was surprised that she didn’t know what was in it when I asked about the blue cheese, she did have it taken off my bill, and I was only charged for my beer. So I left a generous tip and went to the Cheesecake Factory as I had originally planned. This eatery closes early at 10 and I suspect it’s a good restaurant. I did go in an hour before closing and the concept does seem cool. I just don’t want to go into a restaurant, be seated, given a menu and then told I have to get up and prepare my own bowl. I’d rather sit down knowing it. So the waitress here gets this review 2 stars as opposed to 1.
