Don’t know what’s worst an old pizza or massimos pizza, going to say old pizza. Their pizza taste like an old shoe so don’t waist your time or money eating here

There is really nothing about this place that warrants tolerating the mean guy behind the counter. If they send him off to charm school, I might stop in when I am in the mood for a mediocre, overpriced meal.

Even one star is too much They should close this place down and give this space to a legit business on Nassau street The worst pizza. Tastes worse than cardboard To top off bad pizza — $ 3 for a freaking slice … That’s insane

Only had the pizza and it’s pretty bad. Edible. But not good. I ordered two slices and two people had to touch the pizza without gloves to get it in a box. They had previously been handling money and who knows what else without washing their hands. Just gross. The man and son behind the counter were pretty unwelcoming. You could as least smile when you serve germy bad pizza!

Excellent service, very tasty pizza, and very big slices. You can’t go wrong if you walk in on a warm Sunday afternoon, hungry for a fun Princeton location and fantastic pizza! Try the chicken buffalo and ask for wine blue cheese(don’t forget to hit the gym later!) they deliver ;) check them out!

This place is filthy. The guy that was making the food in the back did not wash his hands or wear gloves. He was busy talking on his phone and adjusting his blue tooth piece in his ear the entire time he attempted to make my sandwich. The bathroom was disgusting with filthy floors, walls and toilet. The restaurant floors looked like they hadn’t been touch with a broom or a mop in months. The jersies that they have hanging on the wall are filthy dirty. What a shame. We used to like this place whenever we came to visit our daughter at school but definitely will never be back.

This is the worst place on earth. First of all, I almost fell at the door step because of the extra step at the door. Then inside the place the floor is uneven, I almost tripped once again. We orders the cheesesteak, most disappointing cheesesteak ever. The bread is soft, very little meat and cheese inside, they don’t have any basic ingredients such as lettuce tomatoes, onions, mushrooms or peppers. Just very little meat and cheese, and they don’t even taste good. The place is simply horrible.

Honestly I can’t say that the food is entirely terrible. However, when considering Massimo’s in the context of available pizza places in general, it is really not worth it. Personally, I felt as if the prices are slightly expensive, and the pizza is not really what you would hope to get. I guess I confess that I have not tried most of their menu other than pizza, but if you want pizza, definitely look elsewhere.

I went in there for a quick bite to eat and decided to order the gnocchi with tomato sauce. I can honestly say that this gnocchi was better then most Italian restaurants I’ve been to. It was cooked perfectly and I ordered the lunch portion but got a generous serving. The price was also less than $ 10, which made it that much better. My boyfriend got the gyro which he loved, but complained that they were a little cheap on the French fries that came with it.

I had Lala’s almost 10 years ago and I just had it recently, and it’s still AMAZING. «Lala’s» is a pasta dish, penne with meat sauce, ricotta, and mozzarella. It’s quite possibly the best low-key pasta dish EVER. I can’t even explain why it’s so delicious. It just is!

I asked the guy at the register his favorite and he said the cheese steak. I got that and I’m happy I did. He was super friendly and talked to me while I sat. The cheese streak was better than other local spots known for hoagies. I also got the tiger fries after. They were okay. I liked the cheese streak so much I’ll such with 5 stars

Overall, a nice experience. Food and service are much better than Iano’s(why people like Iano’s is beyond me). I ordered a cheesesteak with a side of fries for a very reasonable price. I enjoyed the Princeton sports memorabilia hanging up on the walls. It felt like a local sports bar. The service was very friendly also. The person behind the counter was much friendlier than the fat guy that works at Iano’s. This place should be the number 1 food destination on Nassau Street bar none.

You sit down then get up to give order. Food comes out and when it’s buisy guy behind counter can’t handle it. Food subpar not worth prices. Got a feta salad that had feta cheese dust rather then actual pieces. Pita bread cut the size of chicken? Who are you kidding you’re cheap skim on food and it sucks! Not sure why they still are in business.

I like Massimo’s for what it is: unpretentious, solid Italian food. The portions are huge, which makes for convenient leftovers the next day. If I’m around campus and really hungry, I’ll head over to Massimo’s for lunch because I know that the pizza is quick, tasty, and best of all: consistent. If I’m in a rush, Massimo’s is a charming place to sit down for ten minutes in the middle of town — the Princeton décor is cute, the news is usually on, and the food is warm and tasty. It’s not fancy, but lunch doesn’t have to be. I’ve used GrubHub to order from Massimo’s several times, and the service has always been very quick and quite polite. Here’s a run down: Pizza: 3STARS Beckenbauer Pizza(Fettucine Alfredo!): 4STARS Chicken Parmigiana: 3STARS Calzone: 3STARS Meatballs: 3STARS The only downside about this place for me, honestly, is the bread that accompanies all of the entrees — it’s small, limp white bread(not a baguette, not garlic bread), and it’s not good for dipping at all. Otherwise, the food is a solid standby!

TOOMUCHSAUCE!!! I stopped by yesterday with some friends for the first time and was largely underwhelmed. I shared a Pele with my friend, which looked like by far the best item on the menu – creamy pesto with prosciutto and mushrooms. Sounds delicious right? What we ended up with was a mountain of cream with a side of pasta and pesto. Everything was drenched in sauce, the mushrooms and ham completely disappearing under the torrential wave of green-ish white. Furthermore, the pasta was oddly broken, so instead of twirling our pasta, we ended up eating pieces of fettucini speared on a fork. After we finally finished, there was literally ~½ a cup of sauce left. This is definitely better for two people. Full disclosure, I may be back. For around $ 10 – 12 per pasta dish, the prices are OK for generous serving sizes, and comfort food-esque flavors(butter and cream). However, if you’re just craving cheap italian, check out one of the other places in the Witherspoon St. area.

This place is so good! Definitely recommend it! Go hungry though, portions are huge. The pasta is always delicious, homeade, and super HOT. I’ve never had the pizza, but I’ve also heard good things about the sandwhiches. The sauces are great and they use real garlic cloves. Cute place too! So Prineton-y.

I don’t understand why this place has such low ratings… The pasta is definitely around 3.5−4 stars. Not incredible, but still enjoyable. The pasta sauces here are incredible. My personal favorite is the Pele — they do pesto like a champion. I’m unsure about their other food. But honestly, if they are known for their pasta, why would you judge them on their other food? My friend got the Sosa which was grossly over-oiled. I think it’d be better to stick with their pastas with sauce. Even though it is overpriced. With the student discount and the large portions, it’s not as bad of a deal as some of the other restaurants on Nassau Street. tl;dr ORDERTHEIRPASTASWITHSAUCES.

This review is for one thing only: Massimo’s pasta Lalas dish.(How can a dish with such a happy, silly name be bad?) I now live across the country, but this dish is so good that when I’m back east and happen to be in the Princeton area I’ll come to Massimo’s just for it. I first tried this dish when my mom and I stumbled into the Massimo’s branch in Hamilton Square, a few towns over from Princeton. We each ordered our own portion, and ate until we just about burst, finishing it all. We went back any time we needed to be in the area, and when I discovered that there’s a Massimo’s Express in Princeton, I was pleased to see that the Lalas is just as good there. It’s a fairly simple dish — penne with meat sauce, mozzarella, and ricotta, baked and greasy. So I don’t know what’s in it that makes it so tasty. But I don’t care! The dinner portion costs $ 11 and is enormous(good for splitting). I don’t know that the pizza is any good. There are lots of decent food options in Princeton, but this one is fast and easy, fairly cheap and right on Nassau Street. Massimo’s also has your standard selection of specialty and typical pizzas by the slice, heroes, and an assortment of other pastas, none of which I’ve bothered trying. And as a disclaimer, some of my Lalas Love might be nothing more than sentimental attachment for something I associate with meals with my mom. But seeing all of these negative reviews made me feel compelled to leave Massimo’s some love. (Needless to say, I discovered pasta Lalas before I become a compulsive Unilocaler. .. or I never would have tried it!)

I thought the shrimp and portabella salad was tasty — mixed greens, plenty of portabella pieces, roasted red peppers, black olives, and onions mixed with oil and vinegar. Could have used a few more shrimp(only had 3 – 4) and less oil, but overall I was satisfied. It was a little pricey compared to other options($ 12), but I wasn’t in the mood for pizza, pasta or panini. Fries(with my bf’s panini) were just ok — plain and slightly mushy. We stopped off of rt. 206 in Princeton in search of a non-fast-food meal after a long drive from NY and ended up here. Could have made a worse choice — and certainly beat BK or McDonalds.
