Excellent! We went for a Valentine’s dinner and although the restaurant was busy, it still felt quiet and intimate. The layout is great, we were upstairs in the loft-style dining area and it was comfortably warm even though it was like 2 degrees out and freezing downstairs. The food(bacon-wrapped tenderloin and grilled swordfish) was amazing! For dessert, we had a chocolate sampler that was WAY too much food for two people, but we got to try everything and it was all fantastic. I haven’t spent much time in Providence, but from what I could tell, the location is great and if it was warmer out, we definitely would have been able to walk anywhere we wanted to after dinner. I heard they have live music later in the evening, but we left before that started.

Went here for Valentine’s Day with my husband. It was our first time at Circe. The ambience was great. The bar looked nice and sleek. We talked about going back another time to sit at the bar and have a drink. The food was delicious. We will definitely be going back.

SHESAIDYES! First I want to thank the owner Carlo and his amazing staff for making one of our most important and happy event a moment we shall never forget. I was looking for a special place to propose to my beautiful girlfriend. I was truly looking for a place that we had both never been before, and a place we could return year after year. Circe did not disappoint! The owner himself took it upon himself to oversee every detail. That being said we started out afternoon for brunch on Valentine’s Day 2016. We were seated at what is now known to us as «our table #44» which is beautifully perched up on the second floor with an amazing view of downtown providence. The décor and ambience was spectacular. Very elegant with a modern flare, very easy bright and enjoyable. We started with our meal with a mimosa and the cheese assortment. Delicious! We then had our main course, my fiancé devoured the banana foster and I thoroughly enjoyed my fried chicken and waffle. Carlo personally delivered his masterpiece desert«death by chocolate» where he masterfully presented the Tiffany engagement ring I was surprising my girl within this beautiful dish. It’s hard to put into words but every element of our day from the begging to the end was perfection. If you are looking for excellent food where everyone knows your name and your wish is their desire Circe is a must! We will be coming back every year to celebrate many more years and to try the rest of this incredible menu.

Looking to create a fantastic evening? In the mood for delicious food and a great atmosphere? Dying to impress somebody? Take them to Circe. We have been here several times and each and every experience has been something we’ve shared with our friends and family. Abigail, our waitress, took an already perfect night and brought it to the next level with her kindness and great personality. And Carlo, the owner, taking the time to come chat with us and introduce himself made it feel even more special. Make time for Circe. You won’t regret it!

Absolutely amazing experience. I stumbled upon the menu for this restaurant while trying to find places that were open in the blizzard today. We were greeted by a wonderful ambiance and chic décor. For starters, my mother and I ordered the lobster risotto topped with avocado ice cream. It was amazing. Creamy, and filled with LARGE pieces of real lobster. For dinner, my mom ordered the pumpkin gnocchi– out of this world! The taste and flavor was impeccable and the cauliflower complemented the dish very well. She also ordered a side of brussel sprouts… best ones I’ve ever tasted. As for me, I had the salmon special and I kid you not, it was the best meal I have ever eaten in my life! The dish was a layer of lobster mashed potatoes(again, LARGE pieces of lobster; they don’t cheap on this stuff!), then asparagus, then salmon, all topped with scallops! It not only was delicious but beautifully presented too. My favorite food is scallops, and I have to see these were some of the best ones I have ever tasted. The service was great, and the staff were friendly as well. I have a tendency to drink a lot of water while I’m eating, and my glass was never empty for more than a minute. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone! I am not one to go back to restaurants multiple, for I am always seeking out new places. However, I will most certainly be going back to Circe, and bringing all my family and friends with me!

I had a reservation for 5 this past Friday at lunch. We were greeted with a smile as they took our coats. This is my third time here. The other two times were for dinner. This was my first luncheon here. I really like a good Burger and it was point on. I like my beef rare and most restaurants can’t figure this out. Everyone else loved their lunch. The service has always been great. the food is always fantastic, and the restaurant is very clean. Keep up the great job!

Had four drinks and not even a buzz-what a joke-and the girl bartender charged me $ 10 for a Captain and Diet but the boys only charged me $ 9. Oh and a 30 minute wait for the bathroom?! Definitely disappointed…

This places showcases a true pride of ownership. We came to dine on a busy Friday night and the owner was right up front seating guests and managing the front of the house. The food and service was impeccable. I didn’t like the drink I had ordered but the owner came by and graciously offered a new one, no questions asked. They have a great DJ after dinner hours, the staff is friendly, and the crowd is clean cut and sophisticated.

Let me start off by saying Circe may be my favorite restaurant in Providence. It’s not just the food, but it’s the ambiance, the atmosphere, and a fun attitude that make Circe great. One of the things I really like about Circe is that they don’t seem to take themselves too seriously; the drinks are fun and playful, the food comforting and not pretentious, and the set up is beautiful and welcoming. I absolutely love their cocktails! I had the Dirty Mama last time, which is pretty much a dirty martini with the addition of pepperoncini juice and a blue cheese stuffed olive. It was gone in about 5 minutes. The hibiscus martini is also a popular choice. I haven’t had a bad cocktail there. My husband ordered the Basil Flip, and he said it was only okay, but the server graciously offered to replace it with something else. The mushroom bolognese is out of this world delicious! The salmon is also excellent. Honestly, everything on their menu sounds amazing, and I usually have a hard time choosing. My favorite Circe memory is going there for my birthday, and literally as the server put my husband’s order in front of him, they realized they had made him the wrong dish. The server said something to the effect of «I’m so sorry, we made you the wrong dish. Enjoy that one with the table and we’ll get your correct order right out to you.» We all enjoyed the mistake and were incredibly impressed with how they handled it. I’ve been to Circe a couple of times, and I have to say that my dining experience was much better outside of Restaurant Week. I don’t know if they are trying to do too much(their Restaurant Week menu is much more extensive than comparable restaurants) but I would recommend paying them a visit NOT during Restaurant Week. The service was lacking(I think they were too busy) and I didn’t think the food was executed well(it was cold, our orders arrived at different times). You’re still going to pay about the same amount by the time you order drinks and pay tip! Every time I’m there the owner is there as well. He is truly the face of Circe and makes a point to come around and talk to everyone. He treats all of his customers as though they are VIPs, which goes a long way! I will continue to recommend Circe to my friends and family, and will continue to go there for a nice meal out!

Fantastic, popular place. Had multiple company events for visitors and guests. Very helpful manager and event coordinators. Waiters and hosts were great. Food was excellent, as were drinks and dessert. Highly recommend the salmon and pumpkin crème brûlée. Will come back next year!

The long and short of it, the food was excellent, the service incredibly bad. My girlfriend and I went here looking to try out a new restaurant during Providence Restaurant Week. Worst experience I’ve had at a restaurant that I can remember. Things started out poorly and went downhill from there. We had reservations so after a minor wait we were seated upstairs. It’s a funky layout, sort of an indoor deck set above the main dining room and bar. Neat and interesting space, but the ceiling is a bit too close for comfort and the noise level is high(much quieter downstairs). Our first clue that things were not going to go well was that our waiter was new and obviously overwhelmed. The manager jokingly introduced him and said if we had any problems he would deport him. My only real problem with his English being heavily accented was that combined with the upstairs din it was hard to understand him. We put in our order for drinks, my gf’s came quickly enough but my Blue Moon came 10 minutes later, barely above luke warm and sans orange slice. Okay, so things are busy, I didn’t explicitly ask for the slice and hey maybe they had to tap a new keg. It takes more than a warm beer to ruin my night. We then waited… and waited… to place our order. Our waiter finally came back, we got our order in… and waited and waited. We finally grabbed him to get us some bread. Add rinse and repeat for the rest of the evening. At the 2 and a half hour mark we finally called it quits. We did the Prix Fixe Restaurant Week option so we kind of felt we were trapped there through dessert, but we couldn’t take it anymore. We flagged the waiter(which took some doing as he and the manager had disappeared by that point) and got our desserts to go. The waiter was apologetic, offered an excuse(something about a large party) and they comped us our 2 drinks but the damage was done. Again, food was good, service was pathetically bad. I hate reading this line in reviews and writing it is even worse… We won’t be going back.

I went to circe for providence restaurant week this past Monday. We chose this place because they had a decent size menu for the event. The food was really good, but the service was extremely slow. For a monday night, it took our server almost 10 minutes to greet us, and then another 10 to get our drinks, and the place was not that busy. I would try it again because the food and drinks were really good, but hopefully the service improves.

I have made reservations here for my husbands birthday in the summer of 2015, the service was great, and they made arrangements at the last minute. The part that irritated me was that the minute your appetizers came in, your main course comes right on top. Which was a feel of being rushed, not to mention, that their tables are small. I still like this place and have gone a few times for special occasions. Their food is small portioned but worth the price tag. I can’t wait to go again!!!

Tried Circe for restaurant week. I am in providence all the time to eat. I got the prosciutto for an app. Beef wrapped with bacon tenderloin and mocha mouse for dessert. I went with 3 others and all loved every dish like I did too. The food was excellent and so was the service. I would recommend this place for sure especially during restaurant week! The atmosphere is super cool too :)

The all white décor and ambiance was beautiful, great food and exceptional service. All our entrees were delicious especially the truffle fries, mushroom fettucine and Bolognese. Highly recommend this restaurant for a night out on the town.

We had a great staff dinner at Circe last night. I love that they have large round tables, so nobody is left out of the conversation and the upstairs area is really nice. The staff was all super friendly and they have free valet! Most importantly, the food is absolutely delicious. There were nine of us and everyone ordered something different. There wasn’t one complaint from anyone. Everyone raved about their food. I had the scallops and they were amazing. It was also one of the largest scallop portions I’ve ever had. The only reason they aren’t getting five stars is because the service was a little bit slow. It might have been because we were the only group upstairs, but we didn’t even get bread until we had been there for 45 minutes. Other than that, everything was amazing!

I visited Circe for Providence restaurant week. Both their lunch and dinner menus looked amazing so I had to check it out. The vibe of Circe reminder me of Miami Beach. White shutters and woodwork throughout the place with various neon lights and upbeat music. Great service, with thorough and friendly waitstaff, they were able to give recommendations and answer questions efficiently. I got the watermelon gazpacho with a seared scallop and feta, gnudi with lobster which was garnished with flowers and chocolate fondant with coconut sorbet. All of the dishes were great! Seems like a cool spot to get a drink too.

Circe is one of my favorite places to go in Downtown. You will find me there every Sunday sharing the best Honey drizzled french toast and banana pancakes with my twin daughters. We love the privacy of the location and the ambience of the restaurant. The staff is always a pleasure and the owner, Carlo, is beyond fantastic. He makes sure everyone has an enjoyable experience. Go for brunch, lunch, or dinner. you’ll be happy you did!

Awesomeee mixologists. Try the Hibiscus Martini and the Mango Sno-Hitos(made up name I made for a mojito with a snow cap top) all very reasonable and made special with love! I also had the Chicken, which was soooo tasty, flavorful and served with mashed potatoes and string beans. I was very impressed at the stein taste of such a simple dish bit very happy, will definitely be back!
