Hello fellow Unilocalers. I found a great place hidden on 604 and ½ street. It’s Totally Pampered Day Spa. I am on vacation and felt like I needed a massage. I found this place on Unilocal since it’s close to my parents house The therapist there was friendly and she knew what exactly how to get me prepared for my spa treatment. I did a basic massage. But it felt great and I felt relaxed. I’d definitely come back again when I’m visiting Portsmouth.

Total rinky-dink operation. I wish I could have done more research on this place… but no wonder there’s no reviews… it’s a DIVE. This place is basically in some woman’s apartment. It’s cramped when you walk in, and the room they stick you in is hot and loud(I think the air conditioner was broken). My boyfriend and I got the«spa buddies» massage(60 minutes, $ 115), and while my swedish massage(done by the owner, I believe… it was a younger, african-american woman who also set the appointment), actually did feel kind of nice, my boyfriend’s deep-tissue massage wasn’t a deep-tissue at all, and, he thinks his«massage therapist»(a skinny, blonde woman with a thick southern accent) pinched a nerve because his sciatica(which hadn’t bothered him in moths) started acting up afterwards… he could barely move for a few days! Not to mention, the woman doing my boyfriend’s massage kept talking the whole time(about a fishing trip she went on over the weekend, and how funny it was when she hit someone in the face with her fishing pole, and the CD they were playing and Beethoven, or, as she called him«bee-thoven», and bla-bla-bla…). AND her cell phone went off. TWICE. They also had to leave during our massage to talk to a walk-in customer. The experience was not relaxing at all… actually, just the opposite. I can’t believe they charged for that. The whole operation was completely unprofessional, and I’m hesitant to believe that anyone there is even licensed.
