High Gear Bike Shop

Wow-​these guys (and gal) know their bikes! Fast and friendly service. They are honest and dont try to sell you what you don’t need. Safety is a concern and they share their knowledge freely :) love this little shop.

As soon as you walk in you are made to feel welcomed. I wasn’t there to make any purchases, I showed up with my wheel in hand unable to inflate my tubeless. Joseph (very polite young man) was more than happy to help. He filled up my tire as a courtesy. He was personable, polite, knowledgeable and was glad to help. The selection is great for basically whatever you need. Will not shop anywhere else in Prescott. I couldn’t leave without making a purchase… more Stans and I believe I deserved a new pair of glasses!

OK, credit where credit is due! These guys go above and beyond to help out. Cheryl (?) the manager, knows what customer service and how to get people coming back! Respect to this place! I don’t object to spending money on quality items and getting great customer service. The mechanics are very patient and great at what they do!

First time stopping in this week and we’ve already been back twice! Great selection and prices. We walked out with a bike, shoes, and the COOLEST water bottle holder ever (posted in the photos).
Cindy is amazing and runs circles around everyone else.

Getting ready to buy my second bike from these guys. Didnt even think about going anywhere else. The staff love what they do and it shows. Great selection of any type of bike you want at any price range.

Been to one other bike shop in Prescott… High Gear was our second effort /​location and so that speaks volumes.
First, the shop doesn’t look from the outside like a ‘business’, more like a home and it is on the edge of a residential area. Two small homes connected by a walk way and there you are… rather nice.
I was there with my wife, we only wanted a new helmet but we were treated well, shown a variety of helmets, advised about the differences and prices, so forth and also given a few ‘suggestions.’ (the first bike shop ‘pointed’ when I asked about a product and gave a little ‘take a look.)
The atmosphere inside is wonderfully ‘old fashioned’ with service, friendliness and excellent knowledge of all the products VERY obvious. Wooden supports hold many of the new bikes suspended, adds a kind of quaintness to the gleaming metal, leather and rubber surroundings. Old photos of the Tour hand from the walls and vintage bike parts are in glass cabinets
I think some folks are just rather quiet but overall the folks at the shop are friendly.
We had to take a bike in a short time after our first visit, just a small adjustment and new seat. The expertise is evidenced by the number of people who come in for purchases and service (while there only about 40 minutes we saw three people come in to drop off bikes and at least one pick up his repair). Prices are very good. We paid about $ 7 for the adjustment and the installation of a new seat was free (the seat was fair priced, we’d checked online and it is /​was competitive). Very excellent experience and frankly we will not go elsewhere for bicycle parts or service. Thanks Billy.

Hey, so my wife’s new Schwinn bicycle I bought at Walmart needed a new seat clamp since I over tightened it. (Piece of junk probably from China) I went to this shop and they fixed me up right away with a cool lock down type you can adjust by hand. Also got a cool handlebar basket so my wife can carry her dog with her. The guy (don’t remember his name) was very friendly and helpful. He obviously knew what he was doing.
It’s great to have a specialty bike shop in town. I should have spent the extra bucks here and bought my wife’s bike from these guys. Live and learn.

My wife and I stopped by to buy some parts, and after being ignored for 15 minutes we walked out. The staff on duty even looked right at us and kept on doing what they were doing, and it wasn’t helping another customer. Don’t bother going here.

Best selection in Prescott by far. Staff was nice and helpful.
