Chuck’s is an institution. Their buffalo wings are practically addictive… the SAUCE! I dip my celery sticks in the sauce instead of the bleu cheese, it js THAT good. Seriously, during Superbowl Sunday, this place is JUMPING. Pre-order your wings now !!

Okay people of New Jersey if you haven’t tried this place yet what are you all waiting on. I was told about this place by one of the gentleman at Nassau Street Seafood & Produce Co. I order the 7 piece wings with the spicy sauce and celery sticks. Outside of my own these were the best wings that I’ve eaten in the longest time. They were crispy yet tender and the sauce was hot but not to hot. The celery sticks were pretty good. If I’m to ever come back to this area again I’ll make a point to come back. By the way the service was pretty good.

A great hole in the wall place that serves classic hot wings with ranch and celery! We ordered a platter of 15 for $ 12 and devoured it all up. They don’t bread the wings before they fry them, so this is a great option for those trying to cut down on carbs. They serve the wings on plastic plates and accidentally gave us 2 extra wings(win!). Overall it’s a pretty messy eat, but extremely satisfying for classic wings!

*Just AOK, not great, had their Philly and it wasn’t anything to brag about but not awful *Service is what I guess you would expect in a greasy joint *Wings were very average as well, not sure what all the fuss is about

Super cheap, super tasty wings. Great for large events or just stopping in for a quick bite. Try the popcorn chicken too!

I give this place four stars because they have great food, they have nice staff, but the reasons why I didn’t give them five stars is because the restaurant isn’t that nice. The tables are a bit dirty and you get served on paper plates. Besides all of this, it is a good restaurant, and they definitely have the best wings in town. If you are a college kid I highly recommend it because it is so casual and has great college kid food. Overall it’s a great pick.

We had Chuck’s wings many years ago and really liked them so we tried them again this past weekend. It was bland and SODRY. They tasted like re-fried leftover wings from a previous day. Whereas refried beans are tasty, re fried leftover wings are gross! Never again!

The food is nothing special, and the service is horrible. On top of that, the actual place is really cramped and uncomfortable.

Ok let’s just get it out of the way, yes, it is a hole in the wall. Yes I have to say I have never eaten anything but the wings at Chucks, but man are they great! Yeah, yeah, they only offer one style and level of heat. But they are the purist’s, standard buffalo, Franks RedHot, butter and lemon. Yes, you can go to these chain places that offer 20 different sauces and levels of heat but for people craving the wing in its purest form, this is the place. We have been partaking in their deliciousness for years now. From late night cravings, to large parties, they never disappoint. Always crispy and the sauce is ever consistent. If anyone is looking for great and I mean«Great» basic Buffalo Wings this hole in the wall will not disappoint.

People I know’s opinion of this place are divided between«I could go every day» and«I hate this place» Chuck’s is what it is– a place where you can get wings(at a price that doesn’t go down when you buy more), or solid but unremarkable sandwiches. If you have a craving for wings, or just need some hearty food, Chuck’s is a good place to go. If you think that you are going to find new heights of greasy food here, then you will be disappointed. Chuck’s is too expensive to be the type of place which you get fat off of $ 5 of food, and its flavors are too unremarkable to be a specialty store

Chuck’s is the end-all-be-all when it comes to buffalo wings. You can’t get better, anywhere else. If you’ve never tried buffalo wings — even if you have tried buffalo wings, come to Chuck’s and forever be spoiled.

This place is an absolute grease hole — oily tables and chairs set against the lyrical backdrop of humming fluorescent lights. The décor is a stark departure from the pretentiousness of most other places on Nassau; it’s reminiscent of Hoagie Haven, but with a menu all its own. Chuck’s serves a remarkably diverse range of fare — ribs, chicken wings, sandwiches, tacos … if it’s greasy or a dead animal, you’ll find it here. The prices are reasonable, the service is fast, and the staff are reasonably friendly(if a bit incompetent on the cash register). If you’re only in town for a few days, there are better places to eat — but if you’re a cash starved student at Princeton, this place is well worth a look.

What happened to Chuck’s??? Ate there first time in 2 years and while the wings were tasty(still a bit scrawny), the salads were old and soggy. Everything at this place could use a refresh.

I mean, it’s okay. I can wrap my head around people liking the cheap prices, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have some serious reservations. I like things hot. Women, weather, wings. I took the Spice Girls literally when they told me to ‘spice up my life.’ This has led me to be a little confused that a place that prides itself on its wings doesn’t offer anything more than just one traditional flavor. I don’t want to rule out the possibility of some sort of language barrier during the ordering process, but I’m nearly positive I was told there was only one flavor. They were still pretty decent, but I’m really not buying into the absolute reverence and seemingly unadulterated laudation for these wings. «Perfection» as one reviewer claims seems like a bit of a stretch to me. I only read three or four reviews before getting frustrated, but I’m going to wager that someone else had used the word perfect as well. Another reviewer went ahead to give his measured rating of just how great these wings are… «Meat: 7 Sauce: 10 Overall: 10» Again, I hate to make all these assumptions, but I don’t think he’s a Princeton grad with that rating system. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and gather that there may have been some other considered categories he omitted in his rather weak rating system. Sorry for ripping on you, guy. I’m just as confused as you are… Not with math, but rather how/why this place is rated so highly.

As a visitor, one would never expect Chuck’s Spring Street Café to be one of the best restaurants in Princeton. It is off the main streets in a little place that might otherwise resemble a boutique store. At one point owned by one of the infamous Menendez brother, Chuck’s seems to have a bit of a cult following. While some may come in and look at the menu, trying to decide what to order, I have one simple suggestion to make… DON’T! Sure, they may offer other items, but everyone in the know sticks to the wings. As with all wings, the key to a great wing is a great sauce. Ensure that the wing is fully covered in sauce in order to maximize the flavor of this delicious treat. While some prefer an extra meaty wing, I like one that provides enough meat while making sure each bite contains a lot of sauce. Chuck’s wings do just that and believe me, the sauce is delicious. The sauce has a good consistency and can easily be applied thoroughly to the wings. It has a great classic buffalo flavor while offering some heat, but not being too overpowering. While I cannot put my finger on exactly what makes this sauce so unique and special, I can tell you that it is the best sauce I have ever had and one that I always miss when away from home. Meat: 7 Sauce: 10 Overall: 10

Well hellooooo chicken wings! Screw Hooters, THIS is the place for nice and crispy wings and perfectly seasoned wing sauce! I came here for a quick bite before drinks with my fiancé(day right after the engagement — to get my new rock dirty!). We were freaking out about budgeting, and so decided on a cheap meal. We ordered a philly cheese steak that was quite possibly the best one I’ve had out of Philly. The onions weren’t overly fried, melted cheese oozing out, nice tasting meat and the best thing about it had to be the bread! As a carb addict, I can really appreciate a good piece of bread… and this was a fabulous mix of roll and crescent… just fluffy awesome-ness. I ordered the smallest order of wings and some curly fries as a side. As I began to share my wings with my new fiancé… I realized that these babies might just come between us… because I no longer wanted to share. They were meaty, juicy, crispy and with just enough sauce to lick your fingers after you were done with the bone. I can honestly say even the celery was the best looking celery I’ve ever had — I don’t think I even put dressing on it! :gasps: The curly fries were nothing to rave about, but they were a heaping amount, more than enough for 2 people, it’s also BYOB– which I didn’t expect bc the place looks like a little pizza joint… but then I forget it’s Princeton and people here need their craft beers with their wings. And if you are not sold yet… let me tell you one last thing… the staff is bilingual; so come by and order your wings in Spanish!

Ugh, their wings. Perfection. Seriously, they are perfect and done in lightning speed. Two dudes before us split 50, a gaggle of biker dudes ordered 75, and a group of five after us split a hundred. That’s how serious their wings are. Also, how do they get their corn nuggets so perfect?! The world may never know.

This place is a must-have at Princeton along with Hoagie Haven. Like Kevin M. said, it’s a Princeton classic! I came after hearing about their wings and Philly Cheese Steak. I’ve only had the wings here and they are phenomenal. These wings are so good it’s not even real. I don’t even know how to describe the sauce. It’s like a salty, sour buffalo wings flavor with a kick. It’s exactly what you expect, but somehow, on a different level of savory. Also, every time I come, they always give me ~2−3 more wings than ordered. I see what you did there Chuck’s ;-)

Another Princeton classic! Been coming here for over 10 years and this place some of the best wings you can get anywhere in NJ. It’s a small place that looks and smells like a large bathroom, but the wings? By far, the best around. The key however is to get and eat them while their hot. It’s completely different taste when you let them sit for a while and then eat them or reheat them. The sauce is delicious and the wings are nice and small with no breading. It’s easy to eat 20 – 30 of these things without realizing what you just did. There that good. If you’re a fan of wings, this is the go to place in central jersey for some of the best wings you’ll ever have.
