I found Audra through the Unilocal Reviews and I couldn’t be happier! I’ve been to Audra 3 times and my 4^th appointment is coming up, as long as I’m in Portland I will keep coming back. She is so nice and her studio is so clean and cozy. Its pretty adorable like Audra! When i first came to Audra I hadn’t been waxed… in quite some time due to moving and just scared to find another waxer when i had been going to my previous girl for two years but Audra didn’t make me feel embarrassed and it was so much less painful than i thought it was going to be. This speaks volumes to her technique and the quality of product that she uses. She is also willing to listen to how you like your eyebrows shaped and really wants your input on what you like and don’t like. I understand your eyebrows are sisters and not twins, they’re going to be slightly different but she really does have a great eye to making them damn close! I have a weird eyebrow that takes a little extra time to shape and she does it so well. She is the second waxer that i’ve had to get this eyebrow under control and shaped so nicely! I have no reason to venture out and find someone else!

I was looking for a discreet waxing studio near my work because, let’s be honest: there is nothing awesome about waxing anything (other than maybe your eyebrows) and having someone walk by that doesn’t need to know you are a part-​time werwolf. Portland is a small town! You will run into someone. Trust me.
Audra’s studio is cozy, *private* and booking is a breeze on her website. What’s more, she’s spitting distance from my work, making it real easy for me to deal when the next full moon strikes.
Audra is a pro. She has a great sense of humor, a knack for making you feel right at home within minutes and doesn’t waste anytime getting down to business. If you have been on the hunt for an expert esthetician who is funny and will put you at ease, look no further. Audra is your gal. She is awesome!
Two side notes…
1.) I left her office with zero redness. That, my friends, is testament to her expertise. No one wants to look like the have been slapped with a skinny paddle (thank-​you-​very-​much!).
2.) I also had lash tinting while I was there and she did a great job! Normally my eyelashes are clear, so tinting makes a huge difference. I feel like a new woman — complete with eyeballs! YAY!

Quality, quick and clean service, Audra is the best. Recently moved and was looking for a new esthetician, she had great reviews so I tried it out and the search was over after my first visit. She’s relaxed and professional. Easy to book online, great website with services and prices laid out and she offers a happy hour discount! Highly suggest you check her out.

Awesome experience! I’ve had my lady bits waxed lots of times all over the country, and I can confidently say Audra provided the least painful, least uncomfortable (physical and otherwise!) experience I’ve had. She was incredibly thorough in making sure that I was happy with the wax and every tiny detail.
So excited to have found my new waxer!

Fabulous experience!
I have been trying out several waxing studios around town and this is the first place that I had a great experience from start to finish. Audra is professional, personable, and highly skilled and experienced.
Audra will make you feel so comfortable from the minute you walk in the door. She is extremely easy to talk to and her waxing technique is fantastic. I booked a Brazilian wax; it was as pain-​free as you can get with that service. I can’t wait book again!

Audra is just awesome. She has a great personality. She is also an outstanding conversationalist; which is a plus, because the last thing you want to worry about, when you are spread eagle in front of someone that you don’t know is, «What are we going to talk about?» Her conversation are fluid, not forced. Our talks makes me feel comfortable which helps to take my mind off the task.
Usually, I get a Brazilian but I have also had my legs and underarms waxed. Her work is A plus… For those Brazilian wax skeptics: I have probably had over 30 Brazilian waxes in my life, so please take my word when I say she really knows what she is doing. I’m so glad I found her! :)

Audra is HILARIOUS. A comedian/​esthetician? You can’t get better than that.
But really, she’s amazing. Looking past the fact that she’s so funny and genuine, she is OCD about waxing every hair, plus she knows her stuff when it comes to preventing in-​growns.
Get on her mailing list. She sends out promos all the time.

It is so difficult to think that Wax Downtown has only been open for 1 year. Audra is fantastic; professional and fun. She makes your experience easy and helpful.
Getting waxed is normally a painful, embarrassing process. However, at wax downtown, you don’t really get that feeling ever. As a newcomer to the waxing process, I can’t say that anyplace else would’ve been as friendly, helpful, dedicated, or applicable.
Personal service seems like a pub in this case, but I was very excited when I have been able to talk one on one about my concerns and needs.

Long overdue review: Wax Downtown is AMAZING. Can’t recommend Audra enough! Have been a regular customer since February and will never go anywhere else. Clean, professional and super nice! I actually look forward to my monthly appointments just to catch up with Audra! :) She even does «happy hour» Tuesday through Friday from 2−4pm where any full priced service is 25% off! My Brazilian costs $ 33! Take it from a fellow esthetician, Wax Downtown won’t let you down!

Audra is incredible! I booked an appt last minute and luckily she had space open for me. I’ve been waxing for years in LA and this is the best wax I’ve gotten. If I’m ever in the area I will absolutely go back to Audra. Her prices are competitive and her service is spot on. I wish I lived closer so she could be my wax girl. Audra is the best! She’s super sweet, friendly, and professional. I’ve never taken any ibuprofen before or after because with her technique you hardly feel much pain. She always has happy hour which is an amazing deal!

BRAZILLIAN WIZARD!
Audra is very nice and fun to talk to, and while you’re chatting you hardly notice the wax. By far the most painless wax I’ve ever had, and she doesn’t miss anything.

Today was my first visit with Audra. She’s personable, friendly & knows what she’s doing. Her space is private & cozy. You can tell she cares about people & talks to you about possible allergies, what’s going on with your body, and answers any questions you may have before she gets down to business.
It’s easy access to the building. I took the streetcar but there are also Smartpark garages within close proximity.
If you’re looking for an esthetician who will put you at ease and make you feel comfortable, then Audra is the gal to see!

So happy I found this place! Audrey is so nice and gentle! She just started her own business and I think she is truly going to thrive.
I went for a facial wax and I’m more than happy with the results. She didn’t burn me, she payed attention to every single hair that was out of place, and the wax smelled delicious, plus the price is very reasonable.
I will definitely be coming back to this place!

Her studio is a little hard to find if you’re new to the area,;but super cozy once you find yourself inside.
Audra and her location is fantastic. Also, her happy hour and loyalty program makes it even more affordable. She defiantly understands hairy girl problems, is quick, friendly and skilled.

Let me just start this off by saying I’m very picky… very picky! I’m an Esthetician too, and I also specialize in waxing, so I wanted to make sure I was going to someone who knows their stuff. Yeah, I can wax myself, and generally do, but it gets to be a hassle and gets put off for, well… way too long. I found Audra on Unilocal and I couldn’t be happier. She’s quick, her space is clean and honestly, one of the most painless waxes I’ve ever had.
I’ve been to, and worked at some of Portland/Beaverton’s «best» (and «best» is used facetiously) spots, and I would hands down recommend Audra to anyone (who doesn’t want to drive to Beaverton to see me).
