Very embarrassed and depressed because of my hair i want to hide forever… I wanted a ombré I brought a picture of what I had in mind I showed the owner Tim who I wanted to do my hair because he is sopose to be a master at coloring. anyway my hair was foiled and when you ombré from dark at the top to light ur sopose to start from the jawline down and it wasn’t blended right there is a line that shows the transition and it looks bad and not to mention ! The HORRIABlE Orange Yellow tones why didn’t he tone my hair he said it would cause damage um hello how do you expect me to walk out with ugly orange yellow tones this is not ombré at all I could just done this at home. 170 $ all for bleached hair orange yellow hair and not to mention he couldn’t get my blue out but that’s fine but as for somebody who is a master colorist doesn’t know how to ombré or knows the proper technique or the color weel to get rid of the orange brassy tones. My self esteem has dropped so low I was crying all day. never will I ask for ombré again

Jill is great and very talented. A very relaxing salon. Love the products. I would highly recommend coming here. Most salons make you pay extra to style after a cut or color not here its included in the service. GREATPLACE.

Just had another great service at b&b! Tim gave me a great hair cut that really works with my texture, face structure and lifestyle! Prior to this cut, I almost always put my hair in a bun or pony tail because it was hard to style, and usually looked like crap by the end of the day. But with this new cut, it’s very easy to style, keeps it shape for days and looks good! Even disguises my roots so I can go 6 weeks between touch ups instead of 4. I also got color that looks fantastic! If you’re looking for a style/cut/color that’s sexy and cool but classy, try this salon! Be forewarned that Tim has an acerbic wit that maybe not everyone takes a shine to(think Ricky Gervais), but has a big heart. I find everyone at the salon to be very friendly and sweet. They even run out to feed the parking meters for patrons! I usually park on one of the nearby side streets, where it’s free parking for 2 hours.

Was greeted nicely, salon had 1 other client. Street parking with meters using quarters 2 hr Max. Was there to see Tim owner & master colorist as he advertises. He Listened to me speak for 5 – 7 min about my wishes for color correction & I was first time client. Above the shoulder hair length & straight. Needed color correction with blond not touched by anyone prior to him for 5 months. I told him stylists always turn my HAIR orange. He says that won’t happen. I was there for a 2 hr visit. They were attentive& after 378.00 plus generous tips & a future appt I leave. 2 hours later in the day light my hair has an orange hue all over. I call & am greeted with a nice tone — tell my story as to what I see. I am told to come in and a correction will be done by an assistant not Tim. I was also told I could have my money back. Shocked, I try to have a conversation with the girl on the phone about the issues after spending on my hair & products and tips over 400.00. I am told my the girl at the desk I have taken too much of their time that belongs to other clients. I said I could come in on Thursday being the Jewish holiday is today. Was told Tim is booked — no time for you Donna. I did speak with Tim and he did say correction could be done. I asked what the result would be & what was expected since what I was told initially this orange was not the case for B&B. My hair was blond/dirty blond hair turned orange. He never said anything just got off the call. He used the word«retarded» during my visit to reference the intellect of other stylists he didn’t know. He was also referencing the stupidity of other stylists random to my conversation. I was not sure but I suppose he was angry with a razor cutter in his hand using it on my hair that is FINE in texture. I told him the result of using that tool on the ends of my hair causes frizz. He said he doesn’t cut the ends. Well he did just that and removed the front ends of a BOB hair style to give me movement. I never asked for movement. I really don’t like the hair cut/trim & orange hue. I paid on debit card they don’t allow AMEX. No other clients arrived in the salon while I was there. Tim was proud to tell me of his relationships in NYC with a particular salon. He uses GOLDWELL products. He did foils on my hair for this orange hue. So, I won’t be back and won’t tell anyone to go to this place in Princeton. I made a mistake! There are plenty of other great salons in that town. He is not in the nicest area on Witherspoon Street. Bldg is easy to see. All in all move on & don’t believe he can help & don’t believe he is an expert. I was forced to give him 1 star he deserves 0. Not sure how he is in business! I am happy I went elsewhere for correction of Orange hue & was told he is known to not achieve what a client wants in many circles around Princeton.

Had a great experience here. The bottom tips of my hair had faded to a reddish brown that did not match at all with my dirty blonde roots growing in. Tim took the time to give me exactly what I was looking for and provided great color correction! I love the results and it looks so natural. Overall, really nice staff and relaxed salon atmosphere. Thank you!

I was looking for a new salon to try in Princeton to help color and highlight my blonde hair. I thought I would take a shot on them. The receptionist was very bubbly and polite. I really liked her energy. When I first had my stylist Jillian she was very friendly and personable. She was so energetic and convincing that I also decided that I should get my hair cut. I had a photo for reference of how I would like my hair to be cut especially my bangs. I’ve been showing that picture for years. I have had sideswipe bangs forever. The first red flag is when she put toner in my hair without permission. I did not mind that she did that because I have had my hair done blonde many times and understood but I would have appreciated her notifying me that it would’ve cost extra first. The color was fine but the real issue came to my bangs. they were chopped up and very short l… looking almost nothing like the photo that I presented despite stressing how important my bangs were to the entire cut of my hair. I have a photo for reference but my bangs actually get shorter when they’re supposed to be getting longer. I am not here to bash anyone but I just am so dissatisfied with the money I invested in a trust I put into the salon to do my hair and left very unsatisfied. At the end I felt pressured to write a great Unilocal review but I wasn’t happy with my hair at all and it wasn’t even fully blown out like it has been in the past years whenever I would get my hair done. it was left semi wet. I felt somewhat rushed after the manager and the receptionist left and I wanted to speak up and say something but what could be done at this point I just have to wait for my bangs to grow out. Sometimes I feel as though if the haircut and the service was that amazing the customer will write their own Unilocal review and you never have to ask. it should be organic.

For some reason my reviews, which were three consecutive five star reviews, disappeared from Unilocal! To recap, I give the salon a perfect score for color, highlights, and hair cut. Jillian is amazing! She is above and beyond stylists I’ve had. Her skills exceed the high end salons in the area and she has won me over for life. I’ve found all the staff there to be extremely friendly. I highly recommend this salon for any hair service and stand behind the perfect rating!

I have been coming to B&B for a couple years now since moving to Princeton. The owners and staff are wonderful, friendly and seem very knowledgable on the latest trends. I don’t color my hair so I cannot comment on that but I can say I have always loved my cuts and get many compliments on them. Before I started going to B&B I tried several other salons in Princeton; they were all over priced and the staff seemed pretentious. As long as I am in the Princeton area I will continue to get my hair cut here.

I came in for a color and cut appointment. My appt was w a stylist, however the owner stood behind me and totally made fun of my color, cut etc. I stressed that I only wanted a trim, but he went on and on about how I needed to get at least 3 inches taken off, making snarky remarks about how if I didn’t do what he was suggesting I was going to look like I was from the 70’s w a mullet(what?!?) So the color process began first. She asked what colors I liked and then went off to mix some stuff up, never confirming if those were the colors I wanted. Then came back and started bleaching out my hair. Again, not explaining what she was doing prior… but as she was doing it eek!!! When it was time to wash out my color, she didn’t wash OR condition it… just rinsed out the color. AND as she was doing this, she says, «do you think you could come back another day for your cut? I’m getting really busy here». Wtf?!? The cut was the MAIN reason I came to this salon! Then the owner comes over and says«just put some conditioner on her and she will be fine». At this point, I just wanted to get the hell out of there. I told them don’t worry about it, I’ll come back when you’re less busy. She was stoked about that… didn’t even shampoo or put conditioner in my hair. Just rinsed me and then passed me off to another stylist to blow dry me. Soooooo unprofessional. This place is very new in Princeton and one would think they would be trying to make good impressions. When I asked when I could come back for my hair cut the owner tells me it will be at least 2 weeks!!! Hello?!? My hair cut was supposed to be today and now because YOU didn’t manage your time and appointments, I have to wait two weeks?!? Besides the terrible service, the salon itself is bare and has 0 style or personality. Def would not recommend and def would never go back. Oh, and my pillow cases were ruined by dye that should’ve been washed out. Ugh

You simply cannot go wrong with B & B Color Studio. I have been going to B & B since the salon opened. Tim specializes in perfection when it comes to his customers. Whenever I want to change my hair, which is often, Tim takes the time to review pictures and ideas that I may have. He looks at the shape of my face, the texture of my hair and my skin tone. Is it a wearable color/style for me? Will I be able to duplicate the style on my own? I have had styles from beautiful long locks to the short and sassy cut I have now. My color has ranged from dark auburn to the blond I am today. I have even had Keratin treatments to straighten my «difficult humidity hair» and the outcome was amazing. Truly the most professional salon in the area. Truly the most trained colorist/stylist you will find. I know this review is long but I cannot explain to you in one or two sentences why B & B is so awesome. Once you go, you will be a lifetime customer. Enjoy your new look!
