Bar attached to a bowling alley. Not bad drinks and service. Feels pretty divey. Bartender knew how to make a Four Horsemen, which helped with my coworker’s farewell.

So much nicer after the remodel. The bar looks like a whole new building separate from the bowling alley even though it is inside of it. Decent beer prices for draft and the bartenders are always willing ti mill something together if you want a cocktail and not sure what to order. A little disappointed there is no discounted pitcher price if you are in a league. Kareoke on Thursday evenings.

Bad… bad…bad! Drinks were over priced. The karaōke was horrible… I literally couldnt hear my own voice. You had to strain to hear anyone sing! No reverb at all. Overall volume was like a really bad baby shower kereoke in your moms living room!

Connected to Poway Bowl this cocktail lounge is your standard bowling alley liquor establishment. It has a few pool tables, a karaōke machine, a small dance floor. Come and get loaded in between bowling games!

A shout out to Ariel for the compliment! That means the world to me! Thank you! Trace the bartender

Very rude bouncer at the end of the night. Yelled at everyone to leave, acting like he owned the place. Never going on a Sunday. I recommend Mondays and Tuesday. The bartender is much nicer too.

If Jimmy’z wasn’t connected to a bowling alley, it would be considered a typical dive bar. Now you’re probably asking yourself… doesn’t that make it more the reason to classify it as a dive bar? Well my logic is the fact that the bowling kind of makes the area more of a family atmosphere so the dive bar status has to get knocked down just a notch. Bummer… cause I tend to like a good dive bar. That definitely does not take anything away from Jimmy’s! Was next door on a Saturday night bowling with friends and walked in to get a pitcher and some cocktails. The bartender(I don’t remember her name) was very friendly and attentive and provided us with what we needed immediately. Granted, this was around 8:30 at night and there were basically 6 people in the bar area, so I would have been surprised had the service not been there. Once our friends and us completed our bowling, we dediced to finish off our night at Jimmy’z. As I indicated before, there were like 6 people in the entire bar when we intitally got to the bowling area. When we went back in, there was standing room only and it was karaōke night in Poway. I am not sure what it is about putting a mic in front someone but just because you do, it doesn’t mean they can sing. Yes, there were a few diamonds(ok…rubies) in the rough but the majority were ummm… entertaining to say the least. At least they had the balls to get up and sing where as I tended to be the voyer and just watch. I know my place in life. When people weren’t singing, there was mixed music being played and people out on the dance floor… mostly the ladies. This one individual was a cross between Molly Shannon from SNL and Elaine from Seinfield. Definitely entertaining to say the least and I wasn’t sure if were were to tip or not? Who knew that this was the place to be in Poway? The crowd varied from 20 somethings to 70 somethings so it is easy to find an age demographic that suits your needs. The bar consists of a couple of pool tables, a smaller dance floor, a corner DJ booth and a mechanical bull. Unfortunately the night we were there the mechanical bull wasn’t running however it did appear that it was ready to be fired up. Is Jimmy’z really a 4 star? Probably not but I had a great time and plenty of laughs. If something or someone can give me those type of laughs… yeah, I’m a fan.

Awesome place! Very clean, good music, pool tables and a mechanical bull! What a great find in Poway. Don’t judge a book by its cover-the exterior looks a little shady but inside is really nice. The owners are a lovely couple. a perfect place to go and have some fun. I’d even go so far to say that it’s even better than a lot of places downtown. Def check them out, it’s not like you have anything better to do after 9pm in POway lol ;)

Love this place! Who doesn’t like bowling, a mechanical bowl, karaōke, and some drinks? It can be considered a dive bar, but it’s fun. It can get crowded, and make sure you get a pool table early if you want to play on that. We like to get here a little early to enjoy the drinks and friends and beat the crowd. I only wish they would make the drinks a little bit stronger, but that’s typical of any bar.

D. I. V. E. but great atmosphere and cheap drinks. Kareoke is a definite turn-off for me, but with enough alcohol, it can become quite enjoyable. We went with a big group and had a superb time! More to do with the friends, rather than the actual bar, but still was a great place to hang out in Poway(there is not much choice). The MC is funnnny :)

Coming soon! A Mechanical Bull for the ladies. Jimmy’z is basically a room with a few pool tables and a dance floor. This was the location of a company happy hour. The beer was flowing so I can’t really nitpick because everything was laughs and fun. That being said, my overall impression is that Jimmy’z is just a-okay, but the drinks were good(affordable). — GM came by and talked to us(actually just the ladies in the group) and asked if they liked riding a big bull. He said they were installing one very soon. Very Interesting.

I went here once for a birthday party. That was the one time. That will be the only time. I wasnt even aware that this bar/lounge even had a name. I just thought that it was part of the bowling alley. I kinda already reviewed this place…

I’ve only gone here while in the middle of a cosmic bowling game. I do admit. the characters in here are. well to put it nicely.interesting.but they never bother me so I don’t care. I just take my drink and go back to my bowling game. The drinks are always good here. not too pricey. and they put plenty of alcohol in them! So much in fact that when I drink here, I normally have to stop after 4. I would recommend that if you’re gonna go here. do it while you’re bowling so you can go in and out… and go in with friends or a friend cause then you won’t be bothered by the creeps that are sitting in here.

Sadly I did not get to meet Dolla Bill, so maybe that’s why the karaōke sucked. But I have a feeling it’s a continual thing.

If you like pool, karaōke(not that I actually sing), cheap beer, and a diferent crowd every night with a good local crew of regulars, come on out. Altough it’s part of the Poway Fun Bowl, where a lot of teens go to bowl, its still a cool place to party, laugh and have some fun.
