Great Hot Bar selections! Very flavorful and fresh. Yum!(1:00pm on a Sunday) I didn’t browse the rest of the store; I ate in at the small dining area near the entrance. My favorite thing about Whole Foods is the delicious, interesting hot bar options. The Denny & Westlake location in Seattle WA is the best one I’ve eaten from. This Sabin location — PTL, OR — is equally delicious. The Homemade Mac & Cheese and seasonal squash medley dishes were well-seasoned and all around delectable ! Thanks :)

One of the nicest Whole Foods I’ve been too. Lovely homey cozy wood interior design, including the sit down area for eating. More and better Food and bakery items than other Whole Foods.

Your standard neighborhood whole foods. A little smaller than flagship stores but with a great sandwich area.

Gareth and I came here to get some beer for after the show. He wills do some arm to mouth yoga while I do real yoga. If the prices were closer to par than it would be worth coming here, however, with rate it calculated to more than Vancouver. Just went to the bakery isle which was small. Vancouver location is a bit better. Customer service was awesome.

If you have a hankerin for a brownie or similar treat, this is a great place to get your fix, as well as a cup of coffee to wash it down. Better variety of and larger size treats than Starbucks offers. Granted, I can’t afford to buy all my groceries here, but it’s fun to browse… cool stuff.

I will never buy another cake from Helen Bernhardt’s Again! This is my go to place from now on. The lemon Chantilly was to die for. Real lemon curd and butter cream frosting. Yummy

I can see why this place has mixed reviews. The selection is good and the store is beautiful, but the layout is horrible. There’s no way not to get in people’s way. This makes it hard to shop. The people who work there are almost non existent unless you can find someone stocking the shelf. The lady bagging our groceries was talking to someone is another lane the whole time and seemed bothered when I asked her a question. We weren’t sure our groceries were all bagged until someone else’s stuff was shoved next to it and the bagger left. I guess that meant we were done? We won’t be back if we can help it.

Well i came for some hot food for dinner saw the ladel grabber thing in the food(likely not their fault but the next part is). Asked if they had more food in the back since it was now contaminated. nope they didnt. They didnt bother to take the food away, they still left it out. I went to the cold deli but their chickens $ 13.99 a pound there. I explained the situation to that deli clerk but he didnt have anything to say about my concerns except to say he could get me a new utensil… did he not realize it was health code violation?. Ive worked in a dining establishment since 2010. Dozens of people touch the handle and if the handle contacts the food, thats bad news. Akin to someone putting their hand into the food and taking it out. Ew.

Really good food, atmosphere and service. The sales team is really helpful and their produce is amazing. Unfortunately they didn’t sell reusable produce bags, but hopefully they will soon. Very pricey unfortunately.

This is probably my favorite whole foods in Portland. The Cashiers are super nice and friendly. Also, they have great sandwiches and the pizza slices are huge and super tasty. They have the best Mac & Cheese here. It is super cheesy. Every thing is very healthy too. Great store!!!

Had everything I needed! Picked up a nice bottle of local wine as well as tiramisu, chocolate mousse, and a kale salad(what a disconnect huh?). I was staying at a nearby hotel and was sick of the food trucks my 17 yr old kept dragging me to for every meal. So the kale salad made me feel a little healthier, but I will drink the wine I bought with it! Deserts are for her, she said they were delicious. I’m not a Whole Paycheck regular, but this seemed like a smaller store than the one I went to last night in the Pearl district. Very nice though!!!

wouldn’t sell me beer despite buying it there almost everyday. I was in with someone in her thirties who didn’t have an ID and she left but they still wouldn’t sell it to me so I left and came back later and they still wouldn’t sell to me. I am thirty and had my ID.

I just had the best experience at this Whole Foods! I stopped in after mailing a package at the UPS Store with no intention of getting anything in particular. While wandering the store for a bit I stumbled upon the olive bar. I was amazed at the size and selection they had. In addition to olives they also had many different pickled items,(I’ll be back later to sample some of them). I saw that there were a few types of olives I had never tried before so I could not resist in grabbing a plastic container and shoveling various olives into it. After I had acquired my olives I could not leave without snagging some cheese as well. The cheese section at this Whole Foods was great. After a few moments of perusing the cheeses a nice gentlemen who was working behind the counter offered to help and asked me what type of cheese I normally like. He was able to offer up several things he thought I would like. Not only did he do a great job recommending cheese to me, he also opened up several cheeses for me to sample right there! He was even nice enough to offer a palate cleansing cracker after I sampled a cheese I didn’t care for much. Now that I had both olives and cheese in my future I also was obvious need of wine. Once again the staff member in this section offered to help right away. He took a look at the cheese I had and was able to make a recommendation based on cheese flavors and the price budget I gave him. While in this section I was surprised to see quite a few reasonably priced wine and several bottles on sale. All the help I received today from the employees of Whole Foods was just great! I cannot wait to enjoy all my goodies and I will definitely be back the next time I am in need of some tasty snacks.

This Whole foods is one of my 3 most favourite Whole Foods stores. # 1 is at Bridgeport Village, #2 is in Bellevue, Seattle. Although being the least favourite out of these three I think it is really good comparing to many other Whole Foods Stores.

This is simply the BEST Whole Foods I have every been to! They’ve nailed it on so many fronts, but mainly their bakery had me coming back every day during my trip to Portland. Vegan coconut shortbread cookies, vegan thumbprints I love you and I hope someone from SD and Portland will barter and exchange those recipes and tell me when they are making them. I am still dreaming of them. I came home and went right to our Whole Foods Hillcrest and was reminded how much our bakeries here kinda really stink! Back to Portland Whole Foods — NE. Wow, from walking in to seeing benches with loops to tie up the doggies, to a ton of bike racks and the smell of coffee/espresso seeping out of the door into the misty grey dampness — was just what I needed. A great selection of coffee drinks! Amazing selection of premade-meals to go and tons of GF fresh breads that didn’t break the bank or my back. The best part for me was seeing that at the cheese/meat/deli area they had the same great olive bar I love in SD but you could also FILL your growler with local beer! True Genius Portland and Whole Foods! I can’t wait to come back! Never stop making those two cookies!

I’m not going to talk about the food, or jump on the bandwagon of complaining about«whole paycheck» prices — if you think Whole Foods is expensive either you don’t understand the difference between value and price, and/or you don’t know how to shop. I am going to complain about the bottle returns process. There are 2 self-service machines that are always broken, splattered in filth, with shattered glass on the surrounding sidewalk — a path children often walk to get to the nearby library. It takes a minimum of two trips inside to get staff to fix the problem, with an average wait of 10 – 15 minutes. Yesterday it took 3 trips and a 20-minute wait. Nature of the beast? Nope, New Seasons doesn’t have this problem. Your customers don’t need more reasons to go to the new one just a few blocks away.

Having been on a fairly strict diet recently, I’m more and more appreciative of WF’s prepared foods selection. It’s a nice change from that of New Season’s, and they list all of the ingredients on the name cards so I can know exactly what’s in each dish. Do I like having to read ingredients so carefully? No. It sucks. I’m excited to be off this diet soon. But while I’m on it(and even in general) I appreciate the attention to detail. Decently tasty deli food is a major, major plus.

First off, I’m a fan. But this place is expensive. Know that going in. Know that if you apply yourself, you can get a lot of these things much cheaper at various places throughout the city, but you’ll have to travel for them. And to different places. But…I like Whole Foods in particular because they have a pretty rockin’ hot food, soup and salad bar in here(I think its all $ 8.99 a lb). The salad bar pretty much has your standard expectations, which is great. But I really dig the hot food and soup because they’re always changin’ it up. Recently, they had some spiced chicken in here that was so juicy and succulent.(Za’tar, I think?). I loved that stuff. Also, they always have a great produce selection and they’re charcuterie selection is among the best in the city, even though you’ll be paying out the yin yang for all your food. Like I said, know that going in.

This is my wife’s go-to store since we relocated to North Portland. The produce is excellent, it’s a huge store compared to the E. Burnside store(our former go-to), the ingress egress is fine, it’s low key enough to survive shopping there. Good quality food is expensive. For what you get, I think WF does a really good job with price and quality. Plenty of house branded products for value.
