Giant Eagle

This is by far the worst Giant Eagle I’ve been to. First, there’s no small carts so you’re forced to either use a basket or a large cart.
Second, they have the rudest men working in the seafood/​meat area. I asked if something was spicy because I was making food for a party and I was told «only if you’re a sissy girl». Yes that is a quote! I asked what being a girl had to do with anything and he back tracked really quickly.
Third, they don’t carry as much or good of a selection as other stores especially with new products, organic or specialty.
Fourth, no self checkout lanes unless you have only a few items. Seriously, I want to bag my own groceries please put in self checkout lanes! And make sure there’s paper bags available. Why is this the only location that doesn’t have them?
Finally, I could keep going with the rant but I’ll wrap up with it’s the worst parking lot and you’ll scrape the bottom of your car exiting. This might be a city issue but still worth noting. Do yourself a favor and drive to Whole Foods, trader joes, Andersons as it will be way better than what you’ll get here.

Whenever I have stopped in here … the produce is ripe & fresh, meat is fresh, shelves fully stocked, nice selection of brand names along with organic & natural varieties. Staff have always been helpful and friendly. Convenient location at the corner of Sawmill & Powell with plenty of parking around.
Although they have self-​serve lanes, they always seem to have a full-​serve lane open and attended, especially at late hours. Nothing I hate more than to take a full cart through a self-​serve lane where you have to weigh and decipher your produce. It’s great to have options!
I like the Giant Eagle app where you can pre-​load electronically your coupons and have them automatically have them deducted at check-​out.

This place is nothing special, it’s just another GE. They need more gas pumps for sure. Consumers beware what you save at the pump you may be paying at the register, keep that in mind.

I stopped in to pick up a few things for dinner tonight. This store is in the old Big Bear location at the former Big Bear Farms area on Powell and Sawmill Parkway.
This is a very nice location, clean, organized and well lit. I’d say you won’t find many deals here but it is still a great shopping experience anyways.
The people working here are friendly and very efficient as well.
Parking? Open and no problem at all. I didn’t see any litter anywhere.
