Had a hankering for halibut and chips and was not disappointed! This place is awesome. Absolutely delicious. It’s spendy-ish, but you get what you pay for.

I wish I could give this a full 5 stars but I ate there this evening and just a few things fell short. I ordered the crab cakes but was told they were out of mango chutney that went with it wasn’t available because they had run out. The waitress asked if tartar sauce would be an OK substitute and much to my disappointment, I had to change my order. The mango chutney is wonderful with the crab cakes and I couldn’t imagine having them with tartar sauce. I ordered the grilled salmon instead and although it was delicious, it didn’t have enough white wine sauce. Again, it was very tasty but needed more sauce to out it over the top(no pun intended) for me to give this the full 5 stars rating. I plan to go to JJs again, and hopefully the chutney will be back in stock!

Horrible service last night, 1÷28÷16. Caesar salad was good but chowder was cold. I can’t critique the oysters my husband ordered because he never got his meal. Who ever is running this place is asleep at the wheel.

I could have spent $ 27 on a bad movie instead. My wife’s clam linguini pasta was underdone and Carl’s Junior could have made a better chicken pesto sandwich. This was the second time we ate here and the food is typical of teenager quick order cooks. Less than average. The service was courteous and prompt. These owners of waterfront bistros just want your money.

Ok, been going here for years for fish and chips and have always enjoyed our experience. But today unfortunately JJs let me down. Brought family here from out of state and had been bragging about the food here. Sat down to order appys, well try your onion rings, sorry were out! so we got calamari! Here’s what it sounded like ordering dinner, I’ll have the ciappino, sorry were out, I’ll have the salmon linguini, sorry were out, I’ll have the halibut, we’re out of that to!!! WTF!!! IT’S ONLY4PMTHERE’S NOONEINHERE, get it together your embarrassing me in front of my out of town family who came here just to eat at JJs… Service is still great but ya gotta have something for them to serve! I’ll be back I’m sure but was dissapointed…

We stopped here for lunch after dropping a relative at the Bainbridge ferry. We had the fish tacos, clam chowder, and cod with chips. The fish and chips and chowder were excellent(and we get Mo’s chowder in Oregon, so we know good chowder) and the fish tacos were very good, a little too spicy even for a fairly tolerant palate. The service was top notch. The restaurant was about 1⁄3 full when we arrived and 2⁄3 full when we left. We encountered a couple leaving as we entered and asked if it was good. They replied that they ate there often and recommended it. We do too. I don’t understand the negative comments about service. Debbie was very pleasant, attentive, and efficient.

I had 3 large halibut strips with tarter sauce & fries. 100% perfect. My daughter & husband got hamburgers that were huge and juicy. Delicious! All of it. I enjoyed the open kitchen atmosphere & watching them in action. Great waitress. Fast and friendly.

We always make a point to come here when visiting Palsbo, I love the clam chowder. My son loves the Caesar made with egg as it should be.

JJs Fish House had amazing food and amazing customer service. I would recommend JJs to anyone that is looking for a fish place. My parents had the salmon cake burger and raved about how amazing it was. My husband hand the cod fish and chips and thought it was great. Their burgers were amazing too. Usually burgers cooked at a fish place taste like fish but not at JJs!

Fantastic view. Fantastic service. Fantastic view. This place was wonderful. The overall experience at JJ’s was great. We had a table with a view other restraints SHOULD be jealous of. The server was prompt and made sure to ask if we wanted my sons food as soon wait was done since it was going to be done quicker. Which is super attentive to our family and his 3 year old whims. The food was amazing. They make their own Tatar sauce which paired wonderfully with the fried cod. I just can’t say enough good things. This place was perfect.

Service is mediocre. Last time my family stopped in for dinner(a week ago), their kitchen was out of everything we wanted from the appetizer and dinner selection. We were presented with a list of things they didn’t have, and thought we selected items they had on hand… But the server returned to our table only to inform us that they had just ran out of one of our dinner orders. We were disappointed by that experience but decided to return. My family and I returned tonight and we were happily surprised that their kitchen items were restocked. But service still mediocre, I watched my glass of wine sit on the beverage counter while my server took a 5 min phone call… Then had my wine brought to our table. Aside from that… Their food really is amazing. Our favorites are… The streamed clams, fish and chips, grilled halibut, onion rings, capriccio, and their clam linguine. With a glass of white… yes!!!

Not sure how anyone could find a negative here. The service was excellent. My wife and I put in two orders and told the waitress it didn’t matter how they came out because we were going to split them anyway. To our pleasant surprise, she split them on two separate plates for us. You sit overlooking the water, you get great pacific cod on very original fish tacos, you get fish and chips that were as good as any(my wife said, I’ve never been) she had had in England, French fries that were incredible and all for a reasonable price. We are not only fans but we will definitely be returning on any future visits.

So the food is good. But the service? Not so much. Me and my family of 3 came here for a bigger family lunch, total table of 10. Anyway, the 3 of us where the last to join the table and the last to order. But we got our food 10 minutes before everyone else in our group. Why? Well we were told that the chef thought he’d take care of the smaller orders first. Maybe pay attention to this because it was awkward sitting around with our food waiting for everyone else to get theirs.

The service here is the worst, I can handle bland food or even a wrong order but getting bad service really ruins the experience and makes you not want to eat there. Well actually, we never really received proper service anyways since they always walked past our table and never checked on us. Don’t ever try to go there an hour or even an hour and a half until close because they will tell you they are«closed» already and won’t give you a proper answer when you say«well your sign out front says you’re open still». I guess they didn’t want our money. :/

We ate at this establishment back in August when my husband and I made a trip around the Olympic Peninsula. During our first day on the road we decided to stop here for lunch. There are two things that made this establishment a disappointment. 1. Service It took our server a really long time to bring us our beverages and menus. On top of this wait time, we probably waited about an hour to get our food. We ordered some pretty simple things on the menu, like a hamburger with fries and a grilled cheese sandwich and soup, which should not take this long to make and serve. The people sitting at the table next to us had been there before we arrived, and we got our food and left before they even received their food! On top of the slow wait time, it was obvious our waiter hated her job. She was a young gal that did not protrude any friendly mannerisms. A grumpy attitude + inadequate food service = not very nice atmosphere. 2. Quality of Food I feel like the food we had was something that should have been shown on Kitchen Nightmares. My grilled cheese sandwich was so greasy I had to dab it with napkins. My husband who will pretty much eat any burger on the planet didn’t even finish his because the meat was burnt and the bun was soggy. The soup that I ordered, which was French Onion Soup, was a huge disappointment as well. They had globbed on so much cheese on the top that it stuck to my spoon. I did give it a try, but the texture and salty taste was too much to handle. Overall, I feel like if we had even decided to ask for our food to be re-done or fixed the wait time at this place wouldn’t have been worth it. I am normally a very open and happy restaurant enthusiast, but this experience made me otherwise.

A hankering for fish n chips, totally still have that hankering! Service good, opted for fresh halibut but it was SO tasteless, fries and slaw, no complaints there. Very spendy $ 17. Plate for 2PC. Fish. Won’t be back

The fish and chips(cod) tasty and seasoned«just right«The batter was thin and crisp, the first piece of of cod was moist and flakey, the second was slightly over cooked. The fries were perfect and the poppy seed coleslaw yummy. Caesar salad had a wonderful dressing made correctly with a hint of anchovies, the lettuce was crisp, fresh and plentiful with ample cheese. I had shrimp added which cost $ 4.50 extra The service was friendly. For a place in the middle of a high tourist area this places excels

Sorry, this is incredibly mediocre food surviving on tourist trade. My husband and I both ordered the shrimp flatbread. It was a pizza completely soaked in gooey cheese. That has its time and place. But I wanted flatbread. I didn’t eat mine. My husband ate his. It had a HUGE greasy, corroded BOLT in it. We called the waiters attention and he was duly astounded. They comped our flatbread but I still had to pay for the other two entrees and the two salads(my young daughters were with us). Not only will we never be back, but no one should eat here. The food was terrible, there’s a piece of equipment missing a huge bolt. The equipment was so poorly maintained the bolt had corroded. And their service recovery was terrible. We should not have had to pay a dime. Corrosion in the stomach and blood stream!!!

My husband and I came in for lunch on a pretty nice day. We sat outside on the lanai with our two dogs(they brought out a bowl of water for them, it was really sweet). Food — I ordered the Steamers(manila clam/mussel combo) and it was delicious. Great flavor, lots of clams and mussels. I even shared with my husband — it was Valentine’s day hey. Hubby got the Caribbean Shrimp Barbi. It came with a lot of shrimp actually. It was supposed to be spicy, but it was sitting in a very sweet sauce, which I didn’t care for. Too sweet. Decent sized side of veggies as well. It was good, just too sweet. Service — Great. Friendly, efficient. What more could you ask for. Very accomodating with our two dogs outside. Great location, nice view of the marina. While we didn’t sit inside, I did walk through to use the restroom. It was big and open, but very, very loud. Would come back to eat here if we are in the area again :)
